Why don't you build a village on top of the world tree

Episode Thirty: The Journey Takes the Road

The water supply was also completed, and it was decided to head on a field trip to win a stop design tournament hosted by Yoinsley.

It's been a long journey. I estimate a little over ten days round trip, but will I manage to come back by winter?

and talked about the plan, including the itinerary, and Richay looked difficult.

"I'm worried, so I think someone should follow Amane."

"It reminds me, doesn't it? That snow shake that Mr. Melmie and the others stepped out of their marriage."

"... he's gone horrible. It's the heart of your sisters..."

Teten just wants to say that. And the snow wobble dropped because it was snow, and I was the one who otted Richay and the others.

As she stares at Teten, Richay looks in trouble.

"I have to accept applications for stop design competitions at my office, and how's Melmie?

"Mr. Melmie needs to work because he was ordering furniture for work in the winter. You want me to grab a guy from the merchant on his way to Yoinsley and go with him?

"In that case, it's a matter of going home. If it snows, I'm on my way home. Safe travel isn't that much of a problem."

That much was discussed, and Richay and Melmie's eyes were pointed at Teten.

"You're done making smoke for winter, aren't you?

"Mm?... umm"

"... no, you can't"

"It's only gonna be a leg job."

"Mm!?

After Teten looked somewhat uncomfortable when he was judged to pull my leg due to physical problems even if his plans were available, he smiles all the time and decides on a doya face against me.

"I'll take care of your absence..."

"It's a novel face."

Tetenistically, you're gonna win this thing?

We talked about what to do and ended up going alone.

"Well, I'll get you a souvenir too."

"I like dried mushrooms and stuff."

"Okay. I'll find it."

We all took our seats and headed to the front door, and Richay and the others dropped me off and I left home.

The destination is east, but once you take the third branch south through the city of Kattella it turns out to be a shortcut.

While drawing in 3D in my head the drafts I had assembled beside proceeding with the water supply development, I headed to the site early.

We arrive at the scene without snow or rain, and I look around.

Only the branches of the no-layer on the cloud have a good view. There seems to be no connection with the measurement data contained in the materials distributed by Yoinsley.

When it came to designing competitions hosted by Yoinsley, it was also held at branches where Wax Ant was nesting. There was quite a bit of confusion then, so I guess the investigation went to keep in mind.

The branches were flat, without any major bulges. I guess I chose branches that weren't rippled in relation to laying the Heavenly Tower Corridor. We will modify the draft in our heads as we observe the distance from the towns on the cloud level from the end.

You need some manpower. I want to know exactly the straight distance from town.

I look over the branches.

Similar participants were multiplying their voices to form groups of three or more, measuring. It would have been just fine with Kanes, but he's not here yet, or after his visit already.

When I tried to speak appropriately, I was called from across.

"Amane, that's an odd encounter!

He sees the person's face and shifts his gaze to his outfit without discerning. I know you're a demon bug hunter, but I wonder if this is who you were.

Three fellow warthog hunters, my eyes meet and I bow my head.

A foursome warthworm hunter.

"Oh, a pair of amateurs who came near Takakus on a snowworm hunt and were wrecked!

"Thank you for your help with that verse"

A pair of foursome with a dusty head down.

Those were the ones who were in distress during the snowstorm when Takakus was still a village. Me and Billows went searching, taught me how to hunt snowworms.

With that said, you said you were also from Joynesley's Devil Bug Hunter Guild then.

"You've also taken on a request to escort design competition participants?

I ask the Quadruple questions as they mix up with the participants on the branches and watch the warworm hunters hitting perimeter alert.

"That's right. I received a request from Joynesley's Demon Bug Hunter Guild."

"Oh well. So you've been recognized as one person."

I don't have that foursome.

I get smudged, then I come up with a fuzzy question for the Quadruple.

"Haven't you heard how many guards the Joynesley's Devil Bug Hunter Guild intends to place at the Heavenly Tower Corridor, starting with this stop?

"I'm sure you can find out more by contacting the guild later, but it's mostly blank about the number of people. For once, rumors are circulating that it will be in the form of dispatching a few people at a time with the backbone guards."

"I knew I'd settle for that shape."

Trunk guard is the term used to refer to the demon bug hunters who are placed to prevent the kind of demon bug that cannot fly up the trunk.

There are many troublesome kinds of people who just can't fly up the trunk and are heavyweight, simply big, or have poisonous hair. This is an important part of stopping these from eating in the trunk when they are not waterborne. Essentially, the Devil Bug Hunter, who is judged to have extensive knowledge of Devil Bugs along with the arms of the bow, takes charge around. I've done it a few times, too.

