The lightning bolts continued to strike down around us throughout the lesson and we had to literally brave the storm throughout the entire lesson.

Thunder and lightning would roar around us and we had to be constantly on our toes to prepare ourselves to deal with the lightning bolts that struck around us.

Somehow, even with all that noise, the professor’s voice was never drowned out by the thunder and remained clear throughout the lesson.

Incidentally... If you were unprepared to deal with a lightning bolt however... You would get struck by one and get knocked out apparently. And it doesn’t seem like it would do much damage aside from that.

At least no one was dying I guess...

But if you get knocked out by the lightning, you’re also missing out on the lessons as well, so... That’s also not a good thing either...

Fortunately, I managed to learn how to predict when the lightning bolts would strike me which... Really wasn’t much because it was, at the end of the day, still just electricity.

By that, I mean I just notice that my hair was starting to stand and I knew that a lightning bolt was coming.

I then just had to make sure to prepare myself to control the lightning bolt that was coming towards me and then redirect it away from me.

Odeta also learned pretty quickly though she admitted that she was doing it through instincts instead but hey, if it works, it works.

Before the lesson even reached the halfway point, both of us were basically just doing it without really thinking about it anymore.

I even started playing around with the lightning when I realised I could basically kind of control it like my own lightning using my mana.

So I would just let the lightning bolt strike my mana coated hand and then start fiddling with the electricity sparking around my fingers like I was rolling a pen between them while listening to professor Yurah.

I heard more whispers coming from behind me after my classmates noticed me doing that.

"Is she... Playing with the lightning?"

"What kind of monster is she?"

"She’s not normal..."

"Shh... She’ll hear you... I heard from some people that she practices dark magic..."

What the heck is dark magic? Do you mean Umbramancy? Because that would be accurate. What’s wrong with Umbramancy?!

Besides that, I learned quite a bit about Electromancy itself with how the spells could be shaped.

Just like in Pyromancy, in order to ascend further into the next tier, we would need to learn how to craft our own original spells by understanding the magic itself.

I had also been worried that too many things might overlap with the Pyromancy classes since I’ve already learned that fact about creating your own spells... But it seems like each magic discipline has their own set of rules that you have to learn on its own as well.

It’s like learning that burns caused by flames are different from burns caused by electricity, which is where the professors come in by guiding us on these specific lessons.

There’s a lot to learn and honestly, I’ve had quite an interest in Electromancy for some time so I was quite enraptured by the lesson and interested in learning how Electromancy works.

I didn’t even realise how much time had passed until the bell rang, signifying the end of the lesson.

The storm clouds around us slowly dispersed and we found ourselves back in the lecture hall again, like everything that happened earlier was just an illusion.

The sight of the unconscious students who had been unfortunate enough to be struck by the lightning bolts and the sparks of electricity curling around my fingers suggested it had not been an illusion though.

I let the electricity in my hands disperse into the air to wither away into mana while professor Yurah stepped back to the centre of the room.

"For the ones that survived... Well done on your first lesson. This is simply just a taste of what might come in the future. Do not think that this is the extent of what you have to deal with though, as this is just the bare minimum and has been dialled down just because it’s your first lesson."

This was the dialled down version? I’m already wondering what the dialled up version would look like then...

Behind me, several of the students groaned as they realised this was what they had to get used to if they wanted to get better at this particular type of magic.

The professor continued, "Class is dismissed. Know that while I won’t drop the ones who are struck by lightning out, you are still expected to pass the tests in order to pass this class. So if you’re not able to learn because you are unconscious, that is entirely on you."

She then shifted her gaze down to me, "As for the ones with clear talent... Keep up the good work."

Professor Yurah then left the classroom without waiting for a response.

Ehe... Was she trying to say that I have talent? Ehehe~ You’re going to make me blush~

Ahem...

I managed to keep my face neutral as I stood up, still hugging my egg to my chest, before walking out of the classroom with Odeta in tow.

Both of us maintained an air of confidence as we strode through the space between the door and our seats, ignoring the stares coming from our fellow classmates.

We still couldn’t relax when we stepped out to the corridor as students from other classes were also leaving their class for their next ones.

"What’s your next class, Odeta?" I asked without turning back.

"Wahaha! I have free period next, Sister Aster! I only took up a few classes this year since I want to train myself to be stronger instead of spreading my focus out to new subjects! Maybe after this year when I have advanced my skills, I’ll think about taking up new skills afterwards!"

Well... She’s the best at pursuing something with a one track mind after all so that’s not surprising.

I took out my own book to check the schedule and realised that my next class was Iatromancy which was held in another building near the market district.

Thus, I separated from Odeta and used the teleportation array to teleport myself to the next class.

Ugghhh... I still can’t help but feel a little dissatisfied by the fact that I can’t fly... I wanna flyyyyyy... We’re literally up on a bunch of floating islands and I have to use these teleportation arrays like some pleb...

Tsk... I should go find out where I can go to spread my wings and fly without a permit later...

Looking up at the building that I teleported to, the place looked roughly the same in design as the previous building that housed the elemental magic classrooms I had come from earlier.

I also know that the infirmary was located here and I can guess why.

Looking around, I spotted more first years who flinched at the sight of me before they hurried away, acting like they did not see me.

Just as I was about to step towards the building to look for my classroom, I heard a voice call out from the side.

"Big Sister~"

I couldn’t help but smile a little as I turned to see Tiara running towards me, her eyes shining with anticipation.

"Hello Princess," I greeted her casually.

She stopped a step away from me and beamed cutely, "Big Sister! Are you also here for Iatromancy class?"

I nodded, maintaining my air of authority that I was projecting around me, "That’s right. I assume you are here for that as well, Princess?"

She tilted her head as though to ask why I was being so formal before her face lit up, probably remembering my plan on trying to be a villainess here.

She lowered her head slightly, "Ah, that’s right. Umm... If Big Sister does not mind... Might this lowly princess accompany you?"

What role are you even trying to play, Tiara?

Well... I’ll just play along I guess.

Instead of giving her a clear answer, I simply made a noise with my throat which would have undoubtedly been seen as rude to a royal before turning away.

Tiara obviously didn’t mind and just followed a step behind me, the sight of the princess willingly following me already drawing attention from the other students around us.

"Did you see that? Even the princess..."

"Wait, that’s a princess?"

"Yeah... Third princess of the Lehcarouc Kingdom... Don’t you know that?"

"I didn’t know... She was so cold to everyone else in her other classes... She didn’t even talk to anyone else."

"So why is she following behind her so obediently like that?"

"I’m telling you... She must have some kind of blackmail material on her... I wonder if she really intends to insult the royal family all the way?"

"Just stay away from her and those around her, guys..."

Heh heh~ Looks like it’s working perfectly~
