Chapter 252: A Lovesick Fool With Power
Selvara frowned slightly.
For a moment, Damian could tell exactly what she was thinking. His master probably believed he was underestimating her.
Selvara was not some ordinary elder, after all. She was one of the strongest sword cultivators in the Heavenly Sword Sect, a woman even the other elders treated carefully.
In her eyes, Nolan was still only a disciple.
Even if he had grown much stronger inside the Sword Tomb, he should not have become dangerous enough to make her hesitate.
Selvara kept her cold gaze fixed on Damian. "Explain."
Damian slowly nodded. "Master, I met Nolan inside the Sword Tomb."
Violetta’s expression immediately changed.
Her fingers tightened around her sleeve again, and the gentleness in her eyes faded beneath a colder look.
Selvara remained silent, waiting for him to continue.
Damian’s voice grew heavier. "And I lost."
The room fell completely quiet.
Violetta immediately looked toward him, obvious worry appearing on her face. "Master..."
Damian raised one hand, gently stopping her from speaking for the moment. "It wasn’t even close."
His expression darkened slightly as he remembered the battle. "I lost one-sidedly and nearly fucking died. If my acting hadn’t been good enough to convince Nolan that I was already dead, he would’ve finished me off completely."
Selvara’s eyes sharpened. For the first time, her expression genuinely shifted.
Damian was shameless, reckless, and troublesome, but Selvara knew his strength better than most people.
If he admitted this openly, without exaggerating or making excuses, then Nolan’s improvement clearly was not something ordinary.
Damian continued, "The reason he was so strong was because Nolan had obtained a King Grade sword inside the Sword Tomb called the [Sunfall King Sword]."
The moment those words left his mouth, Selvara’s attention sharpened even further. Even Violetta’s breathing became slightly unsteady.
Damian did not stop there. "That sword also gave him a King Grade sword art, the [Sunfall Heaven Sword Scripture]."
Selvara’s fingers slowly tightened around her teacup.
Damian looked directly at her. "Worse, he has already mastered its first move, [Dying Sun Buries the World]."
For a moment, the memory of that terrifying golden sword light flashed through Damian’s mind.
A dying sun descending from the heavens.
His chest almost seemed to ache again just from remembering it.
The atmosphere inside the room suddenly felt much colder.
Violetta’s face lost a little of its color.
Selvara remained outwardly composed, but her eyes were no longer relaxed.
Damian spoke slowly, making sure both women understood exactly what he meant. "Master, Nolan is already the Sect Master’s personal disciple."
He lifted one finger. "Now he also possesses a King Grade sword."
A second finger followed. "A King Grade sword art."
Damian raised another. "And he has already successfully comprehended and used the first move of that art."
He paused for a breath. "You know what that means, right?"
Selvara did not immediately answer.
Damian’s gaze turned colder. "It means that among the current disciples of the Heavenly Sword Sect, Nolan is basically the strongest one here."
Violetta lowered her gaze, her fingers trembling faintly against her sleeve.
Damian glanced toward her before turning his attention back to Selvara.
"If we go after him while still thinking he’s the same Nolan as before, then we’ve already made our first mistake."
His voice dropped slightly. "And against someone carrying that much power, one mistake might be enough to get somebody killed."
For several breaths, neither Selvara nor Violetta said anything.
The room remained completely silent as both women absorbed everything Damian had just revealed.
---
Selvara remained silent for several breaths before finally releasing a slow sigh. "You’re right, Damian."
Damian’s eyes shifted slightly.
Selvara’s expression became colder as she considered everything he had just told her.
"We can’t move carelessly anymore. If Nolan truly possesses all of those things, then the Sect Master will protect him even more fiercely than before."
Violetta’s fingers tightened faintly around her sleeve.
Selvara continued, "A King Grade sword and a King Grade sword inheritance are enough to completely change Nolan’s position within the sect."
Her gaze sharpened. "Even if I personally threaten the Sect Master, he may no longer be willing to back down."
Damian blinked. "Damn, Master. You can actually threaten the Sect Master?"
Selvara glanced at him coldly. "Do not underestimate your master."
Damian immediately coughed and straightened his expression. "Fine, fine. Of course. Master is amazing."
Selvara ignored the obvious flattery.
Damian’s expression soon became serious again. "Still, Master, I think Violetta and I should leave this place for now."
Selvara frowned slightly. "Why?"
Damian rubbed his chin. "Because that bastard Nolan is a simp."
Selvara’s gaze immediately became flat.
Damian quickly raised one hand. "A dangerous simp."
His expression turned more serious. "And the person he’s obsessed with is you, Master."
The room became quiet again.
Damian continued, "He could come here at any moment. From his perspective, I already died inside the Sword Tomb."
His eyes sharpened slightly. "If Nolan suddenly comes here and sees me standing around perfectly alive, we’re going to have another problem immediately."
Selvara remained silent as Damian explained further. "He already tried to kill me once in a place where nobody could easily interfere. If he realizes I survived, there’s no guarantee he’ll quietly accept it."
Damian’s expression darkened. "With his new strength and his status as the Sect Master’s disciple, he might even find some bullshit excuse to come after me openly."
Violetta’s gentle expression grew colder.
Damian glanced toward her before continuing. "And if he sees Violetta here too, things become even more fucking troublesome."
Violetta lowered her gaze slightly. She understood exactly what Damian meant. Nolan’s hatred toward her was already incredibly deep.
The recent disasters surrounding his reputation had only made that hatred worse, especially since many of them were connected to Violetta.
If Nolan had previously been restrained because of his position and strength, that restraint might now disappear.
With his cultivation rising, a King Grade inheritance in his hands, and the Sect Master’s protection behind him, his confidence would inevitably become greater.
And a more confident Nolan could also become far more reckless.
Selvara’s brows slowly furrowed deeper. For the first time since Damian entered the room, she genuinely looked troubled.
The person she had once dismissed as nothing more than an irritating, jealous disciple had suddenly become a real problem.
Nolan was no longer simply some lovesick fool chasing after her.
He was now a lovesick fool with strength, status, the Sect Master’s support, and a King Grade inheritance.
That combination was far more dangerous than some ordinary elder or arrogant genius.
Damian quietly watched Selvara’s expression before adding, "That’s why I think Violetta and I shouldn’t stay somewhere Nolan can easily find us until we figure out exactly what he plans to do."
His gaze hardened. "A jealous idiot is annoying."
Damian paused briefly. "A jealous idiot who suddenly has enough power to act on every stupid thought in his head is a completely different fucking problem."
