Chapter 64: [64]: The God-Slayer, 30 Million XP
The holographic timer in Levi’s vision hit exactly [00:15].
Fifteen seconds left on the Diamond-tier [Tear of the Chained] buff. If that timer hit zero, his Strength would plummet, his attack would drop back to 544, and the 85% suppression penalty would slam back into place.
Valdor The Chained was sitting at exactly 100,000 HP.
The boss didn’t bother trying to step on Levi anymore. The obsidian titan raised its arms and began channeling its ultimate wipe mechanic.
A massive, blazing system warning covered the entire UI.
[Warning: Valdor is channeling Cataclysmic Core.]
The chest of the fifty-foot titan cracked open, revealing a blindingly bright core of pure, condensed magma. A violent, magnetic suction effect immediately triggered across the entire Searing Crater. The liquid lava from the surrounding rivers was physically ripped out of the trenches, spiraling upward and getting sucked directly into the boss’s chest.
It was a giant bomb. If that cast finished, it was going to detonate with enough force to wipe the entire zone.
Worse, the magnetic pull was so strong it actually started dragging Levi across the iron platform.
Levi jammed his boots into the metal grates, trying to stop his avatar from sliding. He couldn’t use his class execution skill. [Soul Harvest] explicitly did not work on Boss or Event Boss entities. He couldn’t just cheat the last 20%. He had to burn through the final 100,000 health points entirely manually.
"Hollow’s Ward!" Levi shouted.
He didn’t care about the 755 HP buffer. He just needed the Gold-tier skill’s secondary effect. The absolute immunity to knockbacks and crowd control instantly negated the magnetic pull of the boss’s ultimate.
His boots magnetically locked onto the iron platform. He was perfectly anchored.
He completely abandoned all attempts at evasion. He didn’t need to dodge anymore. It was a pure, unfiltered DPS race.
Levi planted his feet dead center in front of the titan’s exposed leg and let loose.
His 2,980 buffed Attack minus the shredded 960 Defense meant his basic physical strikes were hitting for exactly 2,020 damage.
He swung the Gold-tier scythe with everything he had. Because his 176 Speed gave him an insane swing timer, he was landing exactly four basic hits every single second.
2,020 damage times 4 hits per second equaled exactly 8,080 DPS(Damage Per Second).
[-2,020] [-2,020] [-2,020] [-2,020]
He wove [Hollow’s Guillotine] into the rotation the exact millisecond it came off cooldown, dumping another 100 Mana to unleash the massive 3.5 multiplier cone for a brutal 9,230 burst damage.
[-9,230]
Ten seconds passed in an absolute blur of red damage numbers and splashing lava. Levi was screaming inside the haptic helmet, his real-world arms burning with a searing, lactic-acid fire from forcing the VR engine to process so many heavy swings.
He dealt roughly 90,000 damage in those ten seconds.
The buff timer hit [00:05]. Five seconds left.
Valdor’s health bar was sitting at exactly 10,000 HP.
The massive magma core inside the titan’s chest suddenly turned a blinding, pure white. The magnetic pull stopped. The detonation was about to happen.
"No you don’t!" Levi roared.
He needed to chunk the last 10,000 health before his buff expired. Basic attacks weren’t going to cut it. He needed a massive multiplier.
He didn’t aim for the boss’s thick armor plates. He stepped right up to the titan’s massive leg and jammed the tip of the Sovereign’s Deathknell directly into the shattered, exposed joint of Valdor’s kneecap.
The system instantly registered the precise hit as a Weak Point strike.
[-4,040 CRIT!]
The massive yellow text exploded on the screen. Levi didn’t stop. He furiously ripped the scythe back and forth, completely abusing his attack speed to land three massive critical strikes in a single second.
[-4,040 CRIT!] [-4,040 CRIT!] [-4,040 CRIT!]
That was 12,120 damage in one second.
Valdor’s health bar completely shattered.
The timer in Levi’s vision hit [00:00]. The Diamond buff instantly vanished from his UI. His Strength plummeted from 1,172 back down to his baseline. The overwhelming, suffocating virtual power completely left his avatar, leaving his limbs feeling like wet noodles.
But he was already done.
Valdor The Chained froze completely. The blinding white light inside its chest violently flickered. The titan let out a deafening, corrupted roar that sounded like a crumbling mountain, and then the entire boss imploded.
It didn’t shatter into blue polygons like a normal mob. Valdor turned into a towering pillar of pure white light that shot straight up into the smoky sky, completely clearing the ash clouds above the crater.
A literal mountain of glowing Platinum and Diamond-tier loot boxes crashed down onto the iron platform.
A massive, golden system announcement hijacked the screens of every single player on the server.
[Server Announcement: Server First World Boss Defeated!]
[Player ’Levi’ has slain Valdor The Chained. The real-world merge has been delayed.]
The millions of people watching the livestreams went absolutely nuclear. The crater rim erupted in actual cheering.
Levi just dropped his scythe onto the iron grates and fell to his knees, completely exhausted.
Before he could even process the loot, the blinding crimson aura of the harvest ripped out of the white pillar of light. It was so dense it looked like actual blood. It shot across the platform and slammed directly into Levi’s chest, actually knocking him onto his back.
[Supreme Harvester triggered.]
[World Boss Valdor The Chained’s primary stats are immense.]
[You have plundered +50 to ALL STATS permanently!]
Levi choked on a laugh as the massive, raw injection of stats flooded his system. Fifty points to every single attribute without doing anything.
Then came the XP.
[System Notification: World Boss Defeated. Gained 30,000,000 XP.]
Thirty million experience points!
The golden pillar of progression light crashed down on him over and over again, practically turning the area into a strobe light.
[Level Up! You are now Level 24.]
[Level Up! You are now Level 25.]
[Level Up! You are now Level 26.]
[Level Up! You are now Level 27.]
[Level Up! You are now Level 28.]
The leveling sequence finally stopped. Levi lay on the hot iron platform, letting the system fully restore his health and mana pools. He had just jumped five levels in an instant.
He slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position and opened his status menu to allocate his rewards.
His massive 30,000,000 XP drop, added to his previous 1,250,000 XP, easily pushed him to Level 28. The math from the system deducted the scaling costs, leaving him with exactly 1,250,000 XP remaining out of the 12,000,000 required for Level 29.
He had 25 new free stat points from the five level-ups.
He didn’t hesitate. He assigned 10 to Strength, 10 to Agility, and 5 to Vitality.
The numbers were absolutely staggering for a player only in their twenties.
His base Strength was 172. Add the 50 from the plunder and 10 from his free stats, bringing his permanent Strength to exactly 232.
His Agility jumped from 156, plus the 50 plunder, plus 10 free stats, hitting 216.
His Vitality went from 98, plus the 50 plunder, plus 5 free stats, landing at 153.
His Intelligence gained a flat 50 from the plunder, pushing it to 101. His useless Luck stat also gained 50, hitting 75.
Levi checked his derived stats.
His health pool was now an incredible 3,160 HP.
After doubling his Strength and adding his weapon’s bonus, applying his 20% class passive brought his permanent, unbuffed Total Attack to exactly 724!
His Speed sat at an untouchable 236. His Max Mana bumped to 1,060. His Defense was 183.
He was a walking god.
Levi closed the menu and looked at the massive pile of Diamond-tier loot boxes waiting for him. The Diamond buff had expired, leaving him feeling slightly weak compared to the insane power he just wielded, but his permanent stats were more than enough to handle whatever came next.
He grabbed his scythe and walked toward the boxes. It was time to get paid.
