Chapter 272: Damian Regrets Showing Off
Mirabel led Damian out through the rear entrance of the Scripture Hall.
Behind the pavilion was a secluded training field surrounded by old stone walls and several layers of protective formations.
Judging by its condition, the place clearly wasn’t used very often.
A thin layer of dust covered parts of the ground, while several cracked stone pillars stood around the field like forgotten practice targets.
Mirabel stopped near the edge of the training field and turned toward Damian. "Alright."
She folded her arms beneath her chest. "What exactly do you want to show me?"
Damian’s lips curled upward. "Secret."
Mirabel raised an eyebrow. "Secret?"
Damian’s grin widened. "Just watch."
Mirabel stared at him for several seconds, trying to guess what sort of nonsense he was planning.
In her mind, Damian was probably about to demonstrate some Top-Rank Royal Grade martial art.
That alone would already be impressive for someone at his cultivation level.
After all, Damian had casually handed out Top-Rank Royal Grade art before as though they were expensive gifts rather than things powerful cultivators would fight over.
Mirabel calmly stepped farther back and gestured toward the center of the training field. "Fine."
Her eyes carried obvious curiosity. "Show me."
Damian walked into the middle of the field.
His usual shameless grin remained on his face, but the atmosphere surrounding him gradually began to change.
HUMMMMM...
A faint draconic pressure emerged from his body.
It was initially subtle, almost easy to overlook.
Yet within only a few breaths, the pressure became heavier and more ancient, causing the surrounding air to tremble faintly around him.
Mirabel’s relaxed expression shifted. "Oh?"
Her gaze sharpened as she carefully studied Damian.
"Dragon pressure?"
Damian slowly clenched his right fist.
CRACK!
The air around his arm distorted.
A terrifying draconic force began gathering around his fist, twisting the surrounding Qi into faint spirals as though an ancient beast were slowly awakening within his body.
Mirabel’s arms gradually unfolded.
The casual amusement in her eyes disappeared.
"This aura..."
Her instincts immediately warned her that whatever Damian was preparing was far beyond what she had originally expected.
Damian noticed her reaction, and his grin grew increasingly smug. "Don’t worry, I’ll only use ten percent."
Mirabel frowned. "Ten percent of what?"
Damian didn’t answer. Instead, he planted one foot forward and shot his fist out.
[King Grade Primordial Dragon Crushing Fist - First Fist: Dragon King Shatters the Mountain]
The instant Damian punched...
ROOOOOOOAR!
A phantom dragon roar exploded throughout the training field.
Mirabel’s pupils contracted.
For one terrifying moment, it felt as though an ancient dragon had descended directly behind Damian.
A gigantic phantom dragon head appeared around his fist before transforming into an overwhelming torrent of draconic fist force.
BOOOOOOOOM!
The attack slammed directly into the center of the training field, destroying it in an instant despite the several protective formations that had already been activated.
HUM! HUM! HUM!
Mirabel’s robes and long hair whipped violently behind her as the shockwave swept across the training field, and she instinctively released her qi to protect herself.
Dust and broken stone fragments scattered everywhere before gradually settling.
Silence followed.
The center of the training field was completely fucking ruined.
A massive crater had replaced the area Damian had targeted, while deep cracks spread outward across the stone ground like a spiderweb.
More importantly, traces of dragon-shaped fist intent still lingered above the crater, refusing to disperse even after the attack had ended.
Mirabel stared.
For the first time since Damian had met her, her usual elegant composure completely fucking collapsed.
Her lips parted slightly. "The fuck...?"
Damian slowly lowered his fist.
He turned toward her with an unbearably smug expression. "Pretty good, right?"
Mirabel completely ignored him.
Her gaze remained locked on the slowly fading dragon-shaped fist aura above the shattered ground.
The amusement she usually carried had vanished, and in its place was something far more intense, which is deep obsession. "Interesting..."
Mirabel slowly turned toward Damian, her eyes practically glowing. "Damian... I suddenly really want to dissect you."
Damian’s smug expression instantly disappeared. "...What the fuck?"
Mirabel tilted her head thoughtfully. "I want to see whether there’s some abnormal power inside your body allowing you to obtain all these ridiculous things."
Damian immediately frowned and stepped backward. "Hey, hey! Isn’t the fucking question supposed to be where I got that King Grade art?"
He pointed toward the destroyed training field. "Why the hell did we suddenly jump straight to dissecting me?!"
Mirabel blinked before covering her lips. "Hehehe... sorry, sorry."
She looked completely unapologetic. "I’m simply curious."
Her eyes gleamed dangerously. "I’ve read many records about special people like you. Individuals who suddenly obtain ridiculous opportunities, become terrifyingly powerful, or somehow possess treasures completely beyond their cultivation."
Mirabel tapped her chin. "Chosen ones, children of destiny, heaven-blessed geniuses... whatever name you prefer."
Damian’s mouth twitched. "Fine, fine. Maybe I’m one of those."
He suddenly pointed toward the Scripture Hall. "But Nolan should count too, right? That bastard entered the Sword Tomb and walked out carrying a King Grade sword and its matching scripture."
Damian gave her an accusing look. "So why don’t you go dissect Nolan instead?"
Mirabel paused. "I don’t know him very well."
Damian stared.
Mirabel continued casually, "He also moves around too often."
She sighed regretfully. "It would be troublesome to kidnap him."
Damian’s eyes widened. "Kidnap?!"
Mirabel looked confused by his reaction.
Damian pointed at her. "Damn you! Aren’t you scared of my Master at all?! You literally said Selvara would cut you apart if you touched me!"
Mirabel froze. Her expression went blank for several seconds. Then realization appeared. "Oh."
She lightly tapped her fist against her palm. "I forgot."
Damian nearly suffered a fucking heart attack. "YOU FORGOT?!"
Mirabel laughed softly. "Hehehe... relax, Damian. I haven’t dissected you yet."
Damian shouted back. "YET?!"
He immediately backed away another step. This woman was far crazier than he’d thought.
"This fucking woman is dangerous in an entirely different way. I need to spend less time around her..."