If the security of the Heavenly Tower Corridor is to be handled around the same way, the defense function of the stop needs to be extremely easy to understand, including the flow line, and the narrow (sama) area where the Demon Bug Hunter can safely snipe even if his arms are slightly worse and he tries to allow the Demon Bug to approach.

Well, I wasn't even going to incorporate a complicated method of defense originally. The other guy's a demon bug, and he's basically just coming in. There aren't many kinds of intimidating attacks with sound, like Cyrillic.

"It was helpful. Keep up the good work."

"Yes. If you have any demon bug material you want or anything, make a request. I'll get it. Well, if you're Amane, you're going to procure yourself."

That's what I said, a foursome looking at my bow I was bringing for protection.

"Anyway, I'm the founder of Takakus who will crusade the Cyrillic Giri..."

"I'm not the only one who did it."

Instead, I think the guild leader is the best feat.

"By the way, aren't you back on guard?

"It's a break now, so it's okay. And then I'm in charge of tonight's night security, and I'm planning to feel like I'm turning back to Jonesley tomorrow."

"If you're free, can you help me measure it? If you can't, I'll hit the other one."

When I asked him to show me the architects who were just around, the quartet took me on with pleasure.

Of the Devil's Bug Hunter, they give detailed instructions because they don't know how to measure them, and they match them with materials published by Yoinsley. Again, there doesn't seem to be a wax-ant nest this time.

Within the surveying, there comes a bunch of nonstop demon bug hunters because of rumours that there are founders of Takakus who took part in the Cyrillic Crusade. As it is just fine, groups will be organized around variants who know how to measure to help survey the architects of the design competition participants, while answering questions about the fight against Cyrillic as appropriate.

"- Where do I go next to help?

"- How loud is the thrill giri sound?

"- I heard you're organizing a survey squad here?

At some point, there was a crowd around me.

A line of warworm hunters who came to hear about the Cyrillic Battle, warworm hunters and architects lined up as help with surveying, craftsmen who came to see how things were going, and competition participants who asked for help with surveying.

I can't start the return journey when I say I'm done surveying. I'll handle the three columns.

At last, when the survey was also revealed, the quartet came biting down the absences.

"Good luck. Surveying has been a good pocket money."

"I'm sorry I took care of you. I didn't know this was gonna happen."

"I feel like I've learned that it's not always a good thing to sell names and get credit."

'Cause you're gonna get busy.'

I mean, I can't go home today anymore, and I look up at the twilight sky and sigh.

You're going to stay on the night shift, the Quadruple sat around me.

"By the way, we were all talking earlier, and the museum in Takakus is decorated with a specimen of Cyrillic, right?

"Oh, the Devil Bug Hunter has come from the East, West and North of the World Tree to observe, scholars have sketched it, and it's still pretty busy. There are specimens of demon worms other than Cyrillic, so some painters from Beautellarm are coming to practice sketches, and they're touring the North Side of the World Tree as part of their rookie training for the Demon Bug Hunter Alliance."

"You're doing great..."

Quite a few people come and go all the time. Cyrillic's ability to attract visitors is amazing, but he hasn't lost the ring to the special exhibition. When Takakus craftsmen and people who could process warthog nail material made artifacts and sold them, customers continued to buy them as souvenirs.

Talking about the situation, the quartet looked at each other with pity.

"Why don't you go check it out?"

"What, you wanted to do a tour of the museum?

When asked, the quartet snorts all together.

I remember the faces of Richay and the others I was worried about when I left Takakus, and I suggest to the Quadruple.

"Then if you'll escort me to Takakus, I'll give you a special admission to the museum before it opens in the morning. Escort fees include a special admission to the museum and 100 pieces of iron for four people. How about we leave it to the four of us to handle the demon bugs we hunted on the road?

"Is that okay!?

"Oh. I'd love to hear from you after you failed your snowworm hunt."

"Thank you"

The four of them stand up and bow their heads simultaneously. The architects and demon bug hunters who were on the way home came as if they had attracted interest.

I have a feeling it will matter again......

"- So, you swelled up to this number?

"Well, like that"

There were about forty demon bug hunters and architects behind me as Richay turned his gaze.

"I said I'm worried about you alone, but you don't have to make it this number"

"I told you there were only four special entrants to the museum, but it was for tourist purposes."

Most of the time this is an opportunity to enjoy the road and take a tour of Tacax while listening to me.

Something about watching the unique architecture of Takakus before the tournament to nourish your English. The Devil Bug Hunter seems willing to follow as an architect's escort and hunt for the snowworm that the Quadruple once failed with the onset of winter.

By the way, the quartet is also on fire for revenge. This time it was my intention on the road that just the four of us would tailor the snowworm exactly and make a sweater.

The museum also has specimens of snowworms, so I want you to work out the operation well.
