Chapter 311: A Suffocating Scene
The Blackwood villa alone covered a vast amount of land, and besides the main house, there were plenty of other rooms.
Even the doghouse was more luxurious than their own master bedroom.
It was a clear sign of their immense influence; they had money to burn.
Everything in the home was incredibly expensive; even a seemingly ordinary plant could be worth hundreds of thousands.
The main house, in particular, was breathtakingly grand, radiating an air of nobility that had been cultivated over many years. It was obviously the home of a wealthy family.
It was only then that the Nashes understood what Ivy Sherwood meant when she told them to figure things out after they arrived at the Blackwood estate.
The Blackwood family also had many servants. ’It must be so comfortable to be waited on by so many people,’ they thought, looking at the rooms and the grand house.
Mr. and Mrs. Nash decided on the spot that they weren’t leaving. They would stay here for a while, and the aura of poverty about them was instantly exposed.
Mrs. Blackwood and Sylvia Blackwood were both aghast. There was no way the Blackwoods would let them stay here—not even for one night.
However, Mr. and Mrs. Nash were well-known for being shameless scoundrels; they were infamous for it among their old neighbors. They planted themselves in the house, refusing to leave, just to see what the Blackwood family would do.
Mrs. Blackwood and the Nashes argued nonstop, completely ignoring that it was Anna’s wedding night.
Meanwhile, Silas Blackwood was giving her the cold shoulder and had even slapped her in their room.
The family got almost no rest the entire night. Mr. and Mrs. Nash treated the place like their own home, ordering servants to wait on them, cook their meals, and give them leg massages. They sat in the great hall without a shred of decorum, impossible to drive away.
Moreover, the two of them were dead set on living in the mansion. They even called their relatives to boast about how their daughter had married into a good family and how the place was more beautiful than a palace. They even considered calling their son over to live there with them.
Now, forget one million; even ten million wouldn’t be enough to get rid of them.
Anna Nash had had enough. ’If I could,’ she thought, ’I’d kill these two people who call themselves my parents.’
’But planning a murder takes time. It has to be done without a trace, so it can’t be linked back to me. If something were to happen to them at this critical juncture, I’d be the prime suspect. So, killing them is not an option.’
But she couldn’t get them to leave. She knew Ivy Sherwood definitely had a way.
She didn’t know what kind of spell Ivy Sherwood had cast on them, but now they listened only to her.
She had texted and called Ivy, but Ivy wouldn’t answer. So, she had to ask Silas Blackwood for the location of Ivy’s company and rushed over to find her.
She knew Ivy was doing this to force her to get the ashes.
"Ivy Sherwood, you’re the one who sicced my parents on me! You have to send them back!"
Ivy looked at her without a trace of fear. "Are you ordering me, or are you negotiating with me?"
Anna Nash bit her lip. "I have no idea where Caleb Blackwood hid your mother’s ashes. There’s no way for me to get them."
Ivy replied, "That’s your problem. I’ve already given you plenty of time."
"However, the moment you bring them to me is the moment I’ll make your parents leave. If you’re fine with that, you can leave now. If you’re not fine with that... you can also leave now."
"Ivy Sherwood!" Anna glared at her. ’Does she really think there’s nothing I can do to her?’
"I know my name is lovely, but you don’t have to shout it. With all this time on your hands, you might as well think of a name for the baby in your belly. I’m out of time today, and my schedule is full tomorrow. The day after tomorrow seems pretty free, though. I don’t like being idle, so what on earth should I do?"
Ivy pretended to ponder this with a troubled expression. "Maybe I’ll go have a chat with Caleb Blackwood. Do you think he’ll see me?"
Anna Nash bit her lip. She understood. This was Ivy’s deadline.
Anna had only been out for a moment, but her phone was already ringing nonstop.
Silas Blackwood, Sylvia Blackwood, and Mrs. Blackwood were all calling her. Just looking at the screen made Anna’s head throb.
Ivy summoned Edie. "See our guest out."
Anna left Ivy’s company. When she returned to the Blackwood estate, she was greeted by the sounds of a tremendous uproar.
Mr. and Mrs. Nash were sitting on the floor, crying and screaming dramatically.
"Is there no justice? Is there no law? You can’t treat people like this, Mrs. Blackwood! So what if I’m a little poor? You think you can look down on the poor? Do you dare say that in front of everyone?"
"You say we have no manners? And your family does? Your son got my daughter pregnant before they were even married, didn’t he? Is that what you call having good manners?"
"And from the looks of it, none of you have any manners either! If you despise us so much, you shouldn’t have let your son marry our daughter! What’s so great about being rich? We’re here to take care of our pregnant daughter. What business is it of yours?"
Anna’s parents had exceptionally vicious mouths. Their aggressive, irrational behavior had Mrs. Blackwood completely stumped.
Mrs. Blackwood normally couldn’t stand such people, and now they were refusing to leave her house. When she threatened to throw them out, they would start rolling on the ground before anyone could even touch them, threatening to livestream it.
"Let me make something clear: this is my house! Who the hell do you two think you are? It was your daughter who threw herself at my son. Your daughter climbed into my son’s bed, stripped naked to seduce him! Your daughter is the shameless one!"
Mrs. Blackwood continued her tirade, "Now I finally see who that little bitch Anna Nash takes after! It was in her blood from birth—shameless, just like your entire family!"
Mrs. Nash was not about to take that. "Who are you calling shameless? Who’s a little bitch? I think you’re the bitch here! Who knows how you married into this family in the first place? ’Climbing into bed’ this, ’climbing into bed’ that—it rolls off your tongue so naturally. You must have done it a few times yourself, haven’t you? Maybe you were the one with the real talent for climbing into beds, and that’s how you landed such a cushy life!"
Mrs. Blackwood was so furious she was trembling. "You... you... You shrew! How dare you speak to me like that!"
Mrs. Nash put her hands on her hips. "What’s wrong? Did I strike a nerve? Getting angry because I hit the nail on the head? If you ask me, you’re the one who looks more like a homewrecking seductress. At least we’re decent folk. Your family, on the other hand? You’re all about shady, back-alley dealings!"
"You... you shrew! What nonsense are you spouting!"
"So I’m a shrew. You think you’re so high and mighty? Well, my daughter married into your family, so half of your assets are hers now. Half of this house is hers. I’m going to live here, and if you have the guts, go ahead and call the police. I’d love to see if they can manage to kick us out."
Mrs. Nash stood her ground, utterly unmovable.
Mrs. Blackwood flew into a rage upon hearing this. "What did you say? Our family’s fortune has absolutely nothing to do with you! Get out of my house! Get out!"
"On what grounds!" Mr. and Mrs. Nash wouldn’t budge.
The sight of them made Mrs. Blackwood’s blood boil. She threw her dignity to the wind, lunged forward, and gave Mrs. Nash two hard slaps across the face. "I’ll kill you, you shameless hag! Get out! GET OUT!"
At that, Mr. Nash jumped in to block her, shoving Mrs. Blackwood back. "What gives you the right to hit my wife?"
"You dare to hit me!" Mrs. Blackwood completely lost it, raking her long fingernails across their skin and leaving bloody scratches in their wake.
The group descended into a tangled mess of shouting and fighting. The scene was absolute chaos.
