Chapter 148: Thousand Kills
Tyler drew his sword. In an instant, his body flashed beyond three people, his sword moving at lightning speed as he drew their blood.
Their necks were split open, and their heads rolled.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
This sudden change startled the enemy. Nearly thirty of them raised their hands towards Tyler and started releasing an enormous amount of mana.
[Phoenix Fire Technique]
They roared, channeling all of their mana into the flames that took the shape of a large phoenix.
It roared, creating a very high temperature around it, and rushed towards Tyler at an extraordinary speed.
"Oh? A combination technique!"
Tyler found it surprising, but he didn’t care much about this technique. He closed his eyes for a split moment, releasing his Invincible Sword Intent.
In an instant, everyone on the battlefield felt their minds tearing apart as his Sword Intent made its first appearance on this battlefield.
"Wh-wh-what is that?"
Kuro shouted, his eyes looking bloodshot as he looked at Tyler’s sword.
Mike’s heartbeat soared.
"I’ve heard about it. Very few talented individuals who pour their heart and soul into learning the Art of Swordsmanship awaken something far beyond mortal comprehension."
"It’s a Sword Intent, the power that can cleave the mountain and seas."
Mike roared, his voice showing enthusiasm and hope despite not realizing that Tyler didn’t care about his country.
[Eternal Spring Sword Technique]
Tyler’s body suddenly turned into wind. He flashed behind the phoenix with his sword lightly passing through the neck of the fire phoenix.
[Gentleness of Mortal]
He raised his hand and slowly put the sword in the sheath.
Whoosh!
Behind him, the phoenix was split in half from its neck.
In just a few seconds, it disappeared, releasing all of its residual mana into the atmosphere.
But Tyler didn’t stop there.
He moved. His feet started running; every step covered several feet as he reached in front of his enemies.
His hand unsheathed the sword and started swinging at his enemies.
It moved so fast that most of those people didn’t even see his attack coming. They tried to use their instinct, but it failed.
Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash!
The blood splattered everywhere; corpses started falling to the ground.
Tyler’s figure moved from one place to another. His speed surpassed their reaction limit, allowing him to kill them without losing much mana.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a certain cultivator launched a purple halo towards him. It moved so fast that Tyler had no choice but to stop his slaughter and dodge it.
When the halo reached behind it, it targeted several of its user’s allies.
A single touch of that halo started causing decay to their cells, rapidly draining their life force.
"Ahhh! Someone save me!"
"Kirito! It’s Kirito’s technique."
"Damn it! That bastard, we told him not to lose control of his abilities."
The screams of those people were horrifying. At this moment, even Tyler was surprised by the power of that halo.
"Law of Decay!"
A surprised voice rang in his mind.
Without waiting for Tyler, Jenny continued.
"Decay Law is one of the strongest laws due to its nature being closest to Death and Destruction."
"Unlike Death and Destruction, Decay is also connected to the Law of Time, the Law of Life, and the Law of Creation."
"This makes it very difficult for the Law to comprehend, as one needs to be able to understand the basics of those laws."
"For this guy to awaken such a technique, he is a talent."
Hearing her words, Tyler turned his eyes towards a man with pale cheeks and a malnourished body.
It was surprising that a cultivator could be so malnourished, especially a cultivator at Treasured Body Realm.
Because of the noise, Tyler didn’t care about someone listening to his conversation, so he spoke in a small voice.
"Jenny, is his body a side effect of that technique? After all, you said it is one of the most powerful laws in the universe."
"Of course!"
Jenny rolled her eyes inside the tower and said.
"Can’t you see nobody is approaching him? It’s clear that his body is leaking Decay Mana."
"This happens because his body isn’t strong enough to bear the impact of his Decay Mana, even though it was born in him."
Hearing that, Tyler asked.
"What would happen if I used Void Mana to touch him?"
"Nothing!"
Jenny shook her head.
"While Decay Mana is strong, Void Mana is even stronger. It’s a higher form of Space Mana while Space Mana is already comparable to Decay Mana."
Hearing that, Tyler nodded and used Instant Steps.
