Even Quentin Blackwood was startled. ’Yvonne Summers actually had that much money?’

Moreover, it seemed the Sherwood Family didn’t know about this money, and perhaps even Ivy Sherwood herself was unaware.
"What does this have to do with the Jade Pendant?" Quentin Blackwood asked directly.
Zane Linton said, "According to the information we found, the Jade Pendant is a token. The people managing this fortune will only release it to Miss Sherwood if they see the Jade Pendant, along with her marriage certificate."
’The Jade Pendant and a marriage certificate?’
’So that’s how it is!’
In that moment, Quentin Blackwood understood. No wonder Caleb Blackwood insisted on Ivy Sherwood marrying Silas Blackwood, regardless of what Ivy was like or what happened.
So, that was his scheme. The beads of his abacus were clacking far too loudly.
If Anna Nash hadn’t been carrying Silas Blackwood’s only child, Caleb Blackwood probably wouldn’t have let Silas marry her.
"Can we get the Jade Pendant?" Quentin Blackwood asked.
’Regardless, this fortune belongs to Ivy Sherwood. It has nothing to do with Caleb Blackwood.’
’It’s a lot of money, but I don’t care. I have no use for it, so Ivy can do whatever she wants with it. But it absolutely cannot fall into Caleb Blackwood’s hands.’

"A person with Yvonne Summers’s ordinary background couldn’t possibly have so much money. Go investigate. And find out what kind of grudge existed between her and my mother, or if my mother discovered some secret of hers, leading to her being ruthlessly murdered."
At the mention of his mother, a hint of coldness entered Quentin Blackwood’s eyes.
His mother’s death had always been a thorn in his side. Over the years, the clues had dwindled, but he couldn’t let his mother die without knowing the truth.
She, too, was once just an ordinary young woman. It was because of the Blackwood Family that she got dragged into all this.
Old Master Blackwood was callous and unfaithful, a womanizer through and through. It’s just a pity he died too soon, before Quentin had fully come into his own.

Zane Linton knew Quentin Blackwood understood. Yvonne Summers might have come here under a new identity. To have handled things so cleanly meant her methods were anything but ordinary.
Without even knowing her real identity, searching for her was like looking for a needle in a haystack in this vast world. Who knew how long it would take?
If they dug up what happened in the past, it was highly likely Ivy Sherwood would get dragged into it as well.
Quentin Blackwood only said three words: "Go investigate first."
’Of course I know,’ he thought. ’Ivy Sherwood’s hidden appearance must conceal a great deal.’
’Even if the investigation uncovers what happened back then, I will do my utmost to protect Ivy.’

Ivy Sherwood rested for a day, and after briefly getting over her jet lag, the next day arrived. This was the time she had arranged to sign the contract with the company from Elandra.
Ivy Sherwood set out with Edie and people from the legal department, and they soon arrived at the company.

"Ivy Sherwood, you used illicit means to get this contract. Are you going to pretend you didn’t?"
"Illicit means? I don’t know what you’re talking about. If you just came here today to watch me sign the contract, then I’m sorry, but the contract is confidential." With that, Ivy Sherwood prepared to walk inside.
Thea Sherwood stretched out an arm, blocking Ivy Sherwood. "You know perfectly well what you did. This was supposed to be a fair and just competition, with no connections involved. But you? Didn’t you get in through connections? How good could your proposal be? My proposal was written by professionals! My product is better than yours, my proposal is better than yours, so why wasn’t the Sherwood Company chosen?"
"And these people here? They’re all from the companies that were rejected. I paid for their flights and accommodations to have them all come here and see exactly where they lost out!"
Only then did Ivy Sherwood see that there were quite a few people over there.
’After latching onto Charlie Rhodes, Thea’s really become a big spender, hasn’t she? Flying all these people out here.’
She gave a cold smile. "Fine. Then I’ll make sure you’re all thoroughly convinced."
Edie, however, was a little worried. She tugged on Ivy Sherwood’s arm. "Boss, she’s clearly here to make trouble. We haven’t done anything and have a clear conscience, but what if Thea Sherwood has another trick up her sleeve? What if she angers the client and they cancel the contract?"
Ivy Sherwood said, "It’s fine. If Thea Sherwood wants to cause a scene, someone will deal with her."
Across from them, Thea Sherwood still looked smug. ’This company is a major player in Elandra, and its boss is none other than the brother of Elandra’s Princess. He is known for his integrity; all of his company’s collaborations are handled like public bids—fair, just, and with no room for personal feelings or favoritism.’
Precisely because of his status, if this collaboration was successful, they would open up a path for themselves in Elandra, at the very least.
Soon, a tall, beautiful secretary came downstairs and said to Ivy Sherwood, "Miss Sherwood, our boss is waiting for you upstairs."
Then she looked at Thea Sherwood and the others and invited them to go up as well.
The spacious conference room had a wide, open view. The architecture here was different from back home, with a very strong stylistic character. The view from the floor-to-ceiling windows was beautiful.
It was just a shame that no one who had come was in the mood to appreciate the scenery.
Ivy Sherwood was here to sign the contract, which had already been prepared. The company’s boss had come in person, and over to the side sat their consultant, Mr. Sam.
