Chapter 2 Episode 30

Different Worlds Summon Day 175 [Showdown] Part 2:

"Sudo... please lend me your wisdom..."

In a room in the castle of Iraklion stained red at sunset, the Duke of Gerhardt bowed his head to the man who covered his face with a hood.

"Duke, please raise your face. A noble man like you bows his head to someone like me."

A courteous salute comes from behind the hood.

Though the man's tone was most disrespectful.

"Please! There's only one thing the Lord can count on!

It is an unthinkable low profile from the usual Gerhardt.

But Sudo had a mockery in his hidden face behind the hood.

Because I knew why Gerhardt was so low and why.

The story goes back to this morning.

"So! You're telling me to give you the full authority of the army! Hodrum!"

"Of course. If you command, you will not win what you can win. Can't you see that? His Excellency the Duke of Gerhardt."

"You! What do you look great in the minute you've fallen!

The meeting, which was supposed to determine the future policy, was now turned into a place for Gerhard and Hodlum, for the two of them to contend for the right of initiative.

"But if I take command, you can definitely win, right? With all due respect, Lord Gerhardt doesn't seem to have the manpower to direct. Then why don't you take command of me while I'm a genius?

At first, Gerhardt was planning to use it successfully by giving Hodrum some of his command.

But if you try to be a hodrum, you don't have to think of people who don't have actual experience.

Because it's more efficient to direct it yourself.

The meeting is disputed by Hodrum's kick in Gerhardt's proposal early in the meeting.

"They say what! Lord Gerhardt's men have many warrior warriors! There's no need to entrust Lord Hodrum with command!

"Hmm? I've never heard of such a strong man... what did I say? I lost four times as proud of my soldiers... yes, I've heard of a knight named Kale."

The colour of contempt floats in Hodrum's face.

The deputy who told Hodrum back got stuck responding when he heard Hodrum.

As a matter of fact, Gerhardt doesn't have more commanders than Kale.

"Damn it..."

"Number one! I believe that the fact that I have appointed a man of no such competence as commander of the army also represents your own competence, Lord Gerhardt?

"Nah!"

"Rude!

Hearing what could be described as a bystander of Hodrum, Gerhardt's deputies faded.

"Hmm? I didn't know you were pointing out facts to represent anger, could you have vessels? My Lord Gerhardt!

Hodrum's tone completely ridicules Gerhardt.

disrespectful?

No, it was a totally disrespectful situation.

"You... what are you thinking...?

Gerhardt asked Hodrum.

(Why? How can you be so strong?... 2,000 knights under his command, huh? This one's in formation, but there's 20,000 of them... why?

Sure, it's true that the situation isn't fragrant because of Ryo Mitsuzai, but Gerhard couldn't understand the basis on which Hodrum showed such a strong attitude.

"I hope to win this battle. I'm just insisting on what it takes to win."

(I also understand that... but that's not everything!

To be fair, Hodrum's claim is correct.

I don't see the talent to shoulder Hodrum only from the point of view of command.

But...

"I agree with General Hodrum!

Gerhardt's grid is broken by one man who was in the corner of the room.

"" "Nah!

The gaze of everyone on the spot is directed at the other man.

"Didn't you hear me? Then let's say it again! I said I should delegate all command to General Hodrum!

The meeting place quieted down like it hit the water.

Everyone could not speak up for much.

"What are you going to...? You betray me? Kale!"

Gerhardt's voice gets low and cold.

More than that, Kale gave Hodrum an excuse to endorse it.

Now it is more impossible to suppress anger.

"What are you saying! My lord! I am only sitting here doing my best in my duties!

"What...?

Gerhardt was stunned by Kale's words, which could be remedied.

"In the first place, I serve Master Gerhardt because I'm expected to be a military genius! I am obliged to do my best to win this battle!

Here Kale looked around at the nobles who were in the conference room when he cut words.

"So the only way to beat an opponent that I can't even beat is to give a more experienced commander full powers and command than I do!

"Ke...... Kail...... you!

Gerhardt could read Kale's aim.

