Yomigaeri no Maou

Episode 26: The Welcome Party and Where the Rustys Are

The Fire Dragon Demolition Show is over, and then the Lulu's returned to their family (clan) home base.

That and the other clan (clan) constituents kept the momentum of the show and now entered the Lulu's welcoming party.

The dishes are later, for now, pour the liquor with the tavern into each glass or jock,

"That's why I say, to a new fellow gatekeeper, cheers!

Gran put up a pair of ales in the jock side by side, and at the same time said so, followed by other humans gathered in the tavern as well: "Cheers! He said," I put up a jock, bumped into each other, and welcomed the Lulu's.

Did you just say that the family (clan) "Explorer of the Age (Elam Kupidr)" is not so much a great place, but it seems to be a family (clan) of a small number of adventurers there, and the number of people in the tavern is more or less twenty?

Sometimes being a large clan (clan) means there are a hundred and two hundred people, so I guess it means medium-sized, but still a good number of people and the enthusiasm of the liquor store is amazing.

The ratio of men to women is half, which seems to be racially variable.

There were also ancient tribes similar to Yumis (elves), as well as the Beasts (Animazeas) that were not often seen around the village, and I remembered nostalgia for a species that existed just like old times.

It seems extremely odd that a multitude of races are juggling alcohol in the same place without division in this way, but at the same time it is one of the dreams I dreamed that if it could have been achieved in the past.

With that in front of him, Lulu remembered just a little touching and, without hiding his grin, watched the miracle that years and coincidences must have created.

"Hey, are you having fun?

That's what Gran says and he approaches.

Next door was Yumis, who looked just a little tired.

"You'll be enjoying it. Look, you're laughing. Isn't that right, Lulu? Fun, isn't it? It's fun!"

The tension I'm not sure if Yumis is angry or in a good mood is probably due to being drunk on alcohol and tiredness from using a lot of magic in a demolition show.

Still, it maintained its boundaries on that scale for nearly half a day after all, so its arm is close to its peak as a magician of this era.

"Oh, I'm having fun. I'm sorry you came all of a sudden, but you even had such a welcome party."

Lulu answers with a bitter smile.

But that face never looks grumpy, and you can tell you're enjoying it as words say.

For a long time, it's true that I don't hate this kind of place, but rather enjoy it because I liked it.

Yumis disappeared to some table singing in a good mood to see if he was relieved or what Lulu's words were.

In the long run, similar interactions seem to be repeated with other family (clan) members.

I'm drunk.

Gran drinks, but for once seems to keep her sane, nodding with a serious face.

"Good for you... I feel like I miss Rusty and the others, but, well, I'll be back the day after tomorrow"

To that reassuring voice of Gran, Lulu asks questions concerned about the condition of his childhood friends who are not here.

"With that said, what are they doing now?

"Please, please. Even so, someone I know sent me a nomination request..."

"What's the nomination request?

To unfamiliar words, Lulu tilts his neck.

Gran nodded and continued.

"When you're an adventurer, you'll have to do it sometime, so I'll tell you right now, there's a big deal about requests: general requests and nominations."

I knew that the system of adventurers was basically made up of a request system, but I didn't know much about the details, so Lulu decided to ask seriously.

"You know more or less what that means... a general request is one that does not specifically designate the person making the request, and a nomination request is one that limits the person making the request to a specific person or entity. In more detail, there are restricted general requests and unlimited general requests, but restricted general requests are requested by specifying the rank of the adventurer, and unlimited general requests are not specified. There is no such distinction because such a restriction is unnecessary in nature for a request for nomination. You see this far?

Saying that in one breath, Gran stops the word at one end.

When Lulu chewed the content and made sure he understood it, he looked at Iris and asked him if he understood it as well.

Iris also seems to have no problems, as does Lulu,

"In other words, are you sure that restricted general requests, unlimited general requests, and nomination requests, are the types of requests in the Adventurers' Union?

and asked Gran to sum up the story.

Then Gran nodded once, but said there was more, and continued.

"No... there's no limit to the nomination request, but there's another kind of this. It's usually a nomination request and a special nomination request. While the former is what regular individuals and organizations nominate and ask for an adventurer, the latter refers to what the adventurer union itself makes a request to a particular adventurer"

"I see... is that more than the type of request?

There may still be more to it, Lulu asks.

Then Gran nodded,

"Oh, that's it. Therefore, there are four types of requests: restricted general requests, unlimited general requests, normal nomination requests, and special nomination requests. So, the majority of requests sent to the Adventurers Union will be general requests and usually nomination requests. Special nomination requests are rarely made. Something of a nature that has more than a certain strength or is never offered to anyone but a special skilled adventurer. It's a kind of request cumulation to say that it has nothing to do with new adventurers in particular. … but that doesn't mean you don't need to know about this."

"Why?"

Lulu tilted his neck wondering.

If Gran's story is true, it's supposed to be a request that newcomers have nothing to do with.

If so, I don't think I need to worry about it.

Lulu and Illis may have special skills, but they don't even think about blowing them. I don't think so.

Gran continues.

"Because special nomination requests are difficult to refuse, and can result in penalties if you refuse. Therefore, it is necessary to keep in the corner of your head that if you do not take it, you must think carefully. By the way, penalties can vary, but be very careful because it's the worst form of removal. You guys are worried around here..."

Gran said so and did a worrying eye to Lulu and Iris.

