Yomigaeri no Maou

Episode 147: The Failure of Illis

The next morning, Lulu and Illis spoke out when they left the inn to go ask the village chief what exactly to do, who had finished his meal at the inn and wanted him to help with his hard work.

"You got a minute! You guys must be adventurers!?

Looking back, there were two boys dressed in hemp clothes and one girl standing.

Very young, probably about ten years old, it seemed.

That said, there will be no difference in years just as Lulu looks around fourteen, both in fame and because Illis looks as its ancient demonic nature.

Perhaps that's why it was so easy to talk to him, Lulu asks as he leans his neck about what the hell it's for.

"- Yeah, but what can I do for you? We're going to the village chief's house now..."

Then, of the three, a boy in a slightly swollen shape, like a leader, came forward and said.

"Oh. I was wondering if you had a moment. Actually, we, eventually, want to leave the village and be adventurers! So I wanted to talk to you..."

Hearing that, Lulu once remembered the Rusty's when Gran and Yumis came to the village of Cadiz.

I mean, these boys are just like the Rustys used to be.

Boys admiring adventurers in a village far from the capital.

From the Grans, I can see once again the goodness of their people that Lulu definitely looked like a part of those too, if I recall now, they were something they used to hang out with the Lulu's.

If you're a common adventurer, I've heard these occasions are good.

The adventurer is undoubtedly a mountain master, but registration is not difficult in itself.

It's something you can be if you want to be, and you can live a good life if you succeed well.

What I admire there is an understandable mood, and it is not a bad decision to suddenly go to the Adventurers Union (Guild) and not try to register, but to listen to the occasional adventurers and the like to find out the reality.

However, it seems that most adventurers get rid of it because of the troublesome smell, but I have the feeling that Lulu was, and still is, getting better from Gran and Yumis, who just stumbled into the village.

Had it not been for them, Lulu would have been an adventurer, but it is likely that he would not have met Illis, and the Rustys could have been still dull in the village.

They owe a great deal.

With that in mind, I thought that Lulu would also be obliged to tell those who wanted to go backwards, like the Grans once did, exactly about the profession of adventurer.

I don't know if the boys in front of me will be adventurers after a few years, give up, or find another dream and run out there, but I want to give them the possibility.

That's what Lulu tells the boys.

"I see. Okay."

"Then...!

Boys much brighter in Lulu's reply.

As for Lulu, after every village chief's request, I tried to say that the boys are willing to listen now.

Shit, I looked at Iris thinking,

"... My brother-in-law (who is here), please go to the village chief. I'll take care of these kids..."

I said.

Sure, that sounds like the best part, but I feel sorry for Iris getting into trouble with Lulu's cheap contract.

But Iris understood the look on Lulu's face like that,

"Depending on what you think, this one might be easier. Mr. Murakami's favor means hard work."

and follow me.

Sure, depending on the content, that's true, but there will be fewer cases when the child's opponent is more difficult.

But Iris,

"No. I like little kids so...... I'm fine. So…"

"So?

As Lulu urged him to continue, the nearly told Illis somehow breathed again and shook his head,

"No, it's nothing. Okay, brother-in-law. Please be careful."

I said and waved.

Lulu, too,

"Oh, I'm sorry, Illis. I'll see you later."

That's what I said, waved, and headed to the village chief's house.

The place is asking the master of the inn.

Even the village says it's a relatively large building, so you'll soon find out.

I just dropped off Lulu walking away, and Iris follows the boys.

I don't know where you're going, but I guess that's what Rusty and the others were always up to in the village of Cadiz.

The boys seemed to understand from the flow of the story that Lulu wouldn't follow them, but it doesn't seem to mind if Illis were to come.

It may well be because what they want to hear is the story of the adventurer.

And in the meantime, one of the boys, just one girl in the threesome, approached and visited the Illis, who was a little distance from the two boys moving on.

"Sister."

"Yes, what is it?

"What did your sister just say?

Apparently, the girl is concerned about the continuation of the words that Illis tried to say to Lulu earlier.

