Chapter 901: Wedding into Business

"A-Are we really doing this?" Houqin shyly asked, her face looking a little uneasy as the clapping started to die down.

"We don’t have to," Xiaoyun quietly answered.

"But it’s tradition... You said we were going to do it in the car." Lily protested as she looked a little annoyed.

After a short consideration, Houqin made her decision by walking closer. But a problem soon arose.

Lily was only two-thirds of their height, which meant both Xiaoyun and Houqin had to lower themselves slightly.

"Ready?

With both of them nodding their head, Xiaoyun made the first move as he inched his face forward with his lips.

Next, Houqin and Lily inched their faces forward, their lips touching each other before separating as they both shyly looked at the floor.

The entire crowd fell silent. The host was a little caught off guard. Even Houqin’s parents were a little shocked.

Only people who didn’t look remotely surprised were Xiaoyun’s wives standing in the background.

"Ahem, well, looks like I don’t need to say you may now kiss... Let’s give one more round of applause for the newlywed couple."

As the guests started clapping again, both of their faces blushed even harder as they noticed the cameraman in the front row taking pictures.

Both of them completely forgot it was all being recorded live on TV.

"You two are a lot braver than I had imagined. Have fun being in the newspaper and on TV for the next few days."

Yueyue jokingly murmured as they quickly walked up to head down the stage while more and more cameramen came up to take pictures.

"Didn’t I already tell you guys not to do that a day prior?" Leyan quietly whispered as she pulled the two of them over to the side.

"W-We forgot..." Lily shyly answered first.

"Y-Yeah..." Hoquin shyly answered next.

As Leyan looked over to Xiaoyun, he had already started guiding the guests towards the other, more traditional side of the wedding venue.

The tables were full of food, with all the predetermined seats that sharply contrasted with the initial Western wedding style.

"Please enjoy the food, everyone. And for the cameramen, there’s also a table for you guys over here."

---

Shortly after the wedding...

As Xiaoyun sat in his minivan, his wives were all standing outside, waiting for him to unlock the car.

"Hey! Open the door!" Nami impatiently yelled.

"Gimme a second."

Putting in the keys and clicking the unlock button on the side, he finally opened the door, allowing them to enter from all three sides.

"Mom, I want to sit in the front this time," Yuqi demanded as she tried to reach for the passenger side door.

"Too bad. Go sit in the back."

Leyan quickly rushed over to the front, leaving Yuqi with no choice but to head back to her original seat in the middle.

Soon, the family encountered a problem.

"Hey, Mom and Xiaoyun. There aren’t enough seats in the car." Yueyue warned as all the seats in the back and the middle were filled up.

"How?"

Turning around, both of them were a little surprised as they completely forgot that the eight-seater minivan can’t hold ten people.

The two brides were still standing outside in their wedding dresses, unable to find a seat inside the minivan at all.

"Should we get in a different car?" Houqin quietly asked.

"All the other cars are already gone... Nami, go sit on Yuqi’s lap." Xiaoyun ordered as he quickly came up with a solution.

"Why me?"

"Because you are small. Hurry."

After a short consideration, Nami reluctantly unbuckled her seatbelt and went over to sit on top of Yuqi’s lap.

"Lily, Houqin, do you mind sitting together?"

"I’m fine with it."

"O-Okay."

With the two brides entering the car and buckling their seatbelts, Xiaoyun could finally drive the car out of the parking lot.

A short bumpy ride later...

"Finally! Took long enough."

As Yuqi complained out loud, Nami had already hopped out alongside everyone else in the car.

"Hmph! I’m not that heavy. Stop complaining."

"Sure you are."

Seeing the two of them exchanging a few angry words, everyone let out a small chuckle as Xiaoyun unlocked the garage door.

"Home sweet home!"

Everyone immediately fell down onto the sofa, their faces all looking exhausted despite the sun still shining brightly through the window.

