Chapter 1551: Going alone
They had wanted to rest in this place a bit longer, but it didn’t seem like Su Ling was planning on letting them do that.
Su Ling came up to Lin Fan and almost seemed to pull him away from this place.
The way that she moved was as if she had something to show him, so it wasn’t as if Lin Fan could just ignore it.
Though when Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu made to follow him, she suddenly raised her hand as if she was stopping him. The way that she looked at them, it was clear that she wasn’t allowing them to follow along.
Ye Qing Huan narrowed her eyes to look at Su Ling, but then it seemed like she had noticed something. Which was why in the end, she looked at Lin Fan as if she was resigning to the fact that she should go.
Xiao Mu still looked confused about all of this and wanted to tag along, but it wasn’t as if Xiao Mu could go against Ye Qing Huan in the end. Even though Xiao Mu looked at Ye Qing Huan with a confused look when she stopped him.
Lin Fan also was confused why Ye Qing Huan didn’t stop him, but it wasn’t as if she was going to tell him anything with the way that she looked at him.
So in the end, he had no choice but to follow Su Ling.
Once he came out of the room, he couldn’t help feeling that there was something strange. But it didn’t take Lin Fan long to realize what it was that had changed around him.
The pressure that he felt when he entered this place was gone.
The only thing that had changed was that...
"So it does split the power of this token if I’m using it with others."
Though this was something that Lin Fan had already suspected, it wasn’t as if there was anything that could confirm this.
But now he was starting to understand why Su Ling had called him out alone.
"It seems like the place she’s leading me isn’t simple."
After all, if she was insisting that he come alone so he didn’t share the power of the token, then it could only mean that he needed the full power of the token to resist the pressure in their destination.
However the fact that it wasn’t simple was something that he couldn’t help feeling excited about. After all, the less simple this place was, the more likely that there would be some kind of special treasure in this place.
Though whether he would be able to get it or not was the question.
Regardless, it wasn’t as if Lin Fan was afraid to try it.
Even following Su Ling, it took a while before they reached their destination. Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling that there was something strange about the way that Su Ling led him forward.
For some reason, it felt like she kept looking back at him. It was almost as if she was observing something about him with how she kept looking.
But in the end, it wasn’t as if she had any hostility and it wasn’t as if she led him into any traps. It was just that he felt uncomfortable when her gaze was on him.
So it wasn’t as if there was any harm to him for going along with her.
Still, there was a part of him that was trying to figure out what it was about himself that Su Ling was trying to figure out. After all, the way that she looked at him was anything but normal.
Once they reached their destination, Lin Fan stopped in place and looked carefully at the door in front of him.
Though he had already expected this place to be special, it seemed like this was actually a bit more than he had expected. The traces of spiritual energy coming from this room were too much for him to handle.
It was so sharp that it even seemed like it might cut him just for coming too close.
But this was the place that Su Ling had led him to and there was a reason for this.
While Lin Fan was still hesitating over whether he should go in or not, Su Ling had already opened the door that was in front of him. Even though she didn’t have a physical form, she was able to open the door just by pointing at it.
She still had this connection to the pavilion even though she was just a soul in the array.
When he entered the room, he realized why Su Ling had this connection.
In fact, it was only natural that she would have this connection since this was something that should have belonged to her in the first place.
This room was an armory.
It was filled with the different equipment that belonged to the disciples of this law enforcement pavilion. Naturally Su Ling’s equipment would have been in this room as well.
The equipment that Lin Fan was the most interested in was the ones that were in the back. These were the ones that were giving off the strongest aura, so there was no doubt that they were the ones that were most powerful.
If he had to guess, it was most likely the equipment of the elders.
But the problem was that he wasn’t able to get anywhere near these things.
It was only natural that he wouldn’t be able to approach since this wasn’t the kind of equipment that could be used unless one had the permission to use it.
So it wasn’t as if he was able to take these things right now.
Instead, the only thing that he was able to take was a sword that Su Ling was floating near.
Seeing this, it wasn’t hard for Lin Fan to figure out that this sword was the sword that Su Ling had used once when she was alive.
With how Su Ling was floating beside it, it was as if she wanted him to take it.
Lin Fan hesitated a bit before reaching out for it in the end.
After all, this sword was indeed a powerful item, but it wasn’t something that belonged to him. At the same time, it wasn’t as if he could use this item properly since he already had something else that he used.
But it seemed like Su Ling wouldn’t stop until he took her sword...
So he had no choice but to take the sword in the end even if he didn’t think that he would be able to use it.
Only after Lin Fan took the weapon did Su Ling seem satisfied and stopped pressuring him.
Holding the sword, Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling that this sword was suited for someone else. It was just that with the way that Su Ling had acted, he didn’t think that he would be able to hand this sword over to anyone else.
If he were to do that, there really was no telling what Su Ling would do to him.
But it was better than him holding this sword that he couldn’t use at all.
So that was why Lin Fan handed the sword over to Ye Qing Huan in the end.
The moment that he did, he could already feel the dissatisfaction coming from Su Ling through their connection. But even without that, it would have been easy to tell that Su Ling wasn’t happy about this with the look on her face.
If it wasn’t for the fact that there was this connection, then the sword would have been sent flying from their hands.
Though it didn’t seem like Ye Qing Huan was able to draw out the power of the sword either. At best, it seemed like she was only able to use it as a normal sword instead of using it as some kind of artifact.
"Let me have a talk with her for a bit."
Lin Fan was surprised when Ye Qing Huan suggested this, but it seemed like he had something to say with how he opened his mouth at first. Though that quickly stopped as he felt something coming from the connection.
It seemed like Su Ling also wanted to talk to Ye Qing Huan with what Lin Fan was feeling from the connection.
The two of them went over to the side and put up a barrier so that no one would be able to hear what they were saying. With how they talked...or rather with how Ye Qing Huan talked, it seemed like there was a serious conversation that was happening between them.
It was just that no matter how Lin Fan observed, he just wasn’t able to see through what they were talking about.
But when they were done, it seemed like they had reached some kind of agreement.
Ye Qing Huan was able to use the sword and Su Ling seemed satisfied with what Ye Qing Huan said.
Lin Fan looked at Ye Qing Huan with a confused look, but all she did was look at him before shaking her head at him.
Seeing this, Lin Fan just felt even more confused since he had no idea why she was treating him this way.
But in the end, it didn’t really matter since everything seemed to work out in the end.
What he didn’t know was that there was a simple reason why the two of them had bonded.
"It’s the face, isn’t it?" That was the question that Ye Qing Huan asked Su Ling.
