Chapter 1540: Mist Lord again
When Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu came into the pavilion, they came over to where Lin Fan was.
But when they did, the two of them had confused looks on their faces.
"What are you just standing here for?"
Lin Fan looked at them with one brow raised before pointing behind himself and saying, "You don’t see it?"
The two of them shook their heads and looked at him with a trace of concern. After all, as far as they were concerned, he was just pointing at nothing.
Lin Fan shook his head with a faint smile when he saw this, but he knew what happened.
Before the elder that controlled this place disappeared, they most likely fixed the array that had been around this ball of mist so that no one would be able to see the ball of mist.
Well, that was except for Lin Fan who held the array flag that allowed him access.
That gave him the ability to see through the array.
Even if he were to put the array flag down, it wasn’t as if he would suddenly lose sight of this ball of mist. The array that hid it already recognized him as someone that had the right to see through it, so it wasn’t going to take that right away from him.
In the end, Lin Fan should still be the only one that could see it.
However, it wasn’t as if that was a bad thing.
After explaining what happened in this place, the two of them came forward to look where Lin Fan had pointed before. It was just that no matter how they looked at it, they weren’t able to see the ball of mist at all.
Even with Xiao Mu’s special abilities, it seemed like it wasn’t able to see a single thing.
Though it was more than that since Lin Fan could see that there was something flickering in Xiao Mu’s eyes. It was most likely Xiao Mu accessing the database that it was connected with to find any information that it had on this ball of mist.
But Lin Fan knew that it would be impossible for Xiao Mu to actually find anything.
This ball of mist was regarded as one of the biggest secrets of the Dao Sect, which was why it was part of the main inheritance that came with the entire Dao Sect ruins. There was no way that the database that Xiao Mu had access to would have any information about this ball of mist.
Ye Qing Huan on the other hand easily accepted the explanation that Lin Fan gave and even seemed to lose interest in it. Instead, it seemed like she was thinking about something with the way that she looked around the room.
Though in reality, it was as if she was looking at something outside of the room.
Lin Fan didn’t say anything at first as he looked at the ball of mist, but he could see the change in her expression.
He was familiar with this change in her expression since he had been with her for so long. This was the kind of look that she had when she was thinking about doing something bad.
After a while, Ye Qing Huan finally asked, "How much control do you have over this array?"
There was a part of Lin Fan that had already expected this, but he gave it to her straight.
"Not well enough to do whatever you want me to do."
Ye Qing Huan didn’t say anything at first, but then she said, "Do you really know what I’m thinking?"
"I have an idea, but not the entire thing."
Ye Qing Huan slowly revealed a smile before saying, "What if I said that I had a way of making it work without actually having to do much?"
Lin Fan raised a brow to show that he didn’t really believe her at first, but he didn’t say anything to refute what she said.
Since Ye Qing Huan was saying this with confidence, then she should have some kind of plan.
Ye Qing Huan didn’t ask any other questions as she came forward and whispered her plan into his ear.
Lin Fan’s expression changed several times as he listened to what she had to say, but it didn’t seem like he was against the plan that she had come up with. Instead, it almost seemed like he was impressed with the plan that she was proposing with how he looked at her.
After all, it was quite the bold plan.
At the same time, there was a part of him that couldn’t help thinking of something else.
It was the role that he had played on the other continent.
If they thought that he was the same person because of it, then it would be bad.
After all, that Mist Lord was technically someone that represented the Laver Empire and had negotiated with the Five Great Sects previously. If they were to connect the dots and trace it back to him, it would be bad for him.
"No, it shouldn’t be possible since they should already know about the array that’s in this place. If the mist appears now, they’ll just think that it’s part of the array that already exists in these Dao Sect ruins."
With that, Lin Fan agreed to go along with Ye Qing Huan’s plan.

"Is the mist clearing up?"
The disciples of the Five Great Sects had already been wandering around the Dao Sect ruins for a while now. Adding up the time that they had been in this place, it was already close to a month.
So they were already used to seeing the mist appear in this place.
Even if they were fools, they would have known that this mist was something that came from the Dao Sect that inhibited them.
Or else it would have been easy for the righteous sects to loot this place in the past.
But for the mist to clear up now, it really felt like it was some kind of trap or it was some kind of opportunity.
They were more prone to believing that it was the latter rather than the former. After all, there were only bits of the mist that cleared up.
So after hesitating for a bit, they still followed the path of the mist that cleared up.
They had no idea what was waiting for them, but it seemed like a waste if they didn’t at least explore this path that was placed in front of them.
Though they did make sure to carefully follow the path that was laid out for them. They didn’t push too deeply or else it would have been too dangerous.
After a while, there were others that also gathered around. Looking around, they could see that there were a bunch of paths that all led to the same place.
Only looking around even more, it really didn’t seem like there was anything here. No matter how they looked or used their spiritual sense, it really felt like this place was completely empty.
Seeing this, they couldn’t help looking at each other. As they did so, they all had suspicious looks in their eyes.
After all, it really felt like this was all part of someone’s plan. It felt like someone was manipulating them all to gather in this place.
"Did someone find a treasure that allows them to control the array of these ruins?"
They really had no choice but to think of this worst case scenario since it seemed like it was the closest to the truth.
If this really were to happen, it would be hard to predict what would happen to them. After all, the days of exploration during this time had already told them what they needed to know about this array around the Dao Sect ruins.
Anyone that could gain control over this array would have power that was similar to an immortal’s. Or at least that would have been the case in the place covered by the array.
In this Dao Sect ruins, was there a place that wasn’t covered in this array?
So it could be said that anyone that had control over this array should have control over their life and death.
Though it wasn’t as if they were certain that this array could actually do anything to harm them. So far, the only thing that they had been able to determine was that this array could block spiritual sense and trick them.
After a long moment of silence where more and more people seemed to be gathered together, it seemed like they finally couldn’t take it anymore.
The ones that arrived first were also the first to leave this place. But that didn’t mean that everyone left according to the order that they came in.
Some of the ones that came later noticed the strange atmosphere of this place, so they didn’t stay either. They knew that something was happening in this place and they didn’t want to get caught.
Some directly left through the mist and some followed the paths that had been cleared out. It seemed like everyone had their own thoughts on what kind of power this array could be hiding.
The one thing that they agreed on was that this array was being controlled and it was dangerous.
For the ones that were watching the disciples of the Five Great Sects gathering like this and then scattering in the same way, they didn’t panic at all.
That was because this was all part of their plan.
