Chapter 355 - 162: Red-haired Captain, Long Live

Wei’en looked at the five piles of bones before him. Crystal-clear and like jade, they lay scattered on the floor.

"There’s a huge problem with that dream realm...!"

By now, he had a much clearer understanding of that dream realm of slaughter and its collection of murderous intent.

If a Dream-Enterer was left undisturbed, they would awaken safely, but the murderous intent generated during the process would be gathered by the repository.

But if they were unfortunate enough to die, it wasn’t just a simple matter of collecting murderous intent. Their life essence, souls, and everything else would be taken as well.

’What a terrifyingly grand scheme...’

Wei’en could only imagine the astonishing amount of murderous intent and life essence those things had collected over countless years.

Just what kind of being could create something so terrifying?

Compared to this, the little stir caused by Ales and the Noble Committee was nothing more than child’s play!

With this in mind, Wei’en took out a blank sheet of parchment and began to record all of his findings.

"New Era, September 1, 1578. Cordo Sea..."

Ever since leaving the Caster City State and ceasing to be a low-ranking Intelligence Officer, he’d felt like something was missing.

Only now did Wei’en realize what it was: the habit of keeping records. He hadn’t been chronicling his experiences in writing.

’Should I act as my own Intelligence Officer from now on?’

’Seems like a good option.’

Wei’en amused himself with this mischievous thought, but his hands moved dutifully, recording his discoveries since setting sail and treating it as a travel diary.

It was worth noting that he wrote all of this in the Gonzalez language.

The reason was simple. ’If I don’t use my expert-level Gonzalez, what was the point of learning it?’

’Surely it wasn’t just to translate Clelia’s Era Relic?’

"Speaking of which, since my advancement, I still haven’t had a chance to translate that relic..."

After muttering to himself for a moment, Wei’en put away the parchment and took stock of the tasks at hand.

The highest priority was to understand the system for Official Mages and figure out the method for his next advancement.

Though his advancement had been successful, his rank was still stuck at Junior Mage. With his current base attributes being comparable to the Director Level, his rank didn’t match his actual power at all.

Next were the more immediate matters: the Wizard gathering in four days at the tower in the Nightmare Realm World, the Joker’s "request," and... Tina.

After that, he needed to learn more about the Ghost Soul School. And, yes, he also had to gather intelligence on the *Black Pearl*.

The final item on the list was Clelia’s Era Relic: he needed to study knowledge related to mechanical modification, prepare Shawa’s modification plan in advance, and teach Zero how to create Mechanical Puppets.

And if he also included his own studies in runeology and potionology, plus gathering the survival points and various attributes needed to increase his power...

Adding up all these odds and ends, he suddenly realized that during the potentially tedious voyage ahead, not only would he not be idle, but he would actually be unexpectedly busy.

Wei’en sighed. This was his own choice; he had no one to blame but himself.

If he had accepted the Research Center’s invitation and returned north to the School, he would have had far fewer responsibilities, but the rate at which his power grew would have slowed as well.

It might have even slowed to the point where he could only rely on Ghost and the others’ Meditation to increase his power...

That was not an outcome he wanted!

"You reap what you sow..."

KNOCK, KNOCK KNOCK...

Just then, a knock came from the workshop door.

Wei’en got up and went to the door. The only person who would knock so politely, he figured, could only be Miss Undead.

"Clelia just returned. She said that on the ship, um, Triangle-Eyes is looking for you," Shawa said as he opened the door, turning slightly to the side and bowing her head.

’Triangle-Eyes? Ah, Ronan.’

"Thank you for your trouble, Shawa."

"No, it’s no trouble at all. Also, lunch is ready. You may dine whenever you’re ready."

After saying this, Miss Zombie didn’t linger, turning and walking toward the center of the theater.

’Lunch... And that polite "you"?’

Wei’en chuckled softly. ’Looks like Miss Zombie is really getting into her role as an Attendant.’

’Still, what could Ronan want with me at a time like this?’

He glanced at the piles of bones behind him, then with a wave of his hand, stored them in his Space Ring. Immediately after, he took out the Golden Key and returned to the *Ronan*.

"Long live the Red-haired Captain!"

Huh?

Hearing the cheer, Wei’en was a little confused. ’What’s gotten into these pirates...?’

PS: There will still be an extra Chapter tonight, but it’ll be late, so don’t wait up.

I just realized I hit five hundred monthly tickets this month... so I owe another bonus Chapter.

I’m about to go on a release spree!
