Chapter 98: If You’re Not Strong, You’ll Only Be Bullied to Tears by Us
Not yet shipped.
Obviously, it was a customer.
Anyone who had seen the love letter could have guessed.
Ling Yanzhi chuckled softly and pulled Jian Yu’s hands apart, grabbing one in each of his.
He lowered his head, his speaking rhythm suffocating. "Who was it? Tell me, baby, and I’ll stop Xi Yu and the others from bullying you, okay?"
Xi Yu, only half-understanding, stared with a look of obsession.
The tentacles, following their master’s lead, grew even more brazen.
They moved like they were sizing up prey, slimily tracing every contour of her body.
Even the Soul Beast’s master’s gaze took on a crazed infatuation.
’Love letter? What love letter? Baby is so cute.’ Xi Yu was lost in his adoration, completely captivated.
Pei Yin snapped back to his senses. He retreated to his seat, suppressing his rapacious ambition.
Most Healing was accompanied by pain, unless anesthesia was used.
But anesthesia would greatly reduce the effectiveness.
He glanced at the time. Staring at the damp corners of Jian Yu’s eyes, Pei Yin adjusted the level-two pain setting to its lowest.
A subtle numbness set in, and the stinging pain was no longer as sharp.
Jian Yu regained some of her strength.
"I don’t know."
She closed her eyes, her cheeks flushed and her body trembling uncontrollably.
"It’s someone you know, baby." A faint smile played on Ling Yanzhi’s lips, and the end of his words carried a casual chill.
He didn’t know what came over him; he just felt a sudden, inexplicable impulse.
It wasn’t about finding the person who sent the love letter. It was about a bizarre, satisfying urge to bully her until she cried.
Jian Yu kicked her legs feebly, her voice full of grievance. "I don’t know that person."
The misty tendrils around her followed her will, creeping up the men’s backs and continuing to disrupt their minds.
"I really don’t know him." Her voice was syrupy and soft, stirring their hearts.
Ling Yanzhi’s fingertips casually caressed the skin of her wrist. "It’s alright. Maybe you just forgot, baby. We’ll help you remember."
The Red Snake slithered in, twisting its tail as it carefully coiled around Jian Yu’s porcelain-white neck.
Jian Yu’s breathing grew shallow. Tears welled in her eyes, creating shimmering ripples.
After prolonged contact, her seven-tenths fear had turned to five-tenths terror, and now, to three-tenths thrill.
Watching them fall under her control, seeing their fair faces slowly turn crimson.
She became more and more immersed, to the point where she’d forgotten what fear even was.
The truth was, Jian Yu didn’t like being the weaker party.
But she enjoyed the process of playing weak—watching those in power bow their heads, kneel at her hem, fall into a daze of deep obsession, and willingly drown themselves in her.
Like right now.
Xi Yu lifted his head, his gaze clinging to her. "You’re so... tempting when you’re scared, baby. A baby with red, teary eyes is just so cute."
Jian Yu bit her lip, her expression one of forbearance as she tried not to make a sound.
She lifted her lashes slightly, her pitiful appearance luring Ling Yanzhi to lean down and kiss her wantonly.
Her mouth was forced open, and a stream of breathless, inarticulate sounds spilled from her throat.
’Delicious.’
’Yes, you’re all... very tempting, too.’
Her strength completely spent, Jian Yu’s eyelids drooped.
She controlled the pink mist, weaving it into threads and withdrawing it back into her body.
’A little tired.’
The unshed tears brewed for a moment. With a blink, she broke the last drop into several tiny, glittering beads.
A few tiny teardrops now clung to the lashes on her delicate, porcelain-white face.
Jian Yu’s arms fell limp. Her entire body felt weak, and her voice was slightly hoarse. "It was probably a client the director introduced to me before."
Her small face was scrunched up, her pitiful expression one of pure injustice.
There was no distance, no coldness.
That cool, world-weary aura about her seemed, just for this moment, to have been completely replaced by other, more vivid expressions.