(This one...... you're going to hit the lead and get into the hodrum! Shit!... I shouldn't have let him attend this meeting!

Kale ran to self-preservation when he realized Gerhard's credibility had been lost in earlier defeats.

When it comes to breadth, it is breadth.

Gerhardt had decided to cut off Kale when he received his earlier defeat report from Kale.

But I didn't think Kale was aware of it.

Gerhard's desire to use it as much as he could gave Kale a chance to reverse it.

(Shit! Why did you call Cale here!

Gerhard's gaze pierces the deputy sitting next to him.

But this is Gerhard's fault.

He holds the disposition pending later when his deputy advances Kale's punishment.

But I haven't issued an order to freeze Kale's authority here.

What happens then?

Kale's treatment is the same as before, even though punishment is a prerequisite.

There is no longer a reason not to have Kayle present on the occasion of an important meeting with General Hodrum to discuss his future policy.

"Ho! You're Lord Kale!... No, it's not a rumor! I never thought you'd be so good at judging the situation!

"I am delighted to receive exaggerated praise."

My mouth, which was supposed to curse about Kale until earlier, now spits the exact opposite word.

Neither is Kale supposed to be listening to Hodrum cursing until earlier. There's no way he cares.

"As long as it's done... if Master Kale says so, I'll have to agree!

"Nah!"

"Stupid......! Count Ardelheid! What are you talking about?

Another human on Gerhardt's side expressed his endorsement.

The deputy's face is turning bright blue.

That would be natural, too.

2nd place in the aristocracy.

I mean, because the right arm, which has supported Gerhardt for years, agreed with Hodrum.

"I'm sorry. Lord Gerhardt.... please don't take it badly. We are responsible for our ministers… we cannot just sit here and wait for death."

I said I made a bitter choice about everything, but Gerhardt wasn't fooled.

I've been feeding the Kingdom of Roselia for years.

Minister?

Gerhardt has cut out that there is no way he has such a special heart.

But the people around me would be fooled by it if they made a face that even faces like Likata were sorry.

(This... No more...)

While animosity and anger dominated the mind, Gerhardt's brain was grasping the status quo in cold blood.

If Count Ardelheid, the second-largest powerful man of the aristocracy, agrees with Hodrum, he is already as trash as Gerhardt's opinion and other debris.

One aristocratic face after another agrees with Hodrum's opinion, as he cut off the factual link.

"Bye! I will command all of the soldiers!

The meeting ended with these words of Hodrum.

Leave the only Duke of Gerhardt sitting in his chair blindly.

"Please! Sudo!... There are only people who rely on them!... please!

Sudo watched the Duke Gerhardt's plea with cold eyes.

Gerhardt was obliged to silence his own plea.

Kale or Hodrum?

I do not know which approach, but it is only clear that the Duke of Gerhardt has taken over his own faction as a result of the morning meeting.

If you try Gerhardt, you're just aware of Princess Lupis' impending reinforcements, and you're stuffed with cuts.

(Is this the man who was the prime minister of the kingdom of Roselia... if you lose the power struggle, you'll only be trashed for free...)

A contempt for Gerhard came to Sudo's mind.

(Speaking of the powerful, you're just a person if you fall off the seat of power... well, politicians are the same around there)

But we can't abandon Gerhard to accomplish Sudo's mission.

At least not now.

(Six months on orders from home country...... well, if we keep this guy alive at worst, can we afford to impose measures again...)

"Rest assured, Lord Gerhard. I can help you."

Sudo gently wrapped Gerhardt's hand gripping his robe.

"Oh! Is that true? Are you sure you want to help me?! … but… the situation in which the eagle was placed…"

The usual high-pressure appearance has no fine dust.

If I ordered you to loosen your shoes, you'd be so humbled that you could really lick them.

"It's okay. I'll take care of it."

"What! You mean you can crack this situation open!

But Gerhardt's tone goes back to normal in an instant.

At the end of the day, it's just acting that he played humility and didn't take a high-pressure attitude.

But Sudo didn't care about Gerhard's attitude.

"Well, though, your Excellency will bear the corresponding burden, won't he?

