Bella exchanged glances with Cynthia Young and hesitantly said, "I am honored to be recognized by Director Rowe, but I’m worried my acting skills aren’t good enough, afraid of letting Director Rowe down."

"Ms. Acker, I’ve watched your performances in ’Brocade River and Mountain’ and ’Life and Death’, and they were commendable." Director Rowe said, "When I began preparing for ’I Will Not Be a Concubine’, the first person who came to mind was you. I believe no one fits the role better than you do. "This..." Bella pretended to look troubled as she glanced at Cynthia Young.

Cynthia Young said, "Director Rowe, Bella has just returned to the country and indeed has a lot to handle. You know my personality, what I say is what I mean. How about this, can you give us a day to consider?"
