Chapter 622 - 621: Reunion (17)
Damian Sinclair didn’t expect Archer Quinn to be the one opening the door, and his gaze darkened as he looked into the room.
Whether intentionally or not, Archer seemed to slightly reposition himself with the door, just enough to block Damian’s view inside.
If Archer hadn’t done that, Damian might have been just guessing. But now, with Archer’s move, Damian was one hundred percent sure Bella Acker was in that private room.
She had only just returned to the country and was already dining with Archer; their relationship was indeed not ordinary.
While emotions surged turbulently inside Damian, his face remained calm.
He acted as if he hadn’t noticed Archer’s subtle motion, coolly and naturally withdrawing his gaze, treating himself as nothing more than a good brother accompanying his sister to confess.
Archer also hadn’t expected to see Damian Sinclair here, slightly regretting booking this restaurant.
Bea, unaware of the internal dramas of these two men, stepped forward and handed the bouquet of red roses she was holding to Archer, saying, "I’m officially pursuing you now. Will you agree to be my boyfriend?"
Archer frowned, "Miss Sinclair, I believe I’ve made myself clear. If you want to play love games, find someone else. I’m not interested."
"Who’s playing love games with you? I’m serious," Bea raised her voice slightly, "Just say whether you’ll agree or not."
"I’m sorry, Miss Sinclair, I..."
Before Archer could finish speaking, Bella’s voice came from behind, "Bea?"
Bea was also taken aback upon hearing her voice, "Bella? What are you doing here?"
"I thought I heard your voice, didn’t expect it was really you." Bella stepped out, saying, "I’m here with Senior Quinn and Shannon for dinner, and you, alone..."
She didn’t finish her sentence as it got caught in her throat. Bella had opened the private room door a little and saw Damian standing outside.
Was this what’s called a fateful encounter?
Who would’ve thought that she’d bring her brother to back her up during her confession, only to run into his ex-girlfriend. How dramatically convoluted.
But since they met, there was no reason for her not to help her brother.
Bea forcefully stuffed the red roses into Archer’s arms and pushed past him to enter the room, saying, "Perfect timing, my brother and I haven’t had dinner yet, let’s all eat together." Saying this, she familiarly made her way inside.
Bella glanced at Damian standing at the door and smiled slightly, "Mr. Sinclair, there’s no invitation like an unexpected meeting. Since you haven’t had dinner, come in and join us."
Her demeanor was natural and composed, without a hint of tension. It was as if, to her, Damian was really just an acquaintance.
Archer glanced at Bella in surprise but quickly masked it.
Damian gave Bella a look and said, "Since Ms. Acker is inviting, I gracefully accept." With that, he truly walked into the private room.
Archer blocked the doorway without moving, and Damian gave him a cold look.
They were nearly the same height, with Damian just slightly taller than Archer.
So as they stood facing each other, neither’s aura was overshadowed by the other’s.
"Mr. Quinn, do you have any objections to Ms. Acker inviting me to dinner?" Damian raised an eyebrow coldly.
Archer looked at him, a slow smile forming on his lips, "I’m just surprised Mr. Sinclair happens to be here so coincidentally. After you." He said, stepping aside to Bella’s side, gesturing an invitation like a host.
