Why Are the Psychos Obsessed with a Mere NPC?

Chapter 97: Forcing a Confession

Yin Jiu drooped listlessly, tugging at Sheng Yue’s clothes.

Every time he moved, it would swing back and forth with the hem of his clothes like a pendulum.

[’Master, I look down on you.’]

Sheng Yue didn’t break his stride.

A ripple of emotion flickered in his blue eyes, and a soft sigh escaped his lips.

[’You spent all night psyching yourself up just to curl up on my lap and not move an inch?’]

’Had I known, I wouldn’t have even bothered going over.’

’Useless.’

Yin Jiu scrambled up his clothes with its two paws. [’I hadn’t figured out what to say before you guys left.’]

It leaped over and hugged Sheng Yue’s arm, its snow-white ears turning red.

[’Master, let’s go back and see the baby! I’ll definitely take the initiative this time!’]

Sheng Yue didn’t respond.

He walked straight into the chapel, his deep blue eyes gazing calmly at the divine statue above.

Yin Jiu jumped down and sniffed the air. "Master, I think someone was here."

It seems to be a very high-Level person, and they deliberately concealed their aura.

But they were unlucky enough to run into me now that my sense of smell is back. If someone’s been here, I can sniff them out instantly.

Sheng Yue paused for a moment. Although he came here often, that didn’t mean others couldn’t.

He lowered his gaze, unconcerned. "The chapel isn’t a restricted area."

Yin Jiu scampered around gleefully for a bit before finding a long, golden feather in a corner.

"Master!"

It returned with the feather in its mouth, and with a shake, its body grew several times larger.

It tilted its head and offered the feather to Sheng Yue.

"It’s Ah Qi’s feather."

Sheng Yue finished his recitation and opened his eyes.

His gaze froze as he looked at the Golden Feather in his hand.

’Si Xu is back?’

...

"That’s one ruthless woman," Pei Yin said, frowning as he watched a robot clean up the pool of blood on the floor.

’Aren’t I a doctor?’

’This place is basically a clinic. Why send her to the school infirmary?’

’It’s not like I would have actually let Yan Qin bleed to death.’

Pei Yin was speechless. "Are you two really not going to protect her at all? What did Yan Qin mean by that? Is someone really trying to mess with her?"

An explosion is no small matter. An Awakener might be fine, but a normal person could be blown to bits.

Ling Yanzhi looked perfectly relaxed. "She offended someone on her own. There’s nothing I can do to help."

"Yan Qin tried to force her way into a circle she couldn’t break into, then made a bunch of promises she couldn’t keep."

"She used the privileges we gave her to curry favors. It was only a matter of time before it backfired."

"I just didn’t expect that before that could happen, she’d already be ostracized for her poor character."

"She took on responsibilities she couldn’t handle and was completely selfish."

"First, she got someone else a Yellow Card, then she took all the credit for the group assessment."

Ling Yanzhi stared at Jian Yu’s glistening, lovely eyes, and the corner of his mouth curved up unconsciously.

"Except for Duan Feiye’s villa, she’s paraded people through every other area of the academy."

"The things in the 3S Area are useful for the incubation medicine specialization, but to everyone else, they’re just scrap paper."

"Some people got played for fools. Of course they’re going to come after her."

Ling Yanzhi would naturally pay close attention to someone with the potential to be Awakened.

He’d originally had Lin Yu arrange for people to watch her in secret to make sure nothing happened to Yan Qin.

But after watching her for so long, he suddenly didn’t want to bother anymore.

And since Duan Feiye had conveniently stepped in, he simply told Lin Yu and the others to pull their people out.

Xi Yu suddenly spoke up. "Let’s not talk about her. If she really succeeds in Awakening, I don’t think I’ll be very happy about it."

"A woman like that, who’s ruthless to herself, will only be more ruthless to others."

Xi Yu held Jian Yu’s hand and kissed it, a trace of excitement coloring his eyes.

His fingers pressed against Jian Yu’s calf. "When we have time, we should treat baby’s leg first. Baby has pretty legs; nothing can happen to them."

A tendril shot out, slithering along her ankle and into her sock.

