Chapter 1205: Bought Casually
Anything related to him, no matter how small, is a big deal.
But with his words "in the future", no matter how big, it’s a small matter.
Zhou Chengchen suddenly felt a bit embarrassed again, turned her gaze away, and moved forward. The air was still the same as before, the scenery unchanged. But she felt like something was different.
After a moment of silence, Zhou Chengchen spoke, "Why did you decide to buy tickets for a romantic film? There are so many big movies today."
Zhou Chengchen casually mentioned it, but Xi Siyan felt a bit amused. How could he not see that Zhou Chengchen had no interest in today’s movie at all?
Yet, when he went to buy the tickets, he hesitated for a long time but still chose this romantic film. It wasn’t that he wanted to imply anything; he just had no experience in asking a girl out to the movies.
After checking online, he found two widely recommended options: one was a horror movie, with the reason being that when the girl gets scared, she’d lean into your arms, allowing you to show your sense of security, making everything fall into place naturally.
Thinking about this reason, and then about Zhou Chengchen, a horror movie? For her, it probably wouldn’t be the movie scaring her, but her scaring the movie.
Decisively passed on that.
The second suggestion was a romantic film, even though it might be a bit boring, it’s warm and romantic, very suitable for couples.
So that’s why Xi Siyan bought the film without hesitation.
He certainly wouldn’t explain all this to Zhou Chengchen. No matter how complicated the reasoning was, to Xi Siyan, he summed it up simply with, "Bought it at random."
"Oh."
Zhou Chengchen initially wanted to retort with "then you have no taste," but swallowed the words back.
It’s rare for someone to ask her out to a movie, and criticizing like that didn’t seem right.
Because it was cold, Zhou Chengchen decided on having hot pot for dinner.
Winter nights always come earlier. When they came out of the hot pot restaurant, it was already completely dark. Xi Siyan sent Zhou Chengchen off to catch a cab, noted the license plate and the driver’s card as usual, and watched her leave before turning away.
The winter break had started, which meant the Spring Festival wasn’t far away.
Thinking about last year’s Spring Festival, a smile appeared on Xi Siyan’s lips. This year, probably not again.
He didn’t want her to be unable to reunite with her family because of him again.
Due to Spring Festival being earlier this year, Zhang Yi had already called some time ago, once again apologizing politely that he would have to spend it alone.
Back at his place, Xi Siyan took a shower and sat at the desk. He glanced at the time, then took out competition questions from the drawer and resumed working on them. After a while, estimating the time, he picked up his phone to check and wasn’t surprised to see a message popping up just as he unlocked it, a safe arrival text from Zhou Chengchen.
Xi Siyan replied to the message, then lowered his head to continue working on the questions.
This time, he did well in the competition, or at least he felt so, but there was no absolute certainty in such matters.
So, before the final results were out, Xi Siyan’s nerves wouldn’t relax; he couldn’t be slack, otherwise, what would he have to talk to her about in the future?
Suddenly, he recalled Zhou Chengchen sleeping on his shoulder today, then her face falling into the popcorn bucket, and couldn’t help but smile.
Realizing he was distracted, Xi Siyan took a deep breath, pinched the bridge of his nose, and refocused his attention back on the paper, diligently continuing studying.
