Zombie Apocalypse: Creation

Seeing Houqin herself not looking worried, Xiaoyun didn't think too much about it. But then something popped up in his head.

"Wait a moment, is the basement okay?"

"What do you think? This house was about to collapse if you kept going at it... Look at this picture I got."

As Kate pulled out her phone and showed it, he was stunned by the images.

What was once a flat ceiling had turned into a solid sharp edge. Tens of hundreds of pointed dripstone aimed right down.

The marble ground had a big indent on the floor, almost as if someone had cleanly scooped it out of an ice cream bucket.

"I already called a contractor to renovate it. You two should probably do this somewhere else next time." Leyan grumpily reminded them.

Both Xiaoyun and Houqin shyly nodded and looked down at the floor, as if neither of them could really say anything back.

"Hey, now that Xiaoyun is awake, he probably can go attend that press meeting on Sunday, right?" Nami suddenly pointed it out.

"Babe, you want to?" Yuqi asked first, her voice sounding a little uncertain as if she didn't want to rush him.

"It's fine, I'll do it."

Xiaoyun paused for a second, then continued.

"After all, I don't want all those conspiracy theories to go wild. Still can't believe the TV broadcaster can just openly speculate about my health."

"You want me to shut them up?" Yueyue suddenly chimed in.

"No need... Ahem, Houqin, do you want to continue the treatment now? We can go somewhere far to do this."

"S-Sure."

As Houqin quickly got up from her seat to escape his wives' wrath, Tianci got up from her seat as well.

"Let me go with you two. I want to see how you turn a zombie into a human."

For a second, Xiaoyun could notice the frown on Houqin's face. But seeing Houqin not saying anything, he didn't stop Tianci from following.

"Xiaoyun, do you remember everything now?" Tianci suddenly asked as the two of them sat in the back of the car.

"Yeah."

"So your head doesn't hurt anymore, right?"

"Mhm."

Through the rear mirror, Xiaoyun could see Tianci let out a sigh of relief. At the same time, he could notice Houqin's face seemingly wanting to talk.

"Is there something bothering you, Houqin?"

"Xiaoyun... You remember everything?"

Houqin finally spoke up, her face looking a little down as she nervously placed her hands onto her knees.

"Yeah, up to you biting through my arms... Actually, Tianci, I have a question for you."

"What is it?"

"What state was I in when you found me?"

Tianci didn't answer right away as she looked over to Houqin, whose face started to look more and more pale.

"Was it that bad?"

"It was pretty bad. I thought you were genuinely dead... I mean, I had never seen a person coming back alive after losing..."

Tianci fell into silence. Her face had the word fear written all over. It was almost as if she really couldn't describe the horror she had witnessed.

"That bad, huh... So it's a miracle that I lived?"

"More like a miracle Houqin chose to go for your brain last... You know when I found you, all of your legs and arms were gone?"

"Not the worst I had been through."

"Your entire lower body and upper body were gone. Everything from the neck down was detached from your head."

"Okay, maybe that is the worst state my body had ever gone through... How the hell did I even survive that?"

The more Tianci described the way they found his body, the more he started to realize how stupid his initial idea was with Houqin.

"Yeah, out of pure luck. You know how scared I was when I found your body like that? With only your head on the floor?"

Seeing the disapproving face from Tianci, Xiaoyun himself got a little scared after imagining his own decapitated head.

"Okay, you don't have to scare me like that. I swear I'm not doing that again. It was a heat-of-the-moment decision."

"You better... I'm not trying to make Ziling grow up without a father..."

As Tianci's voice grew quieter and quieter, Xiaoyun soon noticed her pupil started to change color again.

"Asshole. Don't do that again."

"You came out just to insult me? Hey, fuck you!"

With the alternate Tianci disappearing, he grew a little annoyed. Still, there wasn't much he could do while driving a car.

"H-Hey, don't flip her off... She's the one who restrained Houqin and snatched your head out of her hands." Normal Tianci murmured.

"Her? She saved me out of all people?" Xiaoyun questioned, his face looking doubtful towards Tianci's statement.

"Mhm. I was too weak to fight Houqin... You should have seen—"

"Tianci, c-can you stop talking about it? I-I'm going to throw up if you keep talking about it."

"Sorry."

The car fell into silence as Houqin's face looked so pale, to the point of almost seeming to be nearly transparent.

"Houqin, you okay?"

"I-I'm fine. I-I just don't want to remember what happened."

Xiaoyun froze for a second. A memory suddenly popped up in his head—a very, very old memory from the past.

One that traced almost to the first year of the outbreak. Back when he was on the trip to Foshan with Kate.

The talking zombie couple, one remembered everything and willingly ate flesh, who headed north after they made a deal with the devil.

"Houqin, can I ask you something?"

"What is it?"

"How's your body feeling right now?"

"The same as earlier?"

"Not that. I mean, does your body want to eat... human flesh?"

Houqin's face immediately blushed red. Blood rushed back to her pale face as she shyly looked out the window.

"O-Of course not."

"It's fine if you really want. I can feed you my arm just like how I feed Tianci blood." Xiaoyun offered.

"I'm good." Tianci instantly answered.

"You sure?"

"I-I already ate food that Miss Leyan cooked earlier."

"Oh, good. So you can still eat normal food."

As Xiaoyun looked a little relieved, Houqin's eyes continued to look outside as if there was still something bothering her.

"I haven't gotten your blood for so long." Alternate Tianci's voice demanded as she suddenly reappeared.

"I can give it to you after... Actually, can I give you something else?"

Alternate Tianci's face blushed for a second before quickly giving back control of her body to normal Tianci again.

"Xiaoyun, you sure you can do it? You're going to be really tired with Houqin." Tianci raised her concern.

"I'm fine... Okay, this should be a good spot."

With the car slowly coming to a stop, the three of them were in the middle of a dead-end road filled with what seemed to be newly constructed log cabins.

But all of the grass nearby was overgrown to the brim, with unnamed door signs reinforcing the idea that the place hadn't been used.

"Where is this place?" Tianci curiously asked.

"The last section of the residential area in Luoping before we captured Guangzhou. Now it's all abandoned since everyone moved back to the city."

"One of these cabins was supposed to be mine..." Houqin quietly murmured as the three of them stepped out of the car.

"Really?" Xiaoyun asked out of surprise.

"Mhm. I was still working under Mr.Yezi when I got it... But then I got offered an actual apartment in Guangzhou.

Since it was much closer to where I worked, I swapped it like everyone else. Then I got promoted to the head of the logistics department."

"Learning new things every day... Ahem, let me go set up the place first."

Looking around, Xiaoyun soon found the best spot to be a relatively flat area in the back of one of the log cabins.

He quickly created a big picnic blanket, putting it down before waving Houqin to come over and sit down.

"Can you take off your clothes? It will make my job a lot easier."

With zero hesitation, Houqin took off her shirt and jeans, revealing the latex suit she had worn the whole time underneath.

She tried pulling the zipper behind her, only to fail.

"Let me help you."

As Tianci quickly came over to help her pull it down, the zipper slider suddenly snapped right off.

"What the... What kind of cheap zipper is this?" Tianci complained as she tried to reattach the slider.

"Where did you all even get this latex suit?" Xiaoyun curiously asked as he had never seen any of his wives wear this kind of clothing.

"Nami brought it last week. We were planning to throw a surprise party on Saturday before you leave... If everything didn't go wrong."

"Huh..."

After a few more attempts to put the latex back on, Tianci just couldn't attach it back to the zipper no matter what.

"Can you just rip it? Or cut it with something?" Alternate Tianci reappears as she grew fed up watching her body fail.

"Good idea."
