Chapter 233: Terrorists’ Warehouse Raid
I angled myself as I flew down towards the direction of the warehouses, altering my gravity to slow myself down to a stop and landing gently on the ground.
I made sure I was out of sight and as long as no one was looking up from the warehouse, I should not have been spotted.
Looking around to double check that there was no one around, I then opened up a teleportation door and watched it swing open, allowing my Guardians to step through.
Hey, this definitely beats running through the city on a centauress’s back with everyone of us balanced on a wooden platform, ok?
And the next choice was to just take a taxi here which I thought was an even dumber idea so I just flew here myself instead.
After all... Even if I was seen flying around, it wouldn’t even be that big of a surprise since there’s people with flying powers as well. I wasn’t even the only one that was flying in the air when I got here either so no one would have battered an eye at me even if they saw me.
"My Lord," Olivia greeted, stepping through the door with the rest of my Guardians behind her.
We turned to look at the cluster of warehouses that had a large wall around the perimeter and a gate that was being watched by cameras and a security outpost.
"First things first... This is the location that we managed to get from interrogating those terrorists?"
Olivia nodded, "Yes, my Lord. They have confirmed that this was their base of operations within this region."
"Hmm... Are we absolutely sure that those people are members of the League of Mortals?" I asked, jerking my thumb in the direction of the warehouses.
"I made sure to double check on the information that we were given by the Bureau and the clearest piece of evidence was that the cars that we saw earlier today all left this exact compound before heading to us."
"Right... And are there any ordinary workers in there?"
She shook her head, "I checked if there was a legitimate company that owns the warehouses and it showed that there was none. Anyone who is inside would have to be a part of that group to be in there."
Leena cocked the handle on her machinegun, "That means it’s a target rich environment..."
That’s one way to put it...
Sergei cracked his neck, "What’s the plan, Mortal God?"
Funny he would ask me because during one of our vigilante nights out, we also had to deal with a bunch of thugs that were holed up in an abandoned warehouse and he also asked me the same thing.
Before I could answer though, Valletta was smiling at me while bringing up her finger to give it a lick.
"Why is there even a need to plan, Master? You could just go ahead and smash the entire place by yourself, right?"
I grimaced, "That’s the thing I want to avoid. I would like to keep property damage down to a minimum if I am able to help it. Also, this is a civilian area so I don’t want to involve any civilians in this by going in too loud."
She didn’t seem put off by my words and giggled, "Ufufufu~ My Master really does have a lot of consideration for the masses~"
Well... There’s also the point of not wanting to be seen as a giant prick because I know for a fact that even if you’re a Mortal God, people will still hate you if you just mindlessly destroy their stuff even if it’s for the sake of saving them.
Of course, I would do it if I have no choice but I would like to keep that at a minimum if I could help it.
I nod, "Simple plan. I go in through the front gate and get their attention, you guys split off into teams and engage them from the sides and the back. Capture anyone important, kill everyone else."
Olivia opened her mouth as though to protest but surprisingly shut her mouth pretty quickly and nodded to agree with my plan.
I didn’t question it and left my Guardians to split off into teams of their own while I strolled towards the main gate.
There were few people on the street at this time of the day and fewer still moving close to the warehouse walls.
One of them was a man that was leaning against the wall swiping on his phone idly and when he noticed me walking up to him, he looked up and his eyes widened upon seeing my mask.
He exposed himself as one of the terrorists when he reached for his waist where a pistol holster could be seen strapped on his belt that had been hidden by his jacket earlier, clearly intending to use it against me.
I did not give him a chance to draw as I rushed forward, closing the distance between us faster than he could even unclasp the weapon from the holster.
I grabbed his neck and squeezed, snapping it and letting his corpse drop on the ground.
Sentries like him were not worth leaving alive since I doubt they would know more than the group we had already captured.
I continued to the gate and did not even slow down as I lifted up my foot and kicked at the gate, sending the entire metallic wall flying into the compound of the warehouse cluster.
That should get all their attention focused on me so my Guardians can ambush them~
There was one guy who had been sitting inside the security room who had been asleep and got violently woken up by the sound.
Just like the sentry outside, he gaped at me when he saw my mask and his arms immediately lit up with what looked like earthen shards.
He tried to shoot them at me but I moved one of my floating arms in the way, letting it take the brunt of the hit before I smashed through the glass of the security room to grab him with my other floating arm.
He only had time to gasp before I crushed him with it, his body letting out a loud crack as his bones snapped.
I turned to look at the interior of the warehouse compound and this place was definitely not a legitimate business since I could already see a few crates of weapons laying around the place.
And as if to confirm my thoughts, I could already see multiple groups of people rushing out from the warehouses, some of them with weapons and the others with their abilities flaring up around them.
"That’s the Singaporean Mortal God!!"
"Why is he here?!"
"How did he find our hideout?!"
"Kill him!"
I slammed my floating arm down in front of me and projected a shield right as bullets and elemental projectiles were shot at me.
I felt the impact on my shield and raised my other floating arm to charge it up with lightning before shooting it forward, catching several of the terrorists at the front with the blast and electrocuting them into charred corpses.
That made the survivors dive for cover as they split themselves up to hide behind the boxes and crates that were left scattered around the compound of the warehouse cluster.
I marched forward, making sure that all of their attention was on me even as I watched a few of my Guardians climb over the wall on the other side of the compound.
I tried to test out Valletta’s abilities which I believed was related to controlling metal and tried to move the metal boxes that one group of people were hiding behind.
I was hoping to make them fly off and smash into the people behind but I realised I could only move them slowly instead of shooting them like what Valletta could do.
Still, it achieved the intended effect as the top crate came toppling down to smash on top of the guy hiding behind it, knocking him to the ground.
I would have wanted to try Liliac’s skill as well but I don’t have any seeds on me so I just went ahead to knock over more of the crates to send them tumbling down on the terrorists hiding behind them.
As though using that as the cue, my Guardians suddenly burst out from behind them with Olivia leading the charge, my red Oni crashing through them and literally punching heads and limbs off.
I understood now why she did not complain as I quite literally handed her a free pass to go wild and fight all she wanted amongst these guys.
The rest of my Guardians crash into the terrorists from behind as well, hammering them into the anvil that was me.
With their forces suddenly engaged in a battle of two fronts, I leapt in as well, smashing down on top of them and wiping out the remains that were outside the warehouse quickly.
Now that the outside was clear... It’s time for the inside.
