Chapter 220: Damian Delivers the Bill
The [Radiant Execution Sword] descended like a pale white judgment.
Cassandra raised the [Queen Sword], but her injured arm trembled.
The gap was too large.
Second Stage Golden Core against Seventh Stage Golden Core.
Even with her pride, even with the [Queen Sword], she could feel death pressing down on her.
Ravion’s mocking voice echoed through the mist. "Die with your useless pride."
Cassandra’s eyes stayed cold.
She did not kneel.
She did not beg.
Only one sentence appeared in her mind.
"If I die, I die standing."
The pale sword light crashed down.
BOOOOOOM!
At that instant, a figure suddenly appeared in front of her.
Cassandra’s pupils shrank.
"Damian!"
Damian stood between her and the falling sword light, the [Crimson Thunder Eclipse] raised with both hands.
Crimson thunder exploded outward.
RUMBLE!
The pale sword light smashed into him.
His feet sank into the stone ground, cracks spreading beneath him like a spiderweb.
Blood sprayed from his shoulder and chest.
The sword pressure tore through his robe and carved a deep wound across his body.
Cassandra froze.
For the first time, her calm expression cracked.
"Damian, you idiot!"
Damian gritted his teeth and laughed through the blood at the corner of his mouth. "Relax. I’m handsome enough to survive."
Cassandra’s fingers tightened until her knuckles turned pale.
Something in her chest changed, but she did not know what it was or even understand it at all.
She only knew that seeing Damian bleeding in front of her made her colder than facing death herself.
Ravion stared at Damian, then laughed. "How touching. A fool jumping in front of a dying woman. Do you think this makes you a hero?"
Damian slowly lowered the broken [Crimson Thunder Eclipse].
His breathing was heavy, but his eyes were bright.
"No."
He glanced back at Cassandra and smiled faintly. "I’m not a hero."
Cassandra’s lips moved. "Damian..."
He reached his hand toward her. "Lend me the [Queen Sword] for a while."
Cassandra frowned. "You are injured. Do not do anything more."
"Yeah." Damian coughed blood, then grinned. "But don’t think I’m weak. Just lend me your sword. Mine is broken."
Cassandra stared at him for one breath.
The [Queen Sword] hummed in her hand.
HUMM...
Damian looked at the silver-black blade. "You want revenge too, right?"
The [Queen Sword] trembled.
A cold Imperial Metal aura spread from the blade like a silent answer.
HUMM!
Damian smiled. "Good girl."
Cassandra’s eyes sharpened. "Do not flirt with my sword."
Damian took the [Queen Sword] from her hand and chuckled. "I flirt with everything beautiful."
The moment Damian held the [Queen Sword], Imperial Metal sword Qi surged into his palm.
At the same time, the reward he had received earlier awakened in his mind.
[Five Elemental Sovereign Sword Scripture]
[Metal Sovereign Chapter]
Damian’s eyes became terrifyingly calm.
The sword mist around him stopped moving.
Ravion frowned. "What trick is this?"
Damian lifted the [Queen Sword].
Silver-black sword Qi crawled along the blade, mixing with his Chaos Qi.
For a moment, a faint crown-like shadow appeared above Damian’s head.
Different from Cassandra’s cold elegance, Damian’s crown looked tyrannical.
Wild and unreasonable.
Like a dragon pretending to be a king.
Damian’s voice became low.
[Metal Sovereign Chapter - First Decree]
[Sovereign Commands All Blades]
The surrounding swords trembled violently.
HUMM!
HUMM!
HUMM!
Ravion’s sword shook in his hand.
His expression finally changed. "Impossible!"
Damian stepped forward.
Blood dripped from his wounds, but his grip did not weaken.
"You mocked her pride."
Another step.
"You stole what belonged to her."
The [Queen Sword] released a cold silver light.
"You smiled while watching her life burn."
Ravion roared, forcing pale sword Qi into his weapon. "You think you can judge me?!"
Damian’s eyes became cold.
"No."
He swung.
"I’m just delivering the bill."
SHING!
A silver-black sword decree crossed the air.
It did not clash with Ravion’s sword Qi.
It commanded it to split.
Ravion’s pale sword light shattered apart.
His sword cracked.
His eyes widened in horror.
"No..."
The silver-black line passed through his body.
For a moment, everything became silent.
Ravion stood frozen, disbelief still on his face.
A thin red line appeared from his shoulder to his waist.
His sword fell from his hand.
CLANG!
Ravion collapsed.
The sword mist swallowed his body.
Cassandra stood behind Damian, staring at his back without blinking.
The [Queen Sword] still hummed in his hand, but its aura had already begun to calm down.
Damian exhaled slowly.
The crown-like shadow above his head faded.
His body swayed once.
Cassandra immediately stepped forward and caught his arm.
Her voice was colder than usual, but there was a faint tremble hidden inside it. "Idiot."
Damian looked at her and smiled weakly. "You already said that."
"I will say it again."
"Then at least say handsome idiot."
Cassandra’s hand tightened around his arm. "Bleed less first."
Damian glanced down at his wounds, then clicked his tongue. "Yeah... that attack was kind of painful."
Cassandra took the [Queen Sword] back from him, then supported him with one hand.
Her eyes moved toward Ravion’s fallen body.
For a long moment, she said nothing.
The man who had betrayed her, sold her out, and smiled while her life burned had finally fallen.
Not completely by her hand.
Yet the final judgment had still come because of her.
Because Damian had stood in front of her.
Because he had chosen her side without hesitation.
Cassandra’s fingers tightened faintly.
Damian noticed and glanced at her. "Regret?"
Cassandra’s eyes remained on Ravion’s corpse.
"No."
Her voice was calm.
Cold and final
"I only regret not cutting him more and ending him with my own sword."
Damian coughed, then laughed softly. "Damn. That’s my Cassandra."
The [Queen Sword] pressed lightly against his neck.
Cassandra looked at him coldly. "I am not yours."
Damian smiled despite the blood on his lips. "For now."
Cassandra stared at him for several breaths.
This time, she did not immediately deny it.
She only looked away and said, "Shut up and heal."
