Chapter 623 - 622: Reunion (18)
Damian Sinclair looked on feeling quite glaring, turned his gaze expressionlessly, and walked into the private room.
Archer Quinn closed the door behind him and quietly asked, "Bella, are you okay?"
Bella Acker smiled, "Don’t worry, I’m fine."
How could he not worry?
Others might not know, but he certainly did.
She hadn’t really let go of this man in her heart; her outward calm and collected demeanor was merely a façade.
Over there, Bea walked over to the dining table and asked, "Archer Quinn, where are you sitting?"
Archer Quinn frowned, "To the left of your hand."
Bea glanced back and said to Julian Jennings, "Could you please move over to that spot? I’m his girlfriend, so I want to sit next to him."
Julian Jennings moved over one seat, getting closer to Sandra Woods.
He didn’t say anything, just picked up his bowl and chopsticks and moved over one seat.
Sandra Woods frowned, "Isn’t the seat next to Senior Quinn empty? Why make Julian move?"
"I don’t like having someone on my right when I eat," Bea said as she pulled out a chair and sat down.
Sandra Woods wasn’t pleased, "Spoiled young ladies do have a lot of quirks." Normally, she wouldn’t act like this, but seeing Bea’s attitude towards having Julian move over made her feel like Julian was being bullied, which displeased her.
There’s a feeling of "I can bully this fool, but if anyone else does, I’m not happy about it."
Bea lifted her eyelids and glanced at Sandra Woods, snorted without pursuing the matter, and simply said, "Archer Quinn, get two sets of utensils from the sterilizer nearby."
Archer Quinn’s eyelid twitched, Bella Acker softly said, "I’ll go get them."
"You go and sit. I’ll go get them," Archer Quinn went over.
Bella Acker returned to the dining table, and Damian Sinclair, for some unknown reason, chose the seat between her and Senior Quinn when there were two empty seats next to them.
"Mr. Sinclair, this seat might be a bit cramped. Why not sit over here?" Bella Acker sat down, smiling as she sought his opinion.
Damian Sinclair gave her a disdainful glance without answering, but his demeanor spoke volumes.
No matter how cramped this seat is, he’s determined to sit here.
Bella Acker sighed almost imperceptibly, having no choice but to move her utensils to the adjacent seat and shift the chair, making more space for him.
Damian Sinclair watched her actions, raising an eyebrow, "Ms. Acker is avoiding me as if I have the plague or some contagious disease?"
Those words caught everyone in the private room by surprise.
Bea helplessly held her forehead, wondering what her brother was doing. Why was he acting maniacally today?
First, he answers her call with a bunch of nonsense, and now he’s acting as if everyone owes him billions.
Could it all be because of Bella Acker?
Sandra Woods glanced at Damian Sinclair, then at Bella Acker, using her eyes to inquire about the situation.
"Mr. Sinclair is really humorous," Bella Acker lowered her eyes and smiled, "In Creston, who wouldn’t want to chat a bit more with Mr. Sinclair? I’m no exception. It’s just that this space isn’t too wide; I was afraid it might disrupt Mr. Sinclair’s meal."
She handled it smoothly, her tone calm and gentle, and Bea was surprised upon hearing her response, turning her head to look at her.
When they first entered the room, Bea noted Bella Acker seemed different, thinking she had merely learned to dress better and didn’t dwell on it. But now, hearing her calmly respond to her brother’s sarcasm, Bea was truly astonished.
