Chapter 673 - 672: The First Rule of Chasing Your Wife (16)
The business meeting went very smoothly, and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Without realizing it, they chatted for several hours, and when it was time to leave, they felt there were still some things in the script they hadn’t finished discussing. So, they found a tea room and talked for another two hours before finally wrapping up.
Watching Director Simons get into his car and leave, Bella finally relaxed the tense string she had been holding tight.
Cynthia Young glanced at her watch; it was already past four in the afternoon.
"Having interrupted your lunch with your friend, is your friend mad?"
Bella laughed, "He’s not that petty. We’ve arranged to have hot pot together for dinner. Ms. Young, if you don’t have any other appointments on your wrist, why don’t you join us? I’ve been back for a few days but haven’t had a meal with you yet."
"Sure." Cynthia did indeed have nothing planned for the evening.
"Great. I’ll give Ms. Flynn a call later to see if she has any other plans for the evening." Bella said with a smile, "Thank you for all your hard work today, Ms. Young."
Cynthia also smiled, "Since Director Simons has made up his mind to use ’Unfinished Life’ to compete for an award, he will definitely build relationships in advance. As long as your acting isn’t too poor, even if you don’t win Best Actress, you’ll at least get nominated. That’s a great spotlight opportunity for you, so once the script is sent over, study the character’s traits carefully and give your best performance. However, there will be a half-month schedule conflict between ’Unfinished Life’ and ’I Will Not Be a Concubine’, so you might have to shuttle between the two sets during that time. It will be tough just coming back to the country."
"I don’t mind hard work; what I fear is not having a place to work hard." Bella said, "Ms. Young, I really need to thank you. If it weren’t for you, having just returned to the country, it wouldn’t have been possible for me to land two leading roles so quickly."
"I’m only managing you as my one and only artist right now. If I can’t make you a star, it’d ruin my reputation as a top manager, wouldn’t it?" Cynthia said, "Alright, I still have some work to handle and need to go back to the studio. You don’t have to come in this afternoon since you have nothing else scheduled. The script for ’I Will Not Be a Concubine’ will be delivered tomorrow. I’ll have Judy Zimmerman bring it to your home, so you can study it there and wait to join the crew without coming to the studio."
"Okay." Bella nodded.
Cynthia was a no-nonsense person, and once the conversation was over, she didn’t linger, "Then I’ll be off. Did you drive over or take a cab?"
"Ms. Young, you go ahead, don’t worry about me." Bella replied.
Cynthia nodded and left with her car.
Bella raised her head to look at the sky from under the eaves, avoiding the glaring sun. The summer sky was as blue as if it had been washed by water.
Bella took out her phone and dialed Aiden Hayes, "Are you guys done talking?"
Aiden’s voice came through the phone, "Not yet. Are you finished?"
"Yes. You guys continue, I’m going to go pick up Talia and Ethan."
"We’re almost done too. You go pick up little Talia and then come over, I’ll send the address to your phone." After finalizing the plans, Aiden hung up.
Damian Sinclair didn’t say anything, and his face showed no expression, but he felt a bit upset inside.
She called Aiden and didn’t call him, he felt displeased.
"Mr. Sinclair, you probably don’t have Bella’s new phone number yet, do you?" Aiden put away his phone and smiled like a fox, "I’ll give you Bella’s phone number if you give me 0.0001%, how about it?"
"Deal."
