Chapter 1490: Asserting My Villainy
The walk to the cafeteria was quite a spectacle.
My girls all followed behind me as I led the way, passing by students who were also on their way to get their dinner plans sorted.
I realised that most students did not seem to know about me and were just ignoring me as I walked along the path, all of them occupied with their own things and not even looking my way.
But I could tell the people who were in the know quite easily from the others given how they either looked at me with eyes of fear or simply stepped off to the side when I got close to them like I was some dangerous entity.
There were also hushed whispers from the others around and some of the rumours they’re spreading sounds really weird...
"That’s the crazy egg woman..."
"She’s the one planning to take over the whole school?"
"That’s what I heard, yes..."
"That’s crazy... How can she do it?"
"If anyone can do it, it’s probably her... Have you seen her combat display?"
"Yeah... It was crazy...
I ignored the whispers and stepped into the cafeteria once again, this time showing up with all my girls in tow and also projecting an air of authority around me.
Several pairs of eyes turned to look in my direction, a few of them quickly averting their gaze when they saw me standing there.
Seeing that some of them were even senior students who averted their gaze... It seems like the rumours have really spread around even to the other years, huh?
I looked around for a suitable table that could sit all of us and the first thing I saw was the same empty table that I had occupied during lunch.
I went over to it, intending to take the table again as I placed my hand on the back of a chair intending to pull it out, only for someone else to place their hand on the same chair at the exact same time.
I looked up, finding a rather familiar girl with the twin drill hairstyle looking at me, her eyes widening in surprise before it turned into one of fear.
Ah crap... Well... I feel a little bad since I now know that these guys actually weren’t bullies and I was the one in the wrong to begin with but... Ughhh... Sorry again but...
I tilted my head at her, "Am I in your seat again?"
She faltered before straightening herself, "T... This... This is a table that is reserved for student affairs committee members’ use!"
Hmm... I suppose as a villainess, I would have to snatch this seat away from her but... I saw the pitiful looks on her followers’ faces and I hesitated for a moment.
Ok... I really feel bad for them right now... Maybe if I can give a little concession...
"Your seat, huh? You really want to fight for it?" I asked, my face neutral.
She said nothing and merely held my gaze while the others behind her looked at each other nervously.
I didn’t wait for a response and just turned away from her, "Let’s go, girls. We should find another space that isn’t already occupied."
Phew... I was afraid that she would back down but I had expected her to reclaim her pride by trying to fight back.
Like that, I can at least give the seat back to her as a small apology for what I did to them.
I might be trying to be a villainess here but I’ll be a villainess with class, ok?
As I walked away, a few students started to whisper amongst themselves.
"You see that?"
"Not even worth her time huh?"
"Damn... She’s really something..."
"It’s like they’re beneath her..."
Whaaaaat?! How did they even spin it that way?!
Screw it... I’m not even going to think about it...
I led the way to an empty part of the cafeteria and took out a table from my Bangle of Folding, prompting Katsuki to start setting the table up for all of us in a blur of speed.
A table cloth was laid with plates and utensils laid out even before I lowered my arm, right as Katsuki pulled out a chair for me to settle into.
I sat down and the girls all went ahead to get the food from the counters, leaving me to sit there alone with my egg on my lap.
Hmm~ Hmm~ Surely this would be fine, right? At least this will make me look more refined!
"Wow... She really just brought her own table..."
"She’s too good to even use the school’s table..."
"That earlier interaction with the student affairs committee... She’s really just establishing her dominance isn’t she?"
"Scary... Too scary..."
Are you guys seriously kidding me... You can even spin it in that direction?
Screw it, I’m not even going to comment at this point... I guess I should just be glad that it works in my favour considering what I was trying to do anyway...
I resigned myself to that and just pretended I didn’t hear anything, opting to concentrate on the egg in my lap instead and continue pouring my mana into it like nothing happened.
Right then, someone approached me from the side and I turned to look, finding a rather large sized senior student standing just a few feet away from me, the guy cracking his knuckles intimidatingly.
"You... You have a lot of nerve for a first year, don’t you?" He growled, moving even closer to me. "Do you need someone to teach you some respect?"
I pretended to be confused, "Whatever are you talking about? If you’re trying to hit on me, I have to tell you that I’m not into guys."
He scowled at me, "You really don’t even take anyone else seriously huh? You don’t know you should tread lightly, or else things might happen to you."
"Oh? What things might you be talking about?"
"Things like this!!"
He charged forward at me with his fist raised, clearly intending to punch me.
I would have moved to intercept him but I saw someone rushing in out of the corner of my eye and relaxed back in my seat, not even bothering to put away my egg.
His fist made a soft smack sound as it impacted the centre of someone’s palm.
The guy slowly turned to the side to see Odeta standing beside him, having caught his punch with her palm while giving the guy a death glare.
He opened his mouth to say something, only for Odeta to grab him by the head and lift him up like she was trying to lift up a ball and not a person.
Odeta brought the guy close to her, her face devoid of any emotion which actually made her look quite scary.
"You... Who do you think you are trying to do that in front of me? Do you think Sister Aster is someone you can bully?"
The guy let out a gasp as Odeta tightened her grip, though not enough to break anything yet.
She then turned to me, "What should we do with him, Sister Aster?"
I hummed before gesturing to the side, "Just throw him outside."
I was expecting Odeta to carry the guy over to the door before tossing him out of the cafeteria... So I was completely not prepared to see her grinning at me before pulling her arm back to toss the guy flying out in the direction of the door.
Everyone watched as the poor guy soared through the air like a cannonball and landed outside the cafeteria after flying at least a few dozen feet.
There was a loud bang from where he landed and Odeta dusted her hands before returning to get her own food like nothing happened.
More whispers spread around the cafeteria from the onlookers.
"You saw that? Tossed him like he was some kind of trash..."
"She really told her to toss him outside..."
"What’s their relationship with her?"
"Must be her underlings..."
"She probably has blackmail materials on them or something..."
"Yeah... Maybe she’s mind controlling them or something to make them obey her..."
Why the heck are you guys making up stories like this? That’s complete bullshit!
At least if you were going to speculate, have some evidence to back up your speculations!!
Make up some kind of scenario where I’m a refined villain at the very least! Not some crude one like what you said!
Ahem... Whoops... I think I got a little too worked up there...
On the bright side... I guess I should be thankful that this villainess act has been holding on relatively well so far.
Especially with that very obvious display of that guy being manhandled and thrown away... I think even more people around here would know that I am not a kind person... At least on the surface, I guess...
Ughh... Can I really keep this up?
Is this enough or do I still have to be even more villainous?