Iris was a little confused about what he had answered, but he thought a little and opened his mouth.

I tried to tell you that it's okay because I'm going to talk to you.

Like that.

But the girl looked blatantly disappointed when she heard it, so Iris asks the girl wondering what was going on.

"... what is it?

Then the girl,

"Yeah... because I missed my predictions"

Apparently the girl was anticipating something that Illis was trying to say.

Curious as to what the hell Iris expected to say, Iris asks.

"What kind of prediction is that?

"Yeah...... 'I like little kids, so it's okay whenever you have kids'"

Iris was struck by the words, like being slapped in the head.

No way, because I never thought a kid who wasn't even old would say that.

When I was surprised where the hell I remembered such rhetoric... I said the reason from the girl.

"Yesterday, Stephanie's sister told Yurk's brother. They were both a little red."

Stephanie is the name of a girl, and Yurk seems to be the name of a boy who has spoken to Lulu.

I see, he has a sister and brother of the right age, and that's what happened in the conversation between them?

He doesn't seem to understand exactly what it means, he looks like nothing.

Then Stephanie approached the Yurks and joined them.

Iris, distant behind them, snaps as he suppresses his own cheeks.

"... I thought you'd spotted me..."

When Iris cooled his hot cheeks, weakly activating the ice magic on his palms, he regained his mind and proceeded to the walk of the Yulks.

"Are you building bridges?

When Lulu reached the village chief's house, he was very welcome and let inside.

They are quite moist thanks to the merchants who stay in them, and the building has both an exterior and interior.

That said, it doesn't feel like I'm being extravagant, though it seems like it's only quite so.

As I walked into the room and talked about tea and sweets, I found out that lumber hauling was the main thing that the village chief wanted the adventurer to do.

However, it seems that the purpose is to build bridges.

Besides, they say it's for an old weirdo old lady who lives in the back of a forest off the village.

"She is certainly quite different and doesn't interact with many of the villagers, but she is also an important person for the villagers. The bridge I used to call broke down about a few days ago, so I gathered the ingredients and people to fix it in a hurry, and today, I'm almost ready to work on it."

The old man seems to be a very skilled pharmacist if you ask him, and he says that if the villagers get sick or something goes wrong, he will have her look at it.

So it seems to be a problem to say that she can't come to the village, that she can't even get to her from the village.

Having understood the history, Lulu decides to take the story of the village chief.

"We have to leave in the afternoon, so I don't think we can do much to help...... if you don't mind in the meantime"

Say so.

The village chief thanked me for exaggerating for this answer and guided Lulu to the place where the ingredients for building the bridge were located.

There are around ten village men there, and the village chief introduces them to Lulu.

"This is Lord Lulu, the adventurer who came to the village yesterday. We need you to help us with today's work until we leave…"

While the village chief was explaining, the men in the village looked at Lulu and looked at him to see if he was really okay.

Lulu's appearance is a luxurious boy, so it's not impossible to have that feeling either.

But at the end of the explanation, it actually became a stage for transporting the material, and such a gaze blew away.

Lulu applied physical strengthening to his body, and with a number of potentially heavy materials, he started walking with a cheerful face.

Flashy men.

Some of them were village chiefs.

That should be it, too, and they would have thought Lulu would be much more usable than normal at the time they heard he was an adventurer, but since he is a junior adventurer, they predicted that he would be at best the same as a man in a powerful village, or a little less than that.

In fact, a regular junior adventurer would be like that, but Lulu has the power to overwhelm even the superior class, a monster.

If you simply strengthen your physical abilities and carry heavy goods, it is enough before breakfast to do this extent by saturating yourself with inexhaustible magic.

Looking back at the unobstructed men with open mouths forever, Lulu laughed and said.

"Which way should I go?

Lulu has yet to be told where the hell to build the bridge.

The men returned to me as they spoke, and they hurried to explain the direction they should take to Lulu, and they had as much luggage as they could carry.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

"... Oh, is that a wooden knife?

