Chapter 1499: A Vampire In The Academy?
Well... We still haven’t really figured out if I could cast spells that were beyond my capabilities using chantless magic.
Sure, I did not manage to do so this time but Chancellor Vastraea suggested that I might just need more time to learn so we decided to try again at our next session. Whenever that might be...
That night, I decided that we couldn’t... Have our night activities... Back in our usual dorm room since it was clear that our voices were being heard by my room mates but I had a plan.
Instead of doing it in Odeta’s room, I had my girls look around for a cluster of rooms that weren’t occupied and took over that room instead.
There, we could moan and scream as much as we wanted and there shouldn’t be anyone around that could hear us.
The third day of school was actually pretty normal compared to the first two days.
My first lesson was Alchemy and, honestly speaking, it wasn’t really any different from Lisa’s Alchemy classes.
Although I have a feeling that the reason for that was because it was still the first class so the Alchemy teacher, a female Trasif with tired looking eyes named Professor Yenn, only spent the class going over the safety measures of the classroom and what we can expect from being her students.
She seems like a pretty serious professor and it feels like she genuinely likes to teach this subject.
I actually half expected Lisa to be the teacher here but she’s also here as a student.
She’s in a different class than me since she had already reached tier three in Alchemy while I’m still at the second tier. Thus, she’s in the advanced class for Alchemy while I’m still in the Intermediate one.
Minnera was also taking Alchemy classes but she’s still at the first tier for that skill so she’s taking the basics class instead.
My second class was another martial skill class but this time in my bow skills.
I’ve never really gotten a chance to use bows ever since my time practicing them with Mother so I thought I might as well try it out while I’m in the Academy.
Similarly, I thought it might have something extreme like my swords class where we had to fight each other but... Well... There was still the points system where if you reach zero points you would also end up dropping out, but the points come from shooting at targets instead.
Our instructor was a male Nekomata who seemed like he was pretty chill with everything and I even thought he might be high on something while he was introducing himself.
But his skills were legitimate as he showed off his bow skills in shooting thirty bullseyes one after the other in less than thirty seconds before he made us spend the rest of the lesson shooting targets.
I heard that this was only just the introduction to the class so we might actually end up with shooting duels later on in the year but at least the first day was still normal lessons for now.
On that note, the whispers and stares hadn’t stopped and I noted there were more people than before who were looking at me that way.
No doubt the rumours were being spread around even more and I reckon that at least an eighth of the entire first year cohort has already heard the rumours at this point.
I was still keeping up my ’arrogant but classy noble’ facade of course, which I found surprisingly easy to do. I believe this is thanks to my proficiency in Noble etiquette and Authority Projection which allowed me to maintain this persona.
Lunch with the girls proceeded without any interruptions but I knew this was just everyone else watching us from a distance, as if they were watching a bomb from a distance afraid that they would be caught in the blast if it went off.
When I asked the girls about their classes, they seemed to be experiencing the same thing as well.
Their classmates would give them a wide berth and apparently... Someone tried to approach Lisa for a quick fuck, which actually wouldn’t be that big of a deal considering this World’s norms and Lisa could just reject him, but his friend pulled him back with such desperation you would have thought the guy would have lost his life if he tried to ask that question.
That was pretty much enough for me to call it an absolute win at that point since I wouldn’t need to worry about idiots approaching my girls now.
That was also when I realised I hadn’t actually been hit on ever since I started this role which I also saw as a win.
My third lesson of the day was actually a class I was quite looking forward to the entire week.
Umbramancy!! Wheeee~
I entered the classroom with my egg in my hands and Katsuki following me once again. Seems like she had also been placed in the same Umbramancy class as me~
As I settled into the front of the class, I heard whispers from my classmates again, though this time was about something else instead of just the rumours about my villany.
"Are you serious? She’s in this class as well?"
"This is Intermediate Umbramancy class... I think all the classes she had gone to were also intermediate classes..."
"All of them? Not basic or introduction class?"
"Nope... I heard from my dorm mate she’s in Intermediate Pyromancy class too..."
"And Swordsmanship class."
"I just had Intermediate Alchemy class with her this morning... Just how many different skills does she have?"
"She’s a real monster..."
Hey! I’ll have you know I worked really, really hard, ok?! I got here through sheer effort and dedication! I didn’t even use the character creator to grant myself all those skills!
While I was thinking that, a woman wearing azure robes stepped into the classroom.
She looked like a Mahun but somehow... I was getting a different feeling coming from her so it didn’t feel like she was an actual Mahun for some reason.
Also... She was wearing what I could only describe as a gothic dress that barely did anything to hide her curvaceous form.
She stepped up to the podium and flashed us a really dazzling smile that totally did not fit her current outfit.
"Good afternoon class! Did everyone have a nice lunch earlier? Anyone didn’t manage to eat? I have brought some cookies if you want them!"
She pulled out what looked like a paper bag and the smell of chocolate cookies filled the lecture hall.
I immediately raised my hand, already salivating slightly.
She turned to me with a smile, "Oh my! How enthusiastic! What’s your name?"
"Aster," I replied automatically, my mind completely focused on the paper bag that she was holding.
"Aster~ What a nice name! Here you go! Cookie for you!"
She dug into the bag and fished out a cookie, the action prompting my gaze to shift to her face for a moment when I realised that her canines were longer than normal when she smiled at me.
Still, I received the cookie from her but I did not put it in my mouth yet, opting to watch her as she turned to the rest of the class.
"Anyone else? Cookie? No?"
She almost looked disappointed that no one else wanted the cookie but she did not push and simply returned to the podium.
As for me... I went ahead to inhale the cookie, shuddering when I felt the chocolate melt in my mouth.
It’s so goooood~
"Now! Welcome to Intermediate Umbramancy class! My name is Evangeline Recknowell! You can call me Professor Evangeline! I’ll be your teacher for this year in Umbramancy! Oh! And before you ask..."
She then smiled to show off her elongated canines, which seemed to make some of my classmates gasp when they saw that.
Is she... What I think she is?
She clasped her hands together, "That’s right! Your professor’s a vampire! Isn’t that nice?"
I peeked at my classmates, wondering how they would react to that information.
But... Aside from the initial surprise at that, they don’t really seem bothered. It’s like someone finding out I’m a futanari instead of being a girl. There’s surprise at that but not exactly shock or disgust.
I guess... Vampires are uncommon but not really that rare? Now I’m wondering if I’ve actually met a few vampires but just didn’t know they were vampires in my life?
Well... I guess we have a goth vampire professor teaching us Umbramancy... That’s actually surprisingly on-brand.
Aside from the fact that she seemed to be really affectionate and... Dare I say... Motherly?
She turned to smile at us again, making me wonder if there was a catch to her being like this since I also remember a certain Meslatar swords instructor who was really happy watching us slash the hell out of each other in the arena...
"Now... Shall we start the first--" She stopped herself as her gaze swept to the back of the class.
All of a sudden, an incredible pressure pushed down around us and even I could tell that she was absolutely furious to the point that I might as well be looking at a Dungeon Boss monster.
Eh? Ehhhh? Why do I suddenly hear boss music?!