As he approached Kirito, he sensed a great danger around him.
Tyler didn’t hurry up to touch him; instead, he placed his hand on his chin and said.
"It seems like you have a powerful technique, but it has been your curse."
When others saw Tyler approaching Kirito, they immediately became excited.
"Kirito, what are you waiting there for?"
"Touch him! Kill him! You can just kill him by touching him."
"Kirito, do it!"
Even Kuro roared.
Mike didn’t understand why Tyler was being so careless, but he couldn’t afford to lose Tyler.
"Shiro, be careful with that boy! Don’t let him touch you."
"I’m sorry."
Kirito apologized, showing pity and suffering in his eyes as he raised his hand towards Tyler.
Just as he moved his hand, he couldn’t bear to look at the result, so he unconsciously closed his eyes and lowered his head.
"Shiro!"
Mike roared, not understanding why Tyler was just standing there.
But when Kirito touched Tyler, nothing happened.
There was a deep silence on the battlefield. Nobody understood what was going on.
Especially people from the alliance could not understand why Kirito’s touch wasn’t killing Tyler.
A minute passed, and Kirito slowly opened his eyes.
"Huh?"
He blinked his eyes and stared at Tyler in shock.
"Are you surprised?"
Tyler chuckled. He was coating his body with void mana, so the decay mana couldn’t penetrate his body.
Without the power of decay mana affecting him, Kirito couldn’t do anything.
"It seems like you are a good person."
Tyler muttered before he suddenly disappeared in front of Kirito and appeared behind him.
With a simple chop on the back of his neck, Kirito lost consciousness.
"For now, you should just sleep."
He placed Kirito on the ground and turned around.
"Alright! It’s time to end this!"
He rushed towards the enemies. Before they could regain their senses, nearly dozens of them were killed.
Tyler’s sword was moving like a viper, each strike killing a cultivator.
More importantly, he was moving so fast that they weren’t able to keep up with him.
Of course, Tyler still had his powers sealed. He was only using the peak of the Treasured Body Realm’s strength.
But with his mana alone, he possessed the strength of a Master.
Not to mention, the recent improvement of his swordsmanship was so massive that his Sword Intent alone managed to freeze his opponents.
Except for people with exceptional technique like Kirito, most people wouldn’t even be able to move in his presence.
Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash!
He cut. He moved. He cut. He moved. He cut. He moved.
Every passing second, his sword was cutting an enemy while his body was moving around the battlefield.
His figure was slowly transforming into his Sword Intent State, with his swordsmanship slowly improving as well.
Although they were weaker enemies, he needed this kind of battle to improve his swordsmanship.
Because a sword was a weapon of slaughter.
The more he killed, the stronger his Sword Intent became.
"Die!"
Kuro suddenly appeared in front of him like a shadow, with his hammer striking Tyler from the side.
But suddenly, Tyler’s body turned into a blur as he passed by Kuro, and his sword crossed Kuro’s neck.
Only after appearing behind him did Tyler pause.
"What was that? A speed bump?"
Tyler shook his head, no longer caring about the enemy he just killed. He continued moving towards the remaining cultivators, harvesting their lives.
It looked like he was cutting the weeds from a garden.
It looked that easy. Considering there were nine hundred of those alive on the battlefield, Tyler alone was killing that number.
"Is this the true strength of a swordsman with Sword Intent?"
Mike just stared at the battlefield in shock as he watched Tyler kill his enemies with ease.
But what surprised him was Tyler’s precision.
He couldn’t understand how Tyler could be so precise, with his kills not affecting his allies.
Tyler’s sword kept moving through the last crowd of enemies. They were running for their lives, running towards their country.
But Tyler had no intention of stopping.
The moment he decided to join the war, he was ready for this kind of bloodshed.
So, he did exactly what he thought.
Killing! Killing! Killing!
Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash! Splash!
Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud! Thud!
As the final body fell to the ground, Tyler stopped for a moment, and the silver aura around his body disappeared.
At this moment, a sole warrior stood among the corpses of thousands of people with blood flowing through his sword and body.
This was Tyler’s first thousand kills!
