Chapter 263: Poor Simp Walks Into Trap
The system movie fast-forwarded once again.
Three months later, Selvara finally brought Nolan to the address she had previously given Violetta.
As expected, Nolan followed her without the slightest suspicion.
After all, that bastard was basically Selvara’s fucking simp.
If Selvara personally asked him to follow her somewhere, Nolan would probably happily walk straight into a volcano while imagining some delusional bullshit about how she had finally recognized his greatness.
Damian watched from outside the movie and clicked his tongue. "Poor fucking simp."
Inside the system movie, Nolan followed Selvara deep into a quiet valley.
At first, his expression was calm. There was even a faint trace of happiness on his face, clearly pleased that Selvara had personally brought him somewhere without explaining why.
However, the moment they reached the center of the valley, his footsteps suddenly came to a halt.
His brows furrowed as a soft melody drifted through the air.
TRIIING...
Nolan’s expression instantly changed. The melody was beautiful and gentle, carrying an almost mesmerizing quality.
Yet hidden beneath that beautiful sound was an incredibly sharp killing intent that silently wrapped around his body like countless invisible threads.
Nolan immediately turned toward Selvara. "Elder Selvara."
His hand instinctively moved toward his sword. "What the hell is the meaning of this?"
There was no answer.
Nolan’s eyes widened slightly as he realized that Selvara had already disappeared. "What?!"
TRIIING...
Another note echoed through the valley, and with it, a graceful figure slowly emerged from the other side.
Violetta.
She walked forward calmly, holding an elegant pipa in her arms.
Nolan froze completely, his eyes widening as though he had just seen a ghost. "You..."
For several seconds, disbelief overwhelmed everything else on his face. "Impossible."
Violetta stared at him without a trace of warmth. "You never expected this, did you?"
Her fingers gently rested against the pipa’s strings.
TRIIING...
A cold smile slowly appeared on her face. "That I’m still alive."
Nolan’s shock rapidly transformed into anger. "Violetta."
Violetta’s eyes became even colder. "The day you abandoned my family..."
Her fingers tightened against the pipa. "The day you allowed them to die."
Another note rang through the valley.
TRIIING...
Her fingers clenched. "The day you crippled me, destroyed my spiritual root, and condemned me for a crime I never committed..."
The hatred inside her voice became impossible to hide. "Did you ever once imagine that I would crawl back from hell just to stand in front of you again?"
Nolan’s face darkened. "You dare speak to me like..."
Violetta directly shouted. "Shut the fuck up!"
Her fingers violently struck the strings.
TRIIIIING!
The entire valley trembled as invisible sound waves exploded outward.
Violetta’s eyes burned with years of hatred. "You’ve already spoken enough."
Her voice became ice-cold. "Today, Nolan... I’ll tear everything you stole from me out of your fucking corpse."
Nolan’s expression became murderous. "You think gaining one weapon suddenly makes you my equal?"
Golden light erupted around his body. "You’re still the same pathetic woman who couldn’t protect anything."
Violetta’s pupils contracted.
Nolan drew the [Sunfall King Sword].
SHIIING!
Brilliant golden sword light tore through the valley.
The surrounding ground cracked beneath his feet as an oppressive sword aura erupted outward like a miniature sun. "Come."
Nolan pointed the sword directly at her. "I’ll kill you properly this time."
Violetta’s fingers slammed against the pipa.
TRIIING! TRIIING! TRIIING!
The gentle melody instantly transformed into countless invisible sound blades ripped through the air.
SHIIING! SHIIING! SHIIING!
Nolan swung his sword.
BOOOOM!
Golden sword Qi collided violently with the incoming sound blades.
The valley exploded as deep scars appeared across the surrounding cliffs.
Violetta continued playing without stopping. Her fingers became blurs as they moved across the strings.
Nolan rushed straight through the storm.
His [Sunfall King Sword] erupted with blazing golden light. "Pathetic!"
He slashed downward.
Violetta struck several strings simultaneously.
TRAAAAANG!
A massive wall of sound materialized in front of her.
BOOOOM!
The collision blasted both cultivators backward.
Violetta slid several meters across the ground, blood immediately appearing at the corner of her lips.
Nolan staggered only two steps before stabilizing himself.
His expression became increasingly vicious. "Three months."
He lifted his sword. "You spent three fucking months preparing for this..."
Golden sword intent erupted around him. "And this is all you’ve got?"
Violetta wiped the blood from her lips. Instead of looking afraid, she laughed quietly. "Hehehe..."
Nolan’s eyes twitched.
Violetta raised the pipa again. "Keep talking."
Her bloodstained fingers touched the strings. "I want to remember the sound of your arrogance when I finally watch you die."
Nolan’s face twisted. "YOU BITCH!"
He exploded forward.
BOOOM!
His sword descended like a falling sun.
Violetta’s music erupted simultaneously.
TRIIING!
Golden sword light and invisible musical blades crashed against each other again and again.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOOOM!
Their battle tore through the entire valley.
Violetta’s melodies shifted constantly, transforming from invisible blades into illusions that distorted Nolan’s senses.
Yet Nolan continued to break through them one after another.
Like the protagonist-type bastard he was, every time Violetta forced him into danger, Nolan somehow reacted at the perfect moment.
The [Sunfall King Sword] seemed to become more compatible with him with every exchange.
Outside the movie, Damian’s expression became uglier.
"Damn it..."
He crushed several roasted nuts inside his hand without noticing. "Fucking protagonist luck again."
Inside the valley, Violetta’s condition continued to worsen. Her robes were soaked in blood, and several sword wounds stretched across her arms and body.
Her fingers had already split open from playing the pipa so violently, yet she refused to stop.
TRIIING! TRIIING! TRIIING!
Nolan roared and shattered another wave of sound blades. "ENOUGH!"
Golden light erupted as his sword broke through Violetta’s final defense.
BOOOOM!
Violetta was thrown violently backward.
She crashed into the ground and rolled several times before finally stopping.
Blood spread beneath her as her body was torn apart, and the pipa fell beside her.
For a few seconds, everything became silent.
Nolan slowly walked toward her.
His clothes were torn and blood covered parts of his body, but he was still standing.
Violetta struggled to push herself upright, but she couldn’t. Her body was simply too badly injured.
Nolan looked down at her coldly. "You should have stayed dead. This time, I’ll make sure you stay that way."
