Chapter 665 - 664: Rule One of Pursuing a Wife (Part 8)
Mr. Sinclair looked at Bella, turned around, and left, ignoring Aiden Hayes’ outstretched hand.
Aiden Hayes nonchalantly withdrew his hand and said, "Are people in this country all this unique?"
"You did that on purpose, didn’t you?" Bella turned to look at him, a suppressed anger in her eyes.
Seeing that she was really upset, Aiden quickly put away his smile and said seriously, "You’ve been thinking about him for so many years, I just wanted to see if he’s really worth it. And given how many times you’ve been upset because of him, I figured he deserved a little lesson to make me feel better."
"You..." Bella’s tense expression softened a bit. "It’s none of your business."
"How can I not care!" Aiden said, "You’re the first woman I’ve truly liked, so your business is my business. How can I not care? Besides, you’ve turned me down for so many years; at the very least, I need to quietly watch over you until you find happiness before I can let go. Otherwise, it just wouldn’t fit my selfless knight character, would it?"
Bella sighed, "It’s not as simple between him and me as you think. Anyway, you can’t act like you did just now anymore, or I really won’t talk to you."
"I just gave him a little nudge, and look how worried you are." Aiden feigned sadness and clutched his chest, saying, "Ungrateful little thing, I’ve silently sacrificed so much for you over the years and never got a single appreciative look. It’s really heart-wrenching."
Bella gave him a sideways glance, three drops of cold sweat dripping down her forehead, "Are we going out for a walk or not?"
"Yes." Aiden changed his expression quicker than flipping a page, immediately flashing a smile and even waving at a passing female staff member.
The female staff member was greeted by this handsome blonde mixed-race guy for the first time, and his smile made her a bit lost in thought. She shyly waved back while somewhat dazed, and ended up bumping into a potted plant at the door.
Bella was speechless, "Menace, can’t you stop ruining good women?" she said, and directly grabbed Aiden’s wrist, dragging him away.
"Bella, are you jealous?" Aiden teased playfully, "Don’t worry, no matter how many women there are, you’re the one I like the most."
"Aiden Hayes, if you keep this up, I’ll seriously want to throw acid on your face." After dragging him out of the studio, Bella immediately let go of his hand.
"Bella, hold on." Aiden said, "Bella, do you know how much insurance I’ve bought for my face? Three hundred million! If you ruin it, the insurance company will surely go after you."
Bella: "..." A face insured for three hundred million, he’s really got money to burn!
"Bella, I’m just saying, you should get some insurance for your face too. Not asking for much, two or three million should do."
"I have two kids to raise, I don’t have that kind of spare cash." Bella said as she walked forward.
Aiden walked beside her and said, "I can buy it for you, consider it my birthday gift for you."
Giving a birthday gift worth two or three million, only this guy could casually say something like that. The thing is, he’s so rich that it doesn’t even come off as bragging.
Bella rolled her eyes to the sky, too lazy to respond.
Aiden caught up, leaning close to her ear and whispered, "Bella..."
Bella disdainfully moved two steps aside, rubbed her ears, and glared at him, "Speak properly!"
Aiden shrugged, "Alright, I just wanted to tell you, Mr. Sinclair is still around."
