Chapter 219: Her Betrayal Made Him Stronger
Cassandra’s and Ravion’s swords collided again and again.
CLANG!
Silver-black Imperial Metal sword Qi burst outward, but this time, Cassandra was forced back.
Her boots scraped across the stone ground, leaving two long marks behind her.
Blood slowly slid from the corner of her lips.
The [Queen Sword] hummed in her hand.
HUMM...
Cassandra’s breathing became heavier, but her eyes remained cold.
Ravion stood opposite her, his white robes fluttering in the sword mist.
A faint cut had appeared on his sleeve, but compared to Cassandra, he looked almost unharmed.
He smiled lightly. "What’s wrong, Cassandra? Wasn’t I supposed to die?"
Cassandra tightened her grip on the [Queen Sword].
Imperial Metal sword Qi wrapped around her blade again, but her arm trembled faintly.
She hated to admit it, but Ravion was far stronger than she had expected.
Cassandra’s eyes sharpened. "How can you be this strong?"
Ravion paused for a moment.
A second later, he laughed out loud.
The laugh was full of mockery.
"How can I be this strong?" Ravion repeated, as if he had heard the funniest joke in the world. "Cassandra, what do you think?"
Cassandra’s eyes narrowed.
Ravion slowly raised his sword, and pale white sword Qi began to surge around him.
"Cassandra, thanks to you being such a pain in the ass, your resources became mine. On top of that, I also received the resources from betraying you..."
His aura rose higher and higher.
BOOM!
The surrounding sword mist was pushed away.
Ravion’s pressure was no longer ordinary intermediate Golden Core.
It was much stronger.
Ravion’s smile widened as he looked at Cassandra. "Not only did I become stronger, I also..."
His aura erupted fully.
RUMBLE!
A powerful Golden Core pressure crashed down like a wave.
"I am now at the advanced stage of the Golden Core Realm."
Cassandra’s brows furrowed.
Ravion’s eyes filled with pride. "Seventh Stage Golden Core Realm."
The air became silent.
Cassandra’s Second Stage Golden Core aura looked far weaker in front of his pressure.
Ravion pointed his sword at her. "Do you understand now? Even after surviving, even after finding a new sword, you are still beneath me."
Cassandra’s gaze became colder.
She wiped the blood from her lips with the back of her hand. "Beneath you?"
The [Queen Sword] trembled.
HUMM!
Cassandra slowly lifted the blade again.
Her voice was low, calm, and filled with killing intent. "Ravion, you only climbed higher by stepping on my corpse."
Her silver-black sword Qi condensed into a thin line. "Unfortunately for you, I am not dead."
Ravion’s smile faded.
Cassandra stepped forward. "And I came back to collect what you owe."
Ravion’s expression turned ugly for the first time.
The words clearly struck something inside him.
He gripped his sword tighter, and pale white sword Qi spun around his body like flowing silk.
"Collect?" Ravion sneered. "With what strength?"
Cassandra did not answer.
She only raised the [Queen Sword].
The [Queen Sword] released a cold hum.
HUMM...
Imperial Metal sword Qi gathered along the silver-black blade, forming thin crown-like lines around Cassandra’s wrist.
Her eyes became calm.
"Strength?"
Cassandra stepped forward.
The sword mist around her split apart as if making way for a queen.
"Of course I have enough strength to cut trash like you."
Ravion’s face darkened. "Still acting arrogant."
Cassandra did not answer.
She raised the [Queen Sword] above her shoulder.
The sword intent she had learned from the blade during those three days finally moved.
It was still rough.
Still incomplete.
However, the moment it appeared, every ordinary sword in the area trembled faintly.
HUMM!
Cassandra’s voice was cold.
[First Decree - Imperial Edge Execution]
The [Queen Sword] descended.
SHING!
A silver-black sword line tore through the mist, fast, clean, and commanding.
It did not look flashy.
It looked like an order.
An order to cut.
Ravion’s pupils shrank.
For the first time, he felt his own sword Qi become sluggish, as if it had been forced to bow before Cassandra’s Imperial Metal aura. "Damn it!"
He gritted his teeth and slashed upward.
[Radiant River Severing Moon]
Pale white sword Qi surged out like a bright river, crashing directly into Cassandra’s silver-black sword line.
BOOOOM!
The two attacks collided.
The ground cracked.
The sword mist exploded outward.
For a breath, Cassandra’s [First Decree - Imperial Edge Execution] actually split Ravion’s martial art apart, cutting through the pale white river like a royal blade judging a criminal.
Ravion’s face twisted.
"You’re still the same pain in the ass!"
He poured even more Qi into his sword.
The pale white river expanded violently and swallowed Cassandra’s sword line.
CRACK!
The silver-black sword intent shattered.
Cassandra’s body shook, and she was blasted backward.
Blood flew from her lips.
Her boots scraped across the stone before she stabbed the [Queen Sword] into the ground to stop herself.
CLANG!
Ravion slowly lowered his sword, his chest rising slightly.
A thin cut had appeared across his shoulder, but his smile returned.
"See? That is your problem, Cassandra."
He walked forward step by step.
"You were always too righteous, too proud, and too damn annoying."
Cassandra lifted her eyes coldly.
Ravion’s voice became sharper. "This is a martial world. Geniuses are everywhere. If you want to live, you bow your head when stronger clans tell you to bow."
Cassandra spat blood to the side. "Those clans were hypocrites."
Her fingers tightened around the [Queen Sword].
"Righteous on the outside. Evil underneath."
Ravion laughed coldly. "So what? Strength is the law. And what did openly challenging them get you?"
His aura erupted again.
RUMBLE!
Pale white sword Qi gathered above his blade, brighter and heavier than before.
His eyes filled with cruel satisfaction.
"You got betrayed, hunted, and abandoned."
Cassandra tried to raise the [Queen Sword], but her arm trembled.
Ravion’s smile became cruel.
"And now, it will get you killed."
He stepped forward and unleashed his final strike.
[Radiant Execution Sword]
A huge pale sword light descended toward Cassandra’s head.
Ravion’s mocking voice followed with it.
"Die with your useless pride."
