Chapter 1246: Three Years Later
Three Years Later
"Zhou Chengchen!!!"
A furious shout accompanied by the sound of a door being kicked in came from outside, interrupting the previously melodious sound of the piano.
The girl sitting at the piano, with her hair in a ponytail and fingers still on the keys, turned her head to look at the person who stormed in angrily.
Weiwei frowned slightly, "Zhou Qi, what bug bit you this time?"
Zhou Qi slapped a comic book onto the table in front of her, "Look at all this stuff!"
Zhou Chengchen glanced at it and smiled, "Hey, how did this end up with you?"
Zhou Qi glared at her, "And you still have the nerve to ask?"
It was a BL comic, with very bold art that was quite inappropriate for children. Zhou Qi had just returned to his room and found this comic blatantly placed on his bed.
"Oh dear, bro, I’m just worried about your love life. I’m telling you, you can’t date someone just based on gender differences. Look at the girlfriends you’ve had, each more unreliable than the last. How do you think your friend An Rui feels about that?"
"Get out, get out, get out!"
Zhou Chengchen stood up with a chuckle and placed her hands on Zhou Qi’s shoulders, "I heard An Rui’s team made it to the finals this year, and he’s a key player. Aren’t you going back to see them?"
"No!"
"So heartless? That’s not right. After all, you used to be quite close, didn’t you?"
Zhou Qi shot another murderous look her way, "Do you even dare mention it?"
This happened during their trip to Europe after their college entrance exams. One night at a hotel, after drinking too much, Zhou Chengchen, who was the only one still sober, actually put both of these grown men in one bed.
When they woke up the next morning, Zhou Qi and An Rui were so angry they almost cursed her out.
"Bro, you really should go back."
Zhou Chengchen suddenly adopted a more serious expression, her bright little face now showing a seriousness she didn’t have before.
Her eyebrows curved, with the kind of gentle beauty a girl should have, her eyes clear and more lively.
Zhou Qi said nothing as Zhou Chengchen withdrew her hands from his shoulders and instead hugged Zhou Qi’s waist.
Zhou Qi had grown quite a bit taller than before, Zhou Chengchen pressed her cheek against his chest, "I saw the tickets An Rui sent you. I know you really want to go back. I’m really, really fine now, so you should go."
Zhou Qi’s body tensed, and after a while, he squeezed out a sentence, "It’s nothing."
"Bro, we’re twins, you can’t fool me."
"..."
Zhou Qi didn’t say anything, but Zhou Chengchen continued, "I know what you’re afraid of. You should have been on that stage too, which is why you don’t want to return as a spectator, right?"
"..."
"But bro, it’s not too late, is it? I know for these three years you haven’t stopped practicing. Maybe you’re not as professionally trained as those players, but you have talent, don’t you?"
In terms of gaming, Zhou Chengchen didn’t really understand it, she just believed in Zhou Qi, believing he could make it back to that stage.
Zhou Qi still didn’t make a sound, so Zhou Chengchen slowly released him and looked up, their eyes meeting.
After a long time, Zhou Qi finally gave a wry smile, "What about you?"
"Me?"
Zhou Chengchen smiled, turned around, and pulled a ticket out from the sheet music on the piano, a hint of smugness returning to her expression, "Of course, I’m going back home with you. Otherwise, when you start crying, there won’t even be anyone to hand you tissues."
