Chapter 217: Cassandra Suggests Finding More Women
Cassandra looked at Damian silently for several breaths.
Damian blinked. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Cassandra slowly put the [Queen Sword] away, then said in a calm voice, "Let’s go find another woman."
Damian froze for a moment.
A second later, his eyes lit up. "Oh?"
Cassandra’s expression remained cold. "That way, you can pester someone else."
Damian placed one hand over his chest. "Cassandra, your kindness truly touches me. You are actually helping me expand my noble mission."
Cassandra looked at him like she was staring at a disease. "Do not misunderstand. I only want peace."
Damian grinned shamelessly. "Peace is good. Women are also good. This plan has no flaw."
Cassandra turned away. "Everything about you is a flaw."
Damian followed beside her with a relaxed expression. "Yet you still agreed to travel with me."
Cassandra frowned.
For a moment, she seemed stuck, as if she wanted to refute him but could not find a clean answer.
In the end, she simply walked away.
Damian only smiled and followed her. "Fine, fine. I’ll behave."
Cassandra did not believe a single word.
The two continued walking through the misty edge of the [Core Sword Domain].
Damian looked around with bright eyes and said out loud, "Another woman, huh... I wonder what kind of tragic beauty the Sword Tomb will give me next."
Cassandra’s voice was flat. "You sound like you are choosing fruit in a market."
Damian rubbed his chin. "Beautiful women are more precious than fruit."
Cassandra glanced at him. "That is not better."
Damian answered naturally, "It was not meant to be worse."
Cassandra ignored him and kept walking.
The sword mist around them drifted quietly, carrying faint threads of sharp Qi.
Every now and then, distant sword domains released low hums, as if sleeping beasts had sensed strangers passing by.
Damian’s mood, however, remained excellent.
He had gained the [Queen Sword], received an extreme reward from Cassandra, and now Cassandra herself was suggesting they find another woman.
No matter how he looked at it, this was progress.
"Hehehe... Cassandra is colder than ice, but she still knows how to help."
Cassandra suddenly said, "Stop thinking strange things."
Damian blinked. "How did you know?"
"Your face is disgusting."
Damian sighed. "That is called happiness."
"It looks like crime."
"You wound me again."
"Good."
Damian clicked his tongue, but his expression did not lose any joy.
At that moment, a faint laugh suddenly came from the mist ahead.
"Cassandra Valeria... I never expected to see you here."
Cassandra’s steps stopped.
Her expression, which had only been cold before, became truly sharp.
Damian also stopped beside her, his eyes moving toward the mist.
A few breaths later, several figures slowly walked out from the gray sword fog.
The person at the front was a handsome young man in white robes, carrying a long sword at his waist.
His appearance was refined, and his aura was steady, but his eyes carried a fake warmth that made Damian feel annoyed at first glance.
Behind him stood three other cultivators.
All of them looked at Cassandra with strange expressions.
Shock.
Greed.
Fear.
And a little hatred.
The white-robed man smiled gently. "So the rumors were true. You really did enter the Sword Tomb."
Cassandra’s hand moved toward the [Queen Sword] at her waist.
Her voice was calm, but the air around her became colder. "Ravion."
Damian raised his brow.
"Oh? She knows him."
The white-robed young man, Ravion, looked at Cassandra’s face for a moment before sighing softly. "You still look the same. Cold, proud, and difficult."
Cassandra’s eyes showed no emotion. "You still talk too much."
Ravion chuckled. "I heard you were dead."
"Disappointed?"
"Of course not." Ravion smiled faintly. "I am glad you survived."
Damian looked at his expression and immediately felt disgusted.
"Damn. This bastard’s acting is worse than Nolan’s."
He then leaned closer to Cassandra and asked in a casual voice, "Who is this pretty-faced bastard?"
Cassandra’s expression did not change, but her eyes became colder. "My ex-fiancé."
Damian paused.
A second later, his eyes slowly moved back to Ravion.
"Oh."
His smile became wider, but the warmth in it disappeared. "So you’re the fiancé who betrayed her for money, huh?"
Ravion’s gentle expression finally cracked.
His brows furrowed slightly. "So she told you that."
Cassandra’s fingers tightened near the hilt of the [Queen Sword], but she did not speak.
Ravion sighed softly, as if he had been wronged. "It seems she truly knows how to twist the past. Whatever she told you, it was a lie."
Damian rubbed his chin. "Really?"
Ravion’s voice became colder. "Cassandra Valeria was indeed a demonic cultivator. She stole forbidden sword arts, murdered innocent people, and betrayed her own clan. The Valeria Clan only did what was necessary."
The three cultivators behind him nodded at once.
"That’s right."
"She was always dangerous."
"Senior Brother Ravion was merciful enough to give her a chance before."
Damian listened quietly.
Cassandra’s face remained calm, but the sword mist around her seemed to freeze.
The [Queen Sword] released a faint, cold hum.
HUMM...
Damian suddenly laughed.
Ravion frowned. "What are you laughing at?"
Damian waved one hand. "Sorry, sorry. It’s just funny."
His eyes sharpened slightly. "You really think I’ll believe a stupid man like you over a beautiful woman?"
Ravion’s face darkened.
Damian continued, his tone lazy but full of disgust. "Especially when that stupid man betrayed his own fiancée for money, status, or whatever trash benefit the other clans threw at him."
Ravion’s smile vanished completely. "You know nothing."
Damian pointed at Cassandra with his thumb. "I know she’s standing here with clean sword Qi."
Then he pointed at Ravion. "And I know you look like the kind of bastard who practices smiling in a mirror before stabbing someone in the back."
One of Ravion’s followers shouted, "How dare you insult Senior Brother Ravion!"
Damian glanced at him. "Shut up, side character."
The man’s face turned red with anger.
Ravion slowly drew his sword.
SHING!
His voice became icy. "Since you are stupid enough to side with a woman like her, I’ll kill you together with her."
Damian’s smile turned dangerous. "Good."
The [Crimson Thunder Eclipse] appeared in his hand.
CRACKLE!
Crimson thunder crawled along the blade.
"I was starting to get tired of hearing your bullshit anyway."
