Chapter 204: Borrowed Sword Gets Heartbroken
Damian stopped in front of the two masked disciples and looked down at them with cold amusement. "Now, let’s stop wasting time. Who sent you?"
The first masked disciple coughed blood beneath his mask, then laughed hoarsely. "You think we’ll tell you?"
The second disciple forced himself to sit up, his cracked mask revealing one bloodshot eye. "Dream on, Damian. You’re dead once Senior Brother..."
He suddenly stopped.
Damian’s eyes moved slightly. "Oh?"
The second disciple’s face stiffened.
The first immediately snapped, "Shut your damn mouth!"
Damian rested the huge sword on his shoulder and chuckled. "Senior Brother, huh? That already narrows it down a lot."
The first disciple spat blood onto the ground. "You know nothing."
Damian tilted his head. "Really?"
He stepped forward and pressed one foot onto the first disciple’s broken arm.
CRACK!
The disciple’s body jerked, but he clenched his teeth and refused to scream.
Damian raised his brow. "Not bad. You have some backbone."
The second disciple’s breathing turned rough, but he still forced out a mocking laugh.
"Is that all? Elder Selvara’s disciple only knows how to torture defeated enemies?"
Damian looked at him calmly. "You two came here to kill me, so as Master Selvara’s disciple, I have the right to counterattack, right?"
The second disciple froze.
Damian pressed down harder.
CRACK!
This time, the first disciple groaned, his whole body trembling.
Damian crouched slightly. "Who sent you?"
The first disciple glared at him through his mask. "No one."
Damian’s lips curved faintly. "Wrong answer."
He grabbed the man by the collar and slammed him against a broken stone pillar.
BANG!
Cracks spread across the pillar.
The first disciple’s aura became even weaker, but he still sneered. "Kill us if you dare."
The second disciple laughed despite the blood dripping from his mouth. "That’s right. You won’t get anything from us."
Damian stared at them for a few breaths.
The gray mist moved slowly around them.
Several nearby Noble Grade swords trembled faintly, as if watching the scene with cold interest.
Damian suddenly smiled. "I get it."
The two masked disciples frowned at the same time.
Damian slowly stood and rested the huge sword against his shoulder again. "It’s Nolan, right?"
The air went silent.
The first disciple’s pupils shrank for a tiny instant.
The second disciple’s fingers twitched.
That was enough.
Damian’s smile became brighter. "Hehehe... I guessed right."
The first disciple immediately roared, "Bullshit!"
The second shouted, "You’re just making things up!"
Damian nodded casually. "Sure. Keep pretending. Your faces already answered for you."
Their expressions changed.
Damian’s eyes turned cold.
"Nolan really is a fake righteous bastard. He doesn’t even dare kill me himself. He sends two disposable idiots instead."
The two disciples tried to move at the same time.
One reached for his protection jade.
The other tried to ignite his remaining Qi.
Damian moved first.
SWISH!
The huge sword flashed.
A heavy sword light swept across the gray mist.
BOOM!
The two masked disciples froze.
A second later, their protection jades cracked uselessly and fell to the ground.
Their bodies collapsed into the mist, their auras disappearing completely.
Damian looked down at them without pity. "You wanted me dead inside the Sword Tomb, so dying here should be fair enough."
For a moment, only the sound of drifting sword Qi remained.
Damian stood in the gray mist, the huge sword still resting on his shoulder.
His gaze slowly moved deeper into the Sword Tomb. "Nolan, huh?"
His voice was calm, but the coldness inside it was obvious.
A faint killing intent flashed through his eyes. "Too bad you’re Violetta’s target."
Damian’s fingers tightened slightly around the sword hilt. "If not, I’d kill you myself."
The gray mist stirred around him.
A few nearby Noble Grade swords trembled faintly, as if sensing the danger in his words.
Damian let out a quiet breath and shook his head. "No. I’m not stealing my precious treasure chest’s target."
His lips curved faintly. "Violetta needs that bastard more than I do."
After saying that, Damian lowered the huge sword from his shoulder.
THUD!
The heavy blade struck the ground, making the gray soil crack slightly.
The huge sword trembled.
HUMM?
Its sword intent carried clear confusion, as if it could not understand why Damian suddenly put it down after forcefully pulling it out earlier.
Damian glanced at it and waved his hand casually. "What? Don’t look at me like that."
The huge sword hummed again, heavier this time.
HUMM!
Damian clicked his tongue. "I said I was just borrowing you for a moment. I never said I would choose you."
The huge sword froze.
A second later, its sword Qi became faintly angry.
Damian looked completely shameless. "Don’t blame me. You’re only High-Rank Noble Grade. What I want is at least Royal Grade."
The surrounding Noble Grade swords trembled at once.
Several sharp sword intents locked onto him, clearly offended by his words.
Damian slowly raised his brow.
"Oh? You bastards are angry?"
The pressure around him became heavier.
Damian’s expression changed.
A wild, arrogant laugh escaped from his mouth as a deep aura surged from his body.
The pressure of the [Chaos Dragon Physique] spread outward, and his Chaos Qi rolled like a dark tide.
A second later, Damian opened his mouth.
[Lion Roar]
ROOOOOAR!
A tyrannical roar exploded through the gray mist.
The nearby Noble Grade swords shook violently, their sword intent scattering in all directions.
For several breaths, the entire area became silent.
Damian looked around calmly. "Good. Now behave."
The huge sword’s angry sword Qi weakened little by little, as if it had finally realized arguing with Damian was useless.
Damian patted the flat of the blade. "See? This is why communication is important."
The huge sword gave another faint hum.
HUMM...
Damian nodded with satisfaction. "Good sword. At least you know when to shut up."
Several nearby swords trembled again, but none of them attacked.
Damian ignored them and turned his attention toward the two dead masked disciples.
Their storage rings and swords had already been taken by him.
The two High-Rank Noble Grade swords were decent enough, but Damian did not need them, so he casually tossed them away and let them rejoin the other blades in the [Inner Sword Region].
Damian then dusted off his hands and looked deeper into the Sword Tomb.
The gray mist ahead became darker, and the sword Qi grew heavier.
His lips curved faintly. "Alright. Time for the core area."
Damian stepped forward and disappeared into the deeper mist.
