Chapter 709 - 708: Then Give Mommy a Kiss (1)
The little girl looked up with her exquisitely carved, doll-like face, her round eyes filled with expectation.
Damian Sinclair looked at her, and his frustration eased quite a bit. He reached out to tuck her hair behind her ear and said, "Daddy is not mad at Mommy."
"Really?" The little girl blinked her eyes.
"Really, Daddy wouldn’t lie to Talia." Damian nodded.
Upon hearing this, the little girl glanced back at Bella Acker, her eyes immediately brightened, "Daddy, if you’re really not mad at Mommy, then give her a kiss."
Bella Acker’s body tensed. Was the little darling helping her or Damian Sinclair?
The little girl shook Damian Sinclair’s arm, looking pitifully, "Daddy, you really are mad at Mommy." As she spoke, her big eyes were already filling with tears.
"That’s not the case." Damian Sinclair gently ruffled the girl’s hair and turned to look at Bella Acker.
Bella Acker felt somewhat embarrassed and looked away.
"Mommy..." The little girl called out to her pitifully.
Bella Acker sighed, "Whether I’m mad or not has nothing to do with giving a kiss."
"Yes, it does." The little girl said seriously, "When I’m mad, I can’t give a kiss."
"Mommy is different from you."
The little girl began to pout, "Mommy and Daddy not making up makes me so sad." As she continued, tears welled up more and more, about to burst out.
Damian Sinclair said, "The child is so sad, don’t let her be upset."
What’s all this about?
Bella Acker glared at him. Does he not understand like the child does?
Damian Sinclair said to the little girl, "Mommy doesn’t want Daddy to kiss her, Daddy really isn’t mad at Mommy."
"Mommy, I’m... going to cry."
"Stop, stop, stop!" Bella Acker reluctantly compromised, "You can only kiss my hand once." This was already the biggest concession she could make to Talia’s antics.
The little girl sighed, "Barely, okay."
What do you mean barely okay, she was the one sacrificing the most, wasn’t she?
Bella Acker couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the car roof, extending her hand across the table.
She appeared indifferent, as if she didn’t care, but her heart was pounding, almost jumping out of her throat, her whole body involuntarily tensed.
"Daddy, kiss." The little girl urged.
Damian Sinclair glanced at Bella Acker, reached out and gently pinched her fingertip.
Bella Acker’s hand trembled slightly, her lips were already pressed tightly together.
Damian Sinclair looked at her and said, "I am not mad because I understand that the consequence of my anger would be completely losing you." As he spoke, he lowered his head and pretended to kiss her hand very lightly, so lightly that his lips barely touched her hand.
Though he didn’t actually kiss her, his breath brushed against the back of her hand like a branding iron, causing her to withdraw her hand suddenly. She clutched it tightly with her other hand and turned to look out the car window, trying to hide the panic she felt inside.
But her flushed ears and neck betrayed her emotions.
The little girl covered her mouth with a small hand and giggled secretly. Damian Sinclair curled his finger and lightly tapped the bridge of her nose, saying, "No bullying Mommy from now on, okay?"
"Uh-huh. I like Mommy the most." The little girl immediately nodded in agreement and added, "Daddy, you can’t bully Mommy either."
"Okay." Damian Sinclair set the little girl on the ground, signaling her to go comfort Bella Acker.
The little girl winked at him and shuffled over to Bella Acker’s side.