"Thank god the weather wasn’t too hot. Can’t imagine sweating in this dress." Wuli commented as she kicked off her heels.

"I don’t know. I felt like it was pretty hot today."

Soon, the living room fell into silence. Nobody wanted to speak up as they all leaned down onto the sofa.

Some of them even started to feel a little sleepy from a sugar crash, as they had eaten way too much food earlier.

Except for one person.

"Hey, hey, wake up. Don’t sleep yet." Nami suddenly hurried as she got up from the sofa and reached for her laptop on the coffee table.

"Let me take an afternoon nap."

"Same."

"A day without taking care of the babies was the best idea Leyan had ever suggested," Shuli quietly murmured.

"Hey!"

The moment Nami yelled out loud, they stared towards her in confusion, unable to understand why she wanted to draw their attention so badly.

"Nami, what do you want?" Leyan weakly asked.

"I was supposed to present a business idea today. I need all of you to look at it and agree to it before going to nap."

This time, Xiaoyun’s wives finally sat up from the sofa, looking back at her with curiosity as Nami opened her laptop.

"What business idea?" Wuli asked curiously.

"A tech conglomerate."

Nami paused for a second as she clicked on her computer, which instantly hooked up the projection to the TV screen.

"We start with the basics, like instant communication, then we work with financial transactions to integrate it into our apps.

I already talked to Luqian about this, and he’s more than happy to work with my IT teams to get it working."

"So, a budget WeChat?" Shuli immediately questioned after connecting all the dots inside her head.

"Bigger than that... We’re going to do cloud hosting, server management, every step of the way to the online world is going through this company."

"That sounds expensive..." Tianci quietly murmured.

"That’s why I need all of your consent to approve it. I have already found a small team of employees that can easily scale up."

As Nami started showing a roadmap on the screen, half of them were still semi-confused while the other half looked opposed to it.

"How many people even have the internet right now? It’s not that high, is it?" Wuli raised her concern.

"Nope. That’s further from the truth. Almost every person who has a bank and a phone is fully covered by their cell service.

I had already sent out a small team to conduct a public survey, and what I found is that most people are not properly utilizing their phone."

"As in?"

"There’s simply not many apps and websites available. The majority of them that require an internet connection no longer work.

But with a small conversion of my IT team, we can easily take hold of the market in this hidden digital marketplace and turn it into a multi-trillion industry."

"How much do you need?" Leyan questioned.

"About... The initial funding only requires 10 million dollars."

"That’s like spare change. I can pay for the whole project myself." Kate immediately gave her the offer.

"Yes, but after the initial funding, it’s going to need 1 billion dollars for the rest of the financial quarter to expand operations beyond Luoping."

"Never mind."

As Kate backed down from the number, Yuqi soon noticed Xiaoyun sitting there the whole time without saying a word.

"Babe, what do you think?"

"Looking at your roadmap, I think it’s not ambitious enough."

"Really?"

Both Nami and Yuqi were surprised, as having one billion for a year, which only had a few months left, already sounded ludicrously expensive.

"Why not just launch at every city from the start? Why only start in Luoping? Is there some sort of technical difficulty behind it?"

𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"N-Not really. But I just thought it might be better to start small first."

"If that’s what you think is best, then that’s fine too... Anyway, I support her idea."

Seeing Xiaoyun barely putting up any fight, they could all sniff something a little fishy between the two of them.

"Yuqi, what do you think?" Nami asked, as she knew who was the biggest hurdle in the room for her business.

"This level of vertical integration... Why would I ever let you operate a monopoly like this?" Yuqi questioned.

"Because we’re funding every part of it. There’s a lot of work left for us to reconnect everything to the data servers.

If we’re the ones who repaired everything, why shouldn’t we get the right to own the server and machines we repaired?"

Nami paused for a second, then continued.

"Besides, the majority of the company’s money is going straight to the government to purchase these server spaces and buildings—"

"I’m in."