Jian Yu bit her ruby-red lips, and her large, almond-shaped eyes, as big as grapes, misted over.

She flinched, pulling her foot back and leaning into Ling Yanzhi’s embrace.

Seeing a blush spread across her pale little face, Ling Yanzhi tightened the arm he had around her waist.

He didn’t stop Xi Yu, his eyes fixed on Jian Yu’s flustered and uneasy expression.

He let out a soft chuckle. "Whoever brought her back can deal with her. It’s not like Duan Feiye is helpless. Instead of always staring at other people, we might as well give him something to do."

The tendril wrapped around her, a sticky fluid sliding over her skin. The purple bruises from last night’s kisses gradually faded, and her skin returned to its fair, delicate state.

Jian Yu was used to this, but it was still uncomfortable. It crawled over her skin with a rustling sound, impossible to grab and impossible to shoo away.

Ever since Xi Yu discovered his ability could remove superficial marks, he would kiss her, erase the marks, and then kiss her all over again.

He seemed to thoroughly enjoy the process of staining her skin with his marks.

Pei Yin raised an eyebrow. "If you two don’t want to deal with it, then I’ll have to get a few people to keep an eye on things."

The Star Brain projected a floating screen, and he searched for a private group chat the academy had set up for him.

With ninety to a hundred new students assigned each year, that added up to nearly four hundred people over four years. Pulling a few out would be easy.

Xi Yu asked, his voice ghostly, "Keep an eye on who? Why keep an eye on Yan Qin? Are you going to betray our baby?"

"What are you on about?" Pei Yin activated a medical device. "We still need to handle this. Yan Qin’s chances of Awakening have increased again."

He walked over and looked down at the teary-eyed Jian Yu, his Adam’s apple bobbing.

"Taking the medicine can indeed help stimulate an Awakening, but the side effects are quite severe. My advice is to wait and observe for now."

A hoverchair floated over.

Pei Yin sat down.

He pulled aside Jian Yu’s white velvet skirt, revealing her calf underneath, and removed the two invisible warming strips from the top of her thigh.

He secured the red Healing tubes from his hands to either side of Jian Yu’s leg.

As the fluid was injected, a faint, sharp pain began to spread.

Jian Yu couldn’t help but reach out a hand.

Ling Yanzhi caught it, gripping it tightly in one of his.

He leaned down and gently kissed the corner of her trembling lips. "Be good. Don’t distract Doctor Pei while he’s treating baby’s leg."

The slick tendril roamed wantonly, scratching and pinching.

Jian Yu bit her lip and whimpered softly.

A pink mist spread out, its scent deliberately suppressed, leaving the room filled with a tantalizing ambiguity.

"Are you really just treating my leg?"

She tilted her head back, her slender, delicate neck looking pale and tempting.

Pei Yin’s gaze grew greedy.

There was no Yulan Fragrance in the air, yet he felt that every inch of Jian Yu’s body was emitting a sweet scent.

’There are benefits to having three people.’

’One to control her hands, another to restrain her legs.’

Pei Yin leaned in and kissed Jian Yu’s lower lip.

’More delicious than ever before.’

"I... Mmph, I don’t want the treatment anymore," Jian Yu said, turning her head away.

A moment later, her chin was forcefully turned back.

Her legs began to struggle, but the tendril held her fast by the foot, allowing her to thrash only within a controlled range.

Pei Yin’s tall figure loomed over her again. "It doesn’t hurt. I’ve lowered the pain level significantly since last time."

He rolled up the sleeves of his white coat, revealing the bulging blue veins on his cool, pale arms.

His well-defined fingers cradled Jian Yu’s chin.

A deep, lingering kiss fell upon her lips, right in front of the other two men.

Jian Yu blinked, and tears spilled from her eyes, blurring her vision.

She kept glancing toward Ling Yanzhi out of the corner of her eye.

But all she heard was Ling Yanzhi’s short laugh, tinged with a sick sort of pleasure.

"Baby, who was the one who wrote you that love letter?"

Xi Yu, still in a state of excitement, held down Jian Yu’s thrashing legs.

At the mention of a love letter, the light in his eyes instantly dimmed.
