Chapter 216: Please Stop Gifting Me Things
Cassandra stared at Damian for a few breaths before looking away.
The [Queen Sword] rested quietly in her hand, its silver-black blade releasing a faint Imperial Metal aura.
Even though her expression was calm, Damian could tell she was not as indifferent as she looked.
He glanced at the sword, then said, "You should cultivate for a while."
Cassandra looked back at him. "Here?"
Damian nodded. "Of course."
The [Queen Sword] hummed softly.
HUMM...
Damian continued, "This sword is not just some ordinary weapon. It is a spiritual artifact at Top-Rank Royal Grade, and from what I can feel, it’s already close to becoming a real King Grade sword. You need to cultivate with it to understand her better."
He paused, then rubbed his chin. "Well, in your case, maybe Queen Grade sounds better."
Cassandra looked at him silently.
Damian shrugged. "What? It fits you, and it also fits the sword’s name."
Cassandra lowered her gaze to the sword.
The silver Imperial Metal aura wrapped around her wrist like a thin crown, cold and elegant.
Damian’s tone became calmer. "If you rush to use it without understanding its temperament, you’ll only waste its power. Sit down, circulate your Metal Sword Qi, and let your sword intent touch it slowly."
Cassandra did not argue.
Although Damian was shameless, perverted, and always said things that made people want to cut him, he was not bad.
More importantly, he had truly brought her a sword suited for her.
He even told her to cultivate here, which meant he would probably protect her too.
That final thought made Cassandra’s eyes move slightly.
A moment later, she sat down cross-legged near the ruined stone pillar and placed the [Queen Sword] across her knees.
Her Metal Sword Qi slowly spread from her body.
The [Queen Sword] answered almost immediately.
HUMM...
A cold silver light rose between them.
The sword Qi and Imperial Metal aura began to connect, strand by strand.
Cassandra closed her eyes, her breathing becoming steady.
Her proud and cold temperament slowly matched the sword’s aura.
Damian stood not far away and watched quietly.
For once, he did not disturb her.
Seeing Cassandra cultivate so directly after hearing his advice, his lips slowly curved. "She really trusts me more than before."
The thought made his mood even better.
Damian folded his arms and leaned against a broken pillar, guarding the area casually.
His smile became faintly shameless again. "Hehehe... as expected, women are still women. Gifts are always the answer."
The [Queen Sword] suddenly released a faint cold hum.
HUMM...
Damian raised his brow. "What? I’m right."
Cassandra’s eyes remained closed, but her voice came out coldly. "If you say one more stupid thing, I will cultivate after cutting you."
Damian immediately coughed. "I was only praising the beauty of sincere generosity."
Cassandra ignored him.
The silver light around her became brighter.
Her Metal Sword Qi slowly wrapped around the [Queen Sword], while the Imperial Metal aura answered by circling back around her body.
For a brief moment, the surrounding sword mist became quiet.
---
Three days passed inside the [Core Sword Domain].
During those three days, Cassandra remained near the ruined stone pillar, quietly cultivating with the [Queen Sword] placed across her knees.
The silver-black blade floated slightly above her lap, releasing faint threads of Imperial Metal sword Qi that wrapped around her body like a cold crown.
As for Damian, he had been guarding nearby.
Of course, "guarding" was only one part of it.
Every day, he would take out a pill, talisman, or cultivation resource and toss it toward Cassandra while explaining what each one did.
All of them were Top-Rank Noble Grade items.
Although he did not get another critical multiplier reward and only received a normal return, he still got 200 times the item he gifted.
Basically, it was a win-win.
As for why he did not gift her any Royal Grade items for now...
It was better not to throw too many precious things at a woman who was not that familiar with him yet.
Also, Cassandra was still in the Golden Core Realm, not the Nascent Soul Realm.
Giving her too many Royal Grade resources at once might not even be useful.
Meanwhile, Cassandra accepted them without saying much.
She already understood Damian had some strange habit of giving things away, so at first, she tolerated it.
However, after three straight days of continuous gifting, even she finally had enough.
She stopped cultivating for a moment and looked at Damian. "Damian, why are you like this? Just what the hell is wrong with you?"
Damian heard her question and only smiled, answering naturally. "Oh, come on. This is just my quirk. At least it’s better than other people’s quirks, like killing people."
Cassandra’s fingers tightened after hearing that. "That is not a good comparison at all."
Damian grinned. "Of course it is. You said it yourself. It’s a quirk or personality trait. Mine is liking to give gifts. Isn’t that better than killing or robbing?"
Cassandra stared at him for several breaths.
In the end, she could not really argue.
After all, what he did was not wrong.
Just strange.
Very strange.
"Fine," Cassandra said coldly. "I will not question it anymore. But please stop gifting me things."
Damian shook his head. "No can do. After all, there’s only one woman here, and that’s you."
Cassandra’s expression froze.
A second later, she finally had enough and stopped her cultivation completely.
Upon seeing this, Damian frowned slightly. "Cassandra, did I disturb you too much?"
Cassandra shook her head. "No. You did not."
Damian blinked. "Then why stop?"
Cassandra lowered her gaze to the [Queen Sword]. "The sword’s grade is too high. No matter how much I cultivate with it right now, I cannot use its full potential. I can only draw out more of its power after my realm increases."
Damian let out a sigh of relief. "I see. Thank god it’s not me."
Cassandra looked at him silently.
Damian raised both hands. "What? I’m being honest."