The boys - Yurk, Stephanie, and they say the name of the other skinny boy is Timeo - and when they finish talking about what the adventurer does and what to do to be, etc. based on the few experiences that England has had in the Adventurers' Union (guild) so far, will you give it a shot at the end, Yurk said and went somewhere, so I waited a while, and Yurk said so because he brought two wooden knives.

I've given one to myself and the other to Illis, so now you can fight, I guess.

As an Illis, I don't mind bare hands, but still speaking of adventurers, it is common for men in particular to fight with swords, spears, etc.

Looking at the boy's hand and the wooden knife, he seemed to see quite a few used marks and was also training, and Ilis decided to accept it, if only a little.

Yurk says.

"How much does Iris rank as an adventurer right now?

That's what I've been asking.

"I'm a junior. It hasn't been so long since I signed up..."

I'm not wrong, I'm just stating the facts correctly, but if anyone here had seen the battle of Illis in the king's capital, he would have said with his mouth shut that it was a fraud.

However, Yurk doesn't know that.

You look obviously happy,

"Well, it's not weird if I win!

and laughed and set up, so Illis nodded modestly,

"That's right."

I said.

There's no way Yurk can beat Illis realistically, but it's pathetic to tell him that and make him unwilling.

If you are well trained, you will understand the difference between your strength and that of Illis if you fight a little.

Originally, he looks like an honest boy, and you wouldn't have to say anything in particular.

Iris thought so and decided to take Yurk's challenge.

"Well, call me anytime,"

Yurk laughed invincibly at Iris for saying so and shook up the wooden knife.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

"... ha... ha..."

Yurk's breath is going to rise and suffer.

The sweat seems sloppy and even spicy to be gripping the wooden knife with no more grip.

But he stares sharply at Iris, making sure he hasn't given up yet.

Surprisingly gutsy.

Besides, it's never even weak.

It seemed to me that if I were to say I was ten now, I would have a solid foundation to the point where I could be confident that I would have enough strength as a junior adventurer by the time I was fourteen years old that I could register.

But Yurk doesn't seem to think so.

It seems that the next blow and temper came towards Yurk's slaughter, and Iris avoided slightly, bouncing the wooden knife,

"... you're almost there. It was a shame."

and around what I said with a cool face, Yurk looked like he was going to cry,

"… Yes……………………"

So he ran off somewhere.

Timeo saw such a yurk and went after him immediately.

Along the way, I can see how grateful they are for what Iris taught about the adventurer, as I look back and bow down to the Iris.

It was understandable from the fact that Yurk, who had run away, was the same.

But Stephanie, who still remains, said Illis tilting his neck wondering why he had run away.

"... Sister, I'm sorry. Yurk, I think I felt confident... that I probably regretted it."

Said, Illis is convinced.

"Did you make it a little too harsh?

"Yeah. Probably the other way around...... I was too gentle, I guess I was shocked. Sister, it was easy with yurk, because I figured it out too..."

I see, I understood that that kind of attitude hurt Yurk's pride, and Iris realized that he had failed.

It would have been a shock to a boy looking to be an adventurer that there was only enough power to be treated that way to say so to a junior adventurer.

He would say with his mouth shut that he had been treated like that by Illis in the king's capital, and that most of them were rather just splendid to follow along the way without breaking their hearts.

But for Yurk, Illis is only a regular junior adventurer.

Regardless of the fact that I couldn't get a blow in, I couldn't even make him sweat a little, it seemed tough.

Recently, Iris realizes that what is around Iris lacked such consideration because there were many people who understood it as a kind of exception to Iris and Lulu.

Then,

"I'm sorry for what I did. Let's go find it."

That's what Iris said, Stephanie shook her head,

"Probably more regrettable that way, so don't. Timeo's gone, and he's probably a taunt..."

So she stared at Yurk who had gone.

Then,

"I'm coming too! Thanks for today! Iris, hey, honey!

And he screams brightly, waves, and runs.

Ilis stared at it,

"... I'll have to follow you later... it's a huge failure..."

and rarely, walking towards the inn as no.

In this case, you should taste the ravioli fur.

That's what I thought.