Removal disposition, I don't think, is tough, but I wouldn't even say it's out of balance if I think that something of importance that the Adventurers Union has to enforce up to that point would be a special nomination request.

Even though the Adventurers' Union is an organization that receives very little restriction by individual states, that's not why it's not expected to play any role.

Especially with regard to activities against demons, it seems that certain duties are imposed on the Adventurers' Union, which also creates an obligation for adventurers to contribute if a mass outbreak of demons occurs and the Knights belonging to the State cannot cope with it alone.

It seems that's when the special nomination request is made, and Gran says he's been through it several times.

So I was talking about never letting myself out.

Then Gran turns back and talks about how the Rustys are doing.

"So... Rusty and the others are ordering a general nomination request. The Client is a family member (Klan)" Explorer of the Age (Elam Kupidr) ""

"What is that...?

The same goes for whether they receive requests from the family (clan) to which they belong, but Lulu also asks, wondering why they made requests.

"You asked me to do a little errand... there were three rookies in our family (clan) the other day. That said, he's a kid from a member of our family (clan)..."

That's what Gran said, and he glanced at a particular table in the tavern.

There sat two middle-aged men and one woman who thought she was about the same age as a man, and when she noticed Gran's gaze, she put up a jock to meet him.

"That's their kid. So..."

"Did you make a request to those children?

When Illis heard, Gran shook his head.

"It's not. Those kids usually got a public request. This is my first requisition. Restricted general requests for lower floors. But I'm asking you... to collect herbs that grow in the belly of Mount Njols... there's a problem."

"... what's wrong with that?

Herb collection.

Dangerous demon crusade, not that it seems like a good thing for a first request.

But I can tell by the words of the next Gran that that sounds like the wrong reasoning.

"No, the herb collection itself is fine. It just takes two days from here to get to the middle belly of Mount Njols, right?

"Oh... well, I have to be able to take a day trip"

Gran nodded to Lulu, who understood and said so.

"I said beforehand to make it about herb collection because it's my first request, but I was expecting it to feel like I was choosing a nearby forest or something like that at best... when I realized I'd already ordered the request and I was out of town"

"What happened then?

Iris continued as if he had been annoyed.

"You're welcome. I had no choice, so I asked Rusty and the others to pursue me and escort me. Like I can't find it. That said, Rusty and the others have a life too, so it would be bad to detain them for days just because they belong to how many clans (clans). So I put out a nomination request and let him go. Well, it's not like those kids are weak either. I didn't have a problem with that much procedure. I feel a little overprotective... but it's my family's idea to take care of it until we're alone."

So Rusty and the others are gone.

Lulu and Illis nod understanding.

"Rusty and the others wanted to see you, too. I haven't had many requests to leave the city lately, but the timing was too bad... and I can apologize for that."

"Couldn't the Grans have gone after those kids?

When I thought of it, Lulu asked.

Gran and Yumis are still a lot better than the Rustys, if you say so on merit.

If you mean to track them down because you're worried, they should be more certain to go.

It's something that doesn't even seem so busy.

Of course, there was a fire dragon demolition show, because there would be, but if it wasn't, I could have left it to another human being.

I'm pretty sure you're going to be able to do something about chiffon.

Gran answers such a Lulu question.

"You could have gone, but if you think about when they found you. I thought it would be easier for Rusty and the others to go than we did. Even a kid is an adventurer. There's a pride. This kind of thing, I have to sneak up on it. Besides, listen, Lulu. Those kids, they respect the Rustys more than I do, don't they?

To an unexpected story, Lulu's head grew white for a moment.

"Huh."

Gran, who laughed at such a reaction, continues the conversation.

The funnier I hear it, the more and more my imagination expands in Lulu's head.

The same goes for Illis, a face that looks like it's about to blow out.

"Well, look at him when you get back. 'Cause it's funny. Rusty and the others are called brothers and sisters. Well... not only those kids, but the newcomers from other clans (clans) also respect the Rustys, so it's a sight I'm already used to seeing in the Wang capital. It's just... that's why I've known them since I was drooling... it's crazy. Come on......"

With that said, Gran sighs a jock ale and pours more liquor out of the barrel and drinks it up.

I wouldn't know if I didn't actually see those Rusty's being treated like brothers and sisters, but it's a funny sight for the Lulu's.

It's amazing, rather than laughing, that someone you know is being bewitched by a celebrity or something like that.

In fact, I remember that even when Lulu had become the Demon King in the past, Bacchus, the father of Illis, was staring at Lulu's face with a face that was about to blow out.

The opposite seems to be about to happen to me then.

That's what Lulu thought, even though Rusty and the others were determined not to blow up even looking at the scene where they were actually called brothers or something, but imagining that such a sight would play out in front of him, he didn't think he could very well fulfill that determination.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

The next day, Lulu and Illis stood in front of the Adventurers' Union.

I think there has been a lot about Wang Capital, but it is registration at last.

Registration doesn't seem to take that much effort on its own, so go easy on yourself.

There are also references and family (clan) accession agreements for Gran and Yumis, so there seems to be no problem in terms of credibility.

It seems that the Adventurers' Union occasionally has a reception to say that you can get into a profession that is suitable for you or something else so that you can go home to your village for those who come at the minimum age of being able to join the Adventurers' Union, and if you have a letter of introduction, you can say that it is a measure against those who said that, or you can join without troublesome interactions.

"Well, I can't help staying here forever, let's go"

Lulu told Ilis so and stepped out to move on inside.

Illis followed suit into the Adventurers' Union.
