Chapter 143: Kills
Even though the other cultivators tried their best not to be distracted, they still couldn’t help but look over.
Tyler was killing these people as if he were chopping vegetables.
Because of their distractions, the fighting almost stopped until one of them took advantage of the others’ carelessness and stabbed him through the chest.
This person happened to be from the enemy side. He didn’t hesitate to use this moment to kill more of his enemies.
Fortunately, the other cultivators reacted quickly and started blocking their enemies’ attacks.
Their distraction alone caused a lot of deaths, equaling the total number of people Tyler managed to kill in such a short time.
"Damn it! You monster, your opponent is me."
An angry roar came from the side as a Soul Sublimation Realm cultivator rushed towards Tyler with a large saber.
He swung his saber towards Tyler, trying to cleave him with a single strike, but Tyler casually blocked it.
When the opponent tried to put pressure on Tyler, he found that Tyler’s strength wasn’t much weaker than his.
Tyler was suppressing himself, but it was only to the level of peak Treasured Body Realm.
That meant his physical strength was around forty thousand kilograms, which should’ve been destroyed by the opponent’s strength.
But the quality and quantity of his mana weren’t suppressed. This allowed him to boost his strength to the same level as his opponent.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
The opponent quickly pulled his saber, releasing a metal rod from his left palm. He used the metal rod to stop the sword while he raised his right hand.
He swung his hand down, moving the sharp side of the sword towards Tyler’s neck.
"Are you underestimating me?"
Tyler’s eyes flared with anger as a sharp sword energy emerged from the edge of his sword, tearing the metal rod in half.
He quickly moved his sword against the saber, blocking it before that slash reached him.
"Such a horrifying sword energy! Who are you? You are not from Purple Cloud Country, are you?"
His opponent gritted his teeth, trying to identify Tyler but being unable to do so.
"My name is Shiro. Yes, I just came to this country."
Tyler chuckled as he replied.
Then, he made a quick combo with his sword, launching a horizontal slash, a diagonal slash, an upper cut slash, and a vertical slash.
His movement was so fluid that his opponent could barely make moves to block all of Shiro’s attacks.
On the last vertical slash, his control over the saber was disturbed, allowing Tyler to smash it down.
Splash!
The tip of his sword tore through his skin, leaving a large sword mark on his chest.
Tyler spun, landing a kick on his chest. As his opponent flew back, Tyler raised his hand, gathering a large amount of sword energy into his sword.
[Sword Drawing Technique]
[Mountain Slaying Sword]
A massive blue slash emerged from his sword, tearing through the ground as it reached the man flying in the air.
"Ahhhhh!"
Unlike before, he could no longer contain his pain as the blue slash struck between the legs, tearing that part of his body in half.
"Tch! That was quite a cruel move."
Tyler muttered as he channeled mana into his legs.
[Instant Steps]
Although this was a technique he learned a long time ago, even now, this was probably one of his fastest movement techniques.
That’s because he didn’t have full control over his Light Speed Movement.
Tyler’s sword moved, taking the lives of other cultivators with one strike per person.
Even though he was quickly pushed to using three or four slashes, his combat experience kept growing.
Tyler’s problem wasn’t combat IQ. He had that, but he didn’t have the experience.
While his combat intelligence allowed him to predict his opponent’s movement and launch an attack, they could also predict his movement.
After all, he was using logical reasoning for every move. Every single one of the cultivators on the opponent’s side had more experience than him.
But as they predicted his next attacks, forcing him to use more time to kill just one person.
It also gave him an incredible level of insight into his mistakes, allowing him to quickly gain more experience with each fight.
Splash! Splash!
Tyler kept slashing them with his swords, leaving almost not a single mark on his body.
Of course, the blood of his enemies did splash into his body, but wounds?
They didn’t exist.
It might feel weird, but considering Tyler’s strength, killing all of them with a single strike wouldn’t be a problem.
But to gain more experience, Tyler had sealed a portion of his strength, forcing him to use his brain during the battle.
Although his enemies had different techniques, he quickly came to the realization that most of them came under five basic elements.
There were a few people with distinct techniques, but they were either weird, like creating a belt, or completely useless, like creating bubbles.
More importantly, they weren’t even creative with their techniques.
Of course, it could also be because he killed them too fast that he didn’t get to see the full extent of those powers.
Regardless, with Tyler’s presence, their team ended the battle within half an hour.
That’s only because Tyler had no choice but to leave most of his opponent to his comrades, only interfering when they were in great danger.
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Mike started clapping.
"Congratulations on being the first team with the lowest number of casualties."
"Although it is thanks to one man, I’m glad to see all of you survive this battle."
Out of nearly two hundred people, only twenty died.
This was quite a surprise but also an understandable truth. Tyler’s strength was probably above Mike’s and his partner’s.
Mike’s partner looked at Tyler and nodded.
"It’s good that you were present this time; otherwise we would’ve all died."
Mike nodded.
"They dared to send three Soul Sublimation Realm cultivators at once. It seems like they are going all out."
"But what’s even more surprising is that you managed to kill a Master with such ease."
Tyler waved his hand and said.
"It’s nothing. That guy was too weak."
Although he said it in a nonchalant tone, his words were quite offensive for Mike and his partners.
Even so, they didn’t take offense at his words and said.
"Alright!"
He pointed at a large building in the distance and said.
"That is your home. There will be room and clothes prepared for you. Of course, food will also be prepared after you take the key to your room."
"You can all go now!"
Hearing his words, everyone nodded and rushed towards the hotel. Most of them were either injured or covered in blood.
They wanted to take a bath and recover. Tyler specifically wanted a bath.
Mike and his partner rushed towards the border, trying to assess the situation and the next threat.
"Hello, my name is Sean."
One of the cultivators approached Tyler with a gentle smile on his face and said.
"Thank you for saving my life back then!"
Hearing that, Tyler nodded.
"I got the kill."
Sean shook his head.
"If you hadn’t made a move to save me, you would’ve still gotten that kill."
Tyler clicked his tongue.
"Alright! I didn’t like leaving you guys to die when I could save you."
Hearing that, Sean nodded and asked.
"Is that why you chose Purple Cloud Country?"
Tyler gave him a surprised look and asked.
"Why do you think so?"
"If you just wanted to use the Mid-Grade Spirit Vein, you could’ve joined the other two countries and helped them conquer this place."
"With your strength, it shouldn’t be difficult."
Tyler paused. He looked at Sean with a surprised gaze. He did think like that.
When he realized this place was being guarded by powerful people, he had two choices.
He could either go to the other two countries or choose to stay under this.
He chose Purple Cloud Country because it was losing a lot of its forces despite producing higher-level cultivators.
Tyler didn’t like the fact that the higher-ups of this country were ignoring the weaker people while keeping the stronger people in the back.
Just like their platoon!
They only had one Soul Sublimation Realm cultivator.
The problem was that this country had more than five hundred of those, not including masters from various families.
"You are right."
Tyler nodded and silently walked forward.
Sean wanted to continue his conversation with Tyler, but Tyler had already entered the building.
He went to the receptionist to find his room, making it difficult for Sean to start a conversation.
"That guy is too cold."
Another man muttered.
"Shut up! He might be cold, but he is an amazing person."
A cultivator standing next to Sean scolded that person and patted Sean on his shoulder.
"Good for you! I also wanted to thank him, but I didn’t have the courage to speak. That guy fought like a death reaper on the battlefield."
