Synopsis
In an attempt to end her engagement with her unfaithful fiancé, Ivy Sherwood, who is acting unattractive, ensnares her fiancé's uncle. After a night of pleasure, Ivy Sherwood throws down two hundred dollars and comments, "The service last night was pretty good." Just as she plans to slip away, she finds herself drawn into the man's hold: "Isn't it your turn to serve me now?" Quentin Blackwood stands as a menacing presence in The Veridian Circle. Someone reports having witnessed him forcefully pinning a woman against a wall and kissing her passionately, but others adamantly deny it: "Impossible! Who could ever catch Master Blackwood's attention?" Some suggest that the woman might have been Ivy Sherwood, prompting the crowd to mock: "That's even more impossible! Master Blackwood doesn't even glance at stunning beauties, how could he ever be interested in an ugly woman?" However, everything changes when someone sees the distinguished man kneeling to place a shoe on Ivy Sherwood, merely to entice a kiss from her. Upon realizing Ivy Sherwood's actual appearance, the deceitful fiancé suddenly understands and wishes to apologize, only to be thrown out by the other man, who then reveals a marriage certificate: "Call her Auntie."