Gerhard's face clouds in Sudo's words.

"Burden or... money? Is that power?... I guess it's not called the neck of a eagle?

(This guy... can't he still lose his greed even after this period)

Sudo shook his head in disgust at the filth and depth of the race he called aristocracy.

"Your neck will be fine. But there's nothing more you can do about it than give up your money and your power."

"Stupid!... That doesn't make any sense!

"No, it's not. Giving up doesn't mean you can't deal with it."

Duke Gerhardt's face changed to Sudo's words.

"What do you mean?

"As things stand, there are not many hands His Excellency the Duke of Gerhardt can strike. General Hodlum has taken command of the soldiers."

"You don't have to say what you know!

Gerhard roughed up his voice at Sudo's words.

It must be like having salt imprinted on the wound.

But it's good luck in a way.

"What? What do you mean!? Hodlum took command of me. What luck!

"To be honest, the enemy commander is quite a killer. Just so we're clear, we're not gonna win this one."

"What! You!"

Gerhard turns his gaze to Sudo so much that he will stare and kill him.

"Listen to me."

Sudo's voice remains the same.

But the atmosphere clearly changes.

Cold and sharp, slapping killer.

slapped towards Gerhardt. It returns his mind to normal.

"Shh... sorry..."

Words of apology leak out of Gerhard's mouth.

"Then let me continue my explanation. I was half-hearted, too, but the water attack that took away Lord Kale is quite an object. The subsequent information manipulation can also be described as accurate.

"Information manipulation?... you mean the example rumors?

"Yep. Undoubtedly, I am the enemy's commander."

"Again... right..."

Gerhardt seems to have understood, too.

"Do you think General Hodrum can beat a human being who can work out so closely by then? … predictably, the enemy must still have a wife's hand, right?

"Is that true!?

"Yep. I wouldn't do anything to loosen my hands."

Gerhardt felt as his hidden face in Sudo's hood laughed.

"Then what!? You're gonna give Hodrum some advice!?

Gerhard made a suggestion that everyone would come up with.

If you think about it calmly, you'll know that doing that won't improve Gerhardt's position, but apparently he didn't turn his mind that far.

Sudo shook his head beside him and denied it.

"That doesn't make sense. Use it more than that."

"Usage? What do you do?

"I will not say anything to Hodrum like this, but I will ask Princess Lupis' army to lose."

"Stupid! Then everything will be over!

Though there is a great nickname for holding Princess Ladine, from Princess Lupis's point of view, this battle is only a rebellion.

Gerhard is his mastermind.

There is no doubt that if we lose the battle against Princess Lupis, they will take responsibility.

But Sudo shook his head again.

"That's fine. It pushes all the blame on Hodrum."

"What!

"They took the lead because of it. Make the most of this situation."

Gerhardt felt as if he had a terrible grin on Sudo's face.

"But... is that possible? When I say I push for responsibility in the first place, it doesn't change the fact that I started an army..."

"Yep. But that responsibility can be successfully reduced. As Princess Lupis, you must also execute someone as a mastermind of civil unrest. Normally, His Excellency Gerhard will be his target…"

"Right! Now there's Hodrum!

"Exactly. If there are two people who can be executed as masterminds, one can save lives depending on the negotiation."

"But... are there negotiating bills that Princess Lupis thinks could save my life?

Nothing like saving the rebel mastermind.

It probably won't be possible for Gerhard to capture Hodlum and offer him to Princess Lupis.

But Sudo said softly about Gerhard's distress.

"Isn't there? In the dungeon."

"Dungeons?... Dungeons... Dungeons!

In Sudo's words Gerhard remembered a certain human being.

"But... is that worth it?

I did think of what Sudo called a negotiating tool.

But I don't think Gerhardt deserves it enough to save his own life.

"Hey. Don't worry. Princess Lupis will always negotiate... always."

I can hear Sudo's inclusive laughter from behind the hood.

Gerhard had no other skill than to snort with vague anxiety.

Because he is now in danger of utter desperation.

Thus the day of the showdown approaches with a moment.

No one knew the end of it.
