"People actually died?" Chen Chong asked, surprised. "It got that serious?"

"You bet. I heard all sides took casualties. The Survival Association had the numbers, the Fighting Club had the brawlers, and the other small clubs ganged up together. All three factions took heavy losses in the end."

"But in the end, it looks like the Survival Association came out on top. The Fighting Club and the others all fled. I doubt they’ll be causing any trouble for the next few days."

A wide grin spread across Xu Jun’s face as he mentioned the Fighting Club’s retreat.

Clearly, his last run-in with Fan Kai had left a bad taste in his mouth, and he was secretly gloating over Fan Kai’s defeat.

These Extraordinary Creatures were terrifying, but the students couldn’t just stay cooped up at the school forever. They had to go out and find food.

The horned Giant Catfish was the easy one. That Extraordinary Creature was confined to the water. As long as people stayed out of the river, they’d be fine fishing or foraging along the banks.

Even if they did go in, staying out of the deep water would prevent any major issues.

The Giant Eagle was also relatively easy to avoid. After all, it’s an Extraordinary Giant Beast that flies, so you can spot it from a great distance. You just have to keep an eye on the sky.

Under the cover of the trees in the Primitive Jungle, they’d be mostly safe. And if they were unlucky enough to be spotted, they could just hide quickly.

After all, the trees in the Primitive Jungle were ridiculously old. You could see massive trees several meters, or even over ten meters, wide everywhere you looked. They provided more than enough shelter for puny humans.

As for what to do if you run into it in a wide-open area?

The only option is to find cover as fast as possible and hope you can hide.

If there’s absolutely no cover... then all you can do is pray.

The only one that was really tricky was the Blood Python. As a reptile, it was far more dangerous hiding in the jungle than the other two Extraordinary Creatures.

According to the students who survived the bloody incident, no one knew when it appeared or where it came from.

It was also incredibly fast, capable of lunging over ten meters in the blink of an eye!

It could also coil around trees, moving through the canopy from one trunk to another.

Despite its ridiculous size, it moved with all the characteristic stealth and agility of a snake.

However, it wasn’t impossible to avoid.

Everyone who made it back said that when the Blood Python appeared, a foul odor filled the air.

They couldn’t describe the exact smell.

But like a King Python—or a rat snake, as they’re commonly called—you could smell it from a long way off.

That was pretty much the only telltale sign that it was coming.

If you smell something strange while foraging in the jungle, don’t even think. Just turn and run as fast as you possibly can...

Xu Jun continued, "Some students already went out this afternoon. They followed these theories, and apparently, they didn’t run into any trouble. But I think they just got lucky. If they had actually run into one of those things, these ’theories’ would, at best, only slightly increase their chances of survival."

"College kids really are smart," Chen Chong mused. "Coming up with solutions in less than a day... Increasing the odds of survival even a little is impressive. Normal people can’t possibly fight beasts like that."

Chen Chong thought it all made sense, but he wasn’t worried about encountering these three Extraordinary Creatures himself.

’I have the ’Beast Intuition’ skill. I’ll definitely sense them long before an encounter.’

He was less concerned about those three Extraordinary Creatures and more about the fourth one mentioned in the intel.

It hadn’t shown up yet. ’What in the world could this fourth Extraordinary Creature be?’

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

The door opened to reveal Shen Xinrou’s petite figure. She was cradling something in her arms, hidden under a jacket.

Chen Chong glanced down the hallway, then back at Shen Xinrou. "Come in."

Without a hint of caution, Shen Xinrou walked straight in.

Night had fallen, but thanks to the candles and oil lamps inside, you could just barely see.

The first thing she saw upon entering was the living room, which was several times larger than normal, thanks to a Vacant Land Card.

Near the kitchen, three five-square-meter farm plots were arranged in a neat row.

On the other side was a five-square-meter fenced enclosure.

A large boulder with spring water bubbling from it stood outside the bathroom.

She could faintly see the flicker of a fire and white smoke coming from the kitchen, and it looked like something was hanging above the balcony...

Everyone got Cards daily, and basic structures like farm plots were quite common, so there was nothing to be secretive about.

While they couldn’t fill a stomach like other vegetables, they were excellent for seasoning. They would not only add flavor to their meals but also provide essential vitamins.

In a world where everything was scarce, they were definitely precious crops worth cultivating.

Chen Chong was thrilled to have acquired three types of crops—sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers—all at once.
