Chapter 651 - 650: Reunion (46)
Oh my!
Damian Sinclair actually dared to question her abilities as a mother? Is he deliberately picking a fight again?
Bella Acker snorted, "Mr. Sinclair, how I teach my daughter seems to be my business and has nothing to do with you, right?"
Damian Sinclair frowned.
Bella Acker couldn’t be bothered with him anymore, picked up her favorite dishes, and headed towards the barbecue.
The little girl watched Bella leave, then looked up at the silent Damian Sinclair, thinking this uncle’s affection for mommy seemed a bit pathetic.
"Uncle, you shouldn’t talk to mommy like that." Talia said seriously, "Mommy has a soft heart, if you act pitifully, she won’t be mad at you."
Damian Sinclair didn’t know how to respond. In his thirty-three years of life, he had never acted pitiful in front of anyone.
The little girl shook her head, thinking that although this uncle was handsome, his emotional intelligence was low, and he didn’t even know how to pursue a girl.
It seemed she had to step in and help.
The little girl sighed, "Uncle, don’t worry, I’ll help you."
Sharon Cheney interjected, "Talia, don’t meddle in adult matters, or mommy will be upset. Come, grandma will take you to fly a kite." She said, taking Talia’s hand and smiling at Damian Sinclair as she led the little girl away.
The little girl put her hands behind her back and secretly gave Damian Sinclair an OK gesture.
Damian Sinclair felt a bit emotional; could it be that girls raised abroad really mature faster? Talia’s intelligence and behaviors didn’t seem like those of a three-year-old at all.
Director Ford had already grilled some food and shouted to Damian Sinclair, "President Sinclair, come over for drinks."
Damian Sinclair complied and went back. Bella Acker was helping with skewering the food. When she saw him returning, she pretended not to see him, turning slightly away to ignore him.
"I’m sorry." Damian Sinclair squatted beside her, taking the ribs and skewers from her hands, "These are greasy and spicy; your hands might feel uncomfortable. Let me do it."
Bella Acker was not expecting him to apologize, because before, even when they were together, he rarely apologized after arguments.
Stunned for a moment, Bella Acker picked up a skewer and continued with the ribs, "Your hand is injured, getting these on won’t clean off easily."
Damian Sinclair almost imperceptibly raised an eyebrow, so she just wasn’t angry anymore?
It seemed what the little girl said wasn’t entirely baseless.
Damian Sinclair softened his tone, saying, "I really like Talia."
Bella’s hand paused almost imperceptibly before returning to normal, "To be liked by Mr. Sinclair, that’s Talia’s honor."
"I want to recognize Talia as my daughter."
"What?! Ow!" Bella Acker suddenly looked up at him, too shocked, she lost control of her strength, and the skewer stabbed her finger.
"How could you be so careless?" Damian Sinclair dropped his skewer and immediately grabbed her hand, turning his head to say, "Ms. Cheney, where’s the first aid kit?"
"What’s going on? Did Bella hurt her hand?" Sharon Cheney quickly went to the tent to get the first aid kit.
"It’s nothing..." Bella Acker initially wanted to say it was nothing, just a small poke with a bit of skin coming off.
But as soon as she began to speak, Damian Sinclair glanced at her and directly pulled her over.
Damian Sinclair first tore a wet wipe to clean the oil and chili from her hand, then sprayed a bit of iodine for disinfection, before finally applying a band-aid to the wound.
Bella Acker watched him seriously tend to her wound and quietly asked, "Were you serious about what you said just now?"
