Chapter 1160 — Ace of LP Disparity
"ATK 8400?!"
Elsworth was visibly shaken.
Driven Daredevil couldn’t be destroyed by monsters with higher ATK, but it’d still take battle damage. Facing 8000+ ATK, he’d be KO’d in one hit.
"I did say, if you weren’t careful, you’d get OTK’d."
Kira grinned, gesturing lightly.
"Mars, attack ’Driven Daredevil!’"
The red Avenger-angel shot forward, battle-axe poised to cleave heaven and earth.
Elsworth:
"Daredevil’s effect—can’t be destroyed by monsters with higher ATK attacking it!"
Kira:
"But battle damage still applies. Take 6000 in battle damage."
Mars’s axe’s shockwave blasted through Daredevil, battering Elsworth himself.
Elsworth:
"I activate my set Continuous Trap, ’Spirit Barrier!’
As long as I control a monster, all battle damage I take becomes 0!"
Daredevil’s defenses grew even more resolute. The axe was stopped, sword and axe clashed, winds bursting forth.
Kira squinted:
"Oh? A perfect complement to Daredevil’s effect."
"But that’s not all."
Elsworth:
"Furthermore, after Daredevil battles a monster with higher ATK, destroy that monster!"
"Daredevil, destroy Mars!"
The resilient Daredevil crossed blades, light slashing across Mars. Mars’s form fractured and blew apart.
Kira:
"Oh dear, 8400-Attack Mars destroyed..."
Elsworth:
"Now I activate my other set card! Continuous Trap, ’Master and Servant’s Resolve!’
Whenever a monster is destroyed by another monster’s effect in battle, its controller takes damage equal to its ATK."
"You’ll take the destroyed monster’s ATK—8400—in effect damage!"
The torrent of power surged, threatening to overwhelm Kira.
"Just this move alone can erase the difference in LP in an instant—not bad."
Kira smiled.
"But unfortunately for you, closing the LP gap isn’t that simple for me."
He showed a card and quickly sent it to the graveyard.
"From my hand, I discard ’Junkuriboh.’ Effect activates!
If you’d take damage from a card effect—spell, trap, or monster—discard this card, negate and destroy the source."
Kira pointed.
"’Master and Servant’s Resolve’—negated and destroyed!"
A new variant, Kuriboh shot out, let out its reassuring "kuri, kuri," and smashed into the trap, shattering it.
Elsworth’s face fell:
"’Master and Servant’s Resolve’ destroyed?!"
"Yes, seems your resolve is only so much," Kira taunted.
"With that level of resolve, how will you protect your mistress?"
Elsworth gritted his teeth.
"Turn end."
"My turn, draw!"
Elsworth played, bristling with anger.
"I’ve served my lady since she was a child! Even if it costs my life, I will guard the last bloodline of House Leblanc!
I don’t care who you are, but I will not tolerate your contempt for the samurai’s resolve!"
Elsworth pointed.
"’Driven Daredevil,’ direct attack!"
Mars was gone, Kira’s field clear. Daredevil crossed no defense and slashed at Kira.
Kira closed his eyes, letting the sword wind slice by.
[Kira, LP12400 → LP10000]
"Set two cards, turn end,"
Elsworth said coldly.
"Well? Have you felt a bit of the samurai’s power?"
Kira dusted his clothes off:
"That’s it?"
"Nani?!"
Elsworth was livid.
How could this bastard look down on him so much...?
"My turn. Draw."
Kira declared.
"I activate the Spell Card ’Card of Adversity.’
If my opponent controls a Special Summoned monster and I have none, I draw two cards."
"Then, Quick-Play Spell ’Celestial Transformation.’ I can Special Summon a Fairy monster from my hand in Attack Position with its ATK halved, but it’s destroyed at End Phase."
"From my hand, Special Summon—
The Agent of Judgment — Saturn!"
[Saturn, ATK 2400 → 1200]
This Saturn isn’t part of the classic Planets archetype, but the Agent line proper. Though unrelated, there’s something fitting about them both being called Saturn.
And that’s why both have won Kira’s favor.
Between the two Agents, Kira personally prefers this Saturn, as it fits his style better.
"Now I activate Quick-Play Spell ’Inferno Reckless Summon.’ When a monster with 1500 or less ATK is Special Summoned, Special Summon as many of the same name from your deck as you can."
Elsworth tensed:
"Saturn has 2400 ATK, but because of ’Celestial Transformation,’ it’s halved..."
"Exactly."
Kira snapped his fingers.
"Special Summon two more ’Agent of Judgment — Saturn’ from the deck!"
[Saturn, ATK 2400] x2
"Of course, your side can also special summon monsters with the same name from your deck," Kira added, "but you only have the Synchro monster ’Driven Daredevil.’"
Elsworth grunted, watching silently.
"Three Saturns... I see, their ATKs match Daredevil’s," Elsworth mused.
"Daredevil’s effect only works when attacked by monsters with higher ATK. They’ll trade one for one, then the others can attack directly—calculating for that, right?"
"You read me. But that only adds up to 3600 damage, if they go through—not lethal."
Kira grinned.
"A half-baked duel can’t prove anything to you, can it?"
Elsworth shivered inside.
This guy... does he want to finish me off this turn?
He quickly understood Kira’s plan.
"I activate Saturn’s effect: While Sanctuary in the Sky is on the field, and my LP is higher than yours,
I can tribute Saturn to inflict damage equal to the LP difference!"
The LP gap...
Elsworth: "!!"
Even after last turn, the opponent’s still 6000 LP higher.
That means...
6,000 effect damage in one shot!?
Kira gestured gracefully:
"Tribute Saturn to inflict 6000 damage!"
Mars was never the true ace of ’Life Point Gap Angels’; the real trump card is the unstoppable Saturn!
Elsworth roared:
"I activate my set Counter Trap, ’Trap of Board Eraser!’
When your opponent activates a non-battle damage effect—negate it, then they discard a card!"
Saturn attempted a kamikaze charge, only to be stopped by an invisible shield, dispersing into glowing particles.
"You stopped one," Kira smiled.
"Then, Saturn No. 2, tribute itself—6000 damage!"
No worries—if the first fails, there’s always the second.
Three Saturns, three life-difference nukes!
"I activate my set card!" Elsworth flipped his final trap: "Trap Card ’Damage Translation!’
All effect damage this turn is halved!"
The second Saturn’s strike sent Elsworth reeling, but he managed to stay upright.
[Elsworth, LP4000 → LP1000]
"Impressive. Now I’m starting to admire your resolve."
Kira gave a slow clap, then added with a smile:
"But, unfortunately, you’re still a little short."
He twirled his fingers.
"For the last shot: Saturn No. 3, tribute, inflict damage equal to the LP gap."
A final bombardment—the explosion nearly launched Elsworth, firestorm lighting the night.
"Sorry, milady—aaaaah—!"
Elsworth’s cry was swallowed by flames.
[Elsworth, LP1000 → LP0]