The way she looked now was utterly endearing.
Xi Yu, sated, recalled his Soul Beast.
He shuffled forward and squeezed Jian Yu’s palm, letting her calves hang naturally over his legs, about half an inch from the floor.
Xi Yu lowered his head and kissed the back of her hand.
"Baby’s tired again. You got tired so quickly this time." His eyes, free of paranoia, were sparkling, and his tone was very serious.
"Baby was so excited just now. Every time you get excited, you get all soft. I like my baby soft and excited."
"..." From the corner of her eye, Jian Yu snuck a glance at him.
’I have a feeling that out of all of them, Xi Yu might be the first to see through me.’
Ling Yanzhi caught her surreptitious glance.
A cold expression, cheeks flushed crimson, eyes moist—obedient and adorable.
Ling Yanzhi couldn’t resist hugging her waist intimately and pressing his cheek against hers.
His persona shifted, and he seemed to revert to his gentle facade.
"My poor baby, you’ve been wronged. It was my fault for not asking clearly. I misjudged you."
Jian Yu pressed her moist, red lips together and lifted her eyes. Her gaze shimmered, revealing a hint of frailty.
She rolled over, buried her face in his chest, and pretended to sob, though in reality, she couldn’t squeeze out a single tear.
Ling Yanzhi patted her back soothingly and apologized in a placating tone, "I went too far. Don’t be angry, baby. Forgive me this once. As punishment, how about I send you some money?"
’Way more useful than Xi Yu and Pei Yin’s offer to wash me as their punishment.’
’Can’t say no to money.’
Jian Yu snuggled against his chest, her voice slightly nasal. "Send it first. I want to see your sincerity."
"Alright, alright, alright." Ling Yanzhi’s voice rose, his deep laughter laced with a lazy, magnetic quality.
He transferred a hundred million.
Xi Yu wanted to compete, but after checking his balance, he could only transfer thirty million.
He had transferred three hundred million to his baby last time and didn’t have as many readily available Star Coins on hand.
’I need to make more money.’
Xi Yu took a deep breath, his mood turning dark and... damp.
"Get your slime under control. It’s about to get on my shoes." Pei Yin moved his chair away and also transferred fifty million.
He closed the monitoring screen on his Star Brain.
He had been staring at it for a long time, and the more he looked, the more something felt wrong.
He needed to discuss this with Ling Yanzhi and the others.
Pei Yin shot them a look. "A new batch of criminals just came in. Should we let baby try her hand at them?"
Xi Yu’s eyes were glued to Jian Yu.
Hearing this, he was suddenly and surprisingly lucid, rejecting the idea with a dead-serious expression. "No. What if she gets hurt?"
Pei Yin was very confident in the facilities of his laboratory.
"They’re all locked up. We’ll leave a small window open. Baby can just hide outside and launch a sneak attack. Nothing will happen."
But upon further thought, he hesitated.
He could accept Jian Yu not liking him, but he couldn’t bear the thought of her losing her life because of his own blind confidence.
Pei Yin turned his head and looked at Xi Yu. "You go with her."
He was about to add a few words of persuasion, like how Xi Yu was the strongest and thus the most suitable to accompany her.
Xi Yu didn’t need any persuasion.
He was dying for a chance to be alone with her. "Okay. I’ll protect my baby."
Pei Yin knelt down on one knee, holding Jian Yu’s hand. "Baby, look at me."
Jian Yu’s eyes shifted.
She adjusted her expression and turned back, her eyes slightly red-rimmed—delicate but pure.
"The people inside are all on death row. If you can’t bring yourself to do it, just think about how many people they’ve killed."
Pei Yin looked into her eyes, the pad of his thumb stroking the reddened corner of her eye.
"Don’t hold back. Show me what you’re capable of, baby, so I can help you become even stronger."
Ling Yanzhi’s eyes were downcast, his eyelids drooping lazily.
"If you don’t try hard, baby, you’ll just end up being bullied by us every day. And you know... Xi Yu loves to see you cry."
