Chapter 642 - 641: Reunion (37)
Bella listened to Talia’s joyful laughter, and a warm smile spread across her face.
Sharon turned around and said with a smile, "Bella, let’s go over there too."
"Okay." Bella turned her head to look at Ethan, "There’s gravel on the slope here, be careful."
"Sister, I’m not a kid anymore." Ethan felt a bit helpless; he had grown up, but his sister still treated him like a child.
"Yes, yes, our Ethan is already a young man." Bella laughed and patted his shoulder, saying, "Go catch up with Talia. It’s too hot, don’t let her play too much, or she’ll get heatstroke."
"Alright." Ethan nodded and jogged forward.
The eleven-year-old boy, wearing a clean shirt and jeans, ran vigorously through the summer, full of youthful energy.
Sharon looked at Damian, who was a few steps behind, and said to Bella, "Bella, I’ll go over there too and have Old Ford call the assistant to bring the camping gear over. Your shoes have small heels. There are pebbles on this road, so be careful not to twist your ankle."
"Godmother, I’m not a kid anymore either." Bella smiled gently.
"Yes, yes, our Bella is already a tough girl." Sharon replied with the same words she had just used for Ethan, and the two of them laughed together.
After laughing for a while, Sharon said, "Alright, I’ll go check, so Old Ford doesn’t run wild with Talia." With that, she nodded at Damian and quickly chased after the two big ones and the little one who were playing noisily ahead.
Only Bella and Damian were left walking behind.
The breeze blew gently, and the sunflower sea swayed with the wind, filling the air with fragrance.
Although it was the scorching summer, which felt unbearable in the city, here in the suburbs, it had the feeling of a warm spring day.
Bella raised her hand to press down her sun hat, which the wind had lifted slightly, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath, inhaling the pleasant scent of flowers and grass.
Damian walked silently beside her.
If it weren’t for his powerful presence that made it impossible to ignore him, he might have just been part of the background.
Bella pressed down the brim of her hat and turned to look at him, "Mr. Sinclair, did you decide to come along with Director Ford from the start?"
Damian looked at her, "Yes." At least Director Ford had extended the invitation a while ago, but he only agreed last night, so it wasn’t a lie.
Bella lowered her gaze and smiled, nodded, turned, and walked forward without speaking further.
Damian watched her slender back, raising his arm as if to wrap it around her shoulder, but in the end, he only paused mid-air before silently withdrawing it.
Today, Bella wore a fitted white T-shirt, with a plaid scarf tied around her neck. Her lower half was an almond-colored over-the-knee chiffon skirt, paired with skin-toned heeled shoes, making her look both fresh and relaxed.
"Mr. Sinclair, Ms. Acker, excuse us, we need to pass through."
An assistant brought by Director Ford, along with one of Sharon’s assistants, hurriedly walked over carrying the camping gear.
Judging by the weight, these tools were heavy, and the two carrying them seemed to be struggling, so they wanted to pass quickly, otherwise they wouldn’t be rushing.
"You go first." Bella looked back and saw them carrying a lot of things, so she quickly stepped aside to make way for them.
However, this rural gravel path was not like a smooth road; in her haste, Bella didn’t notice her footing, and as her heel stepped on a small stone, it rolled and slipped, causing her to fall forward.
