What Do You Mean I Have To Comprehend Dao As A Mortal God?

I steepled my fingers in front of me as I sat at the head of a rectangular table.

To my right were Olivia and Ava with Ava seated closest to me.

To my left were Siti and Diana with Siti seated closest to me.

Both pairs of women had been staring at their counterparts across the table for the past few minutes, neither side saying a word.

I wanted to speak but it felt like the moment I did, the tension would shatter and a fight might break out or something.

I turned to peek at the staff and all of them were huddled together in the corner behind the counter while watching our table like they were preparing for some bomb to go off.

Well... I can understand them since it felt like I was sitting in front of a bomb waiting to go off as well.

I decided that just sitting here wasn’t making things any better so I slowly got out of my chair to stand up.

The four women immediately snapped their attention to me, their eyes practically boring into me and drilling holes through my body as they silently questioned where I might be going.

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... Err... We came up to eat didn’t we? Want me to get anything for you girls? Some drinks maybe? I can just go get some for you all with my extra arms."

The girls all shared a look with each other and, for the first time since they stepped into the lounge, the look they gave each other was no one that was charged with a threat of violence.

Olivia immediately tried to stand up, "It’s alright, my Lord. I will go get it myself."

I waved at her, "It’s fine, just sit down and tell me what you want. That’s an order."

There was another pause before they spoke again.

"Tea for me, my Divine."

"Coffee... With milk, my Lord... Thank you."

"I’ll have some tea as well."

"Coffee for me please! With both milk and sugar!"

I gave them each a nod which almost immediately prompted them to go back to staring at each other silently.

But as I left the table to walk over to the counter where all the food and drinks were displayed in a buffet style for me to take, I heard whispering coming from the table I just left.

I realised the four of them finally decided to start talking after that and felt a little glad that they did not just go straight into trying to attack each other... For now.

I went over to the counter and the staff members quickly accommodated me, having already heard the women’s orders just now and moving to aid me in getting the drinks.

I got myself some tea as well while I piled a few other snacks on several plates, hoping that the presence of food might alleviate the four women’s contempt for each other.

Obviously, I kind of figured out the reason why they were hostile to each other was related to me.

I’m not exactly sure the exact reason yet since I’m sure Olivia and Ava have no problems with me sleeping with other girls and I don’t think Siti and Diana have a problem with that either.

The only thing I can think could be the reason was both of them seeing each other as belonging to a different faction and being upset that the other side managed to get close to me.

I’m not really sure if that was the case though so I decided not to think about it and focus on what I could do right now so as not to escalate the situation by assuming things incorrectly.

I gave the servers a quick thanks as I took the cups of drinks from them using my extra arms and brought them over to the table which immediately went silent the moment I got close.

I placed their drinks in front of them and also placed the plates in the centre of the table so that everyone could share the food.

The food I picked out were mostly snacks that were easy to eat since I figured they probably wouldn’t be looking for a full meal while they’re eating so most of them were things like fruit tarts, macaroons, a few biscuits and fruits.

But... Even with that, they made no move to touch the food and just went right back to staring at each other from across the table.

I sighed, "I’ll... Go get some food for myself too. Go ahead and start first."

I strolled over to the counter again and the staff members immediately moved forward to try and assist me but I shook my head gently at them and grabbed a plate for myself.

My real goal here wasn’t to actually get food but to see if they would continue talking once I was away so that I could try eavesdropping on them.

Sure enough, the moment I was ’distracted’ by the food, I heard the whispers start again.

I strained my ears and focused my senses to hear what they were saying while doing my best to pretend I was busy getting food for myself.

"How exactly did that happen?"

"Mmm... Not telling you. Fufufufu~ Even I need to have my own secrets, Olivia."

"So that means... Amongst the four of us... I’m the only one that hasn’t seen this... Soul space of my Lord’s?"

"I admit... Having the other two Mortal Gods of SAC be supportive of my Lord is something that would be the best case scenario for us..."

I felt the gaze of four women turning to look at me and did my best to look like I was still in the process of selecting what food to take.

I’m seriously at a loss on what to do right now because that wasn’t what I expected to hear when I eavesdropped on them. Now I don’t even know how to handle this.
