Chapter 2052 - 488: Carefree Life, Peaceful Years
Although Yan Song was worried that she was too thin, he didn’t want to go against her wishes, so he took her chopsticks: "Forget it."
Yun Ya smiled as she took back the chopsticks: "It’s shameful to waste food."
Yan Song couldn’t do anything about her, so he just smiled and shook his head, his gentle expression becoming even more enchanting under the dim light.
Yan Ke secretly pursed his lips, but he was actually quite happy inside. Although he often quarreled with his big brother, deep down he hoped more than anyone else that his brother would be happy. He could see very clearly that his brother, who had been peculiar since childhood, truly cherished Sister Yun Ya from the bottom of his heart.
Once his brother settles down, starts a family, and takes on the responsibility of the household, he can enjoy leisure and freedom, living a carefree life.
After eating, Hu Sheng came in to clear the dishes and then returned to pour tea. Yan Ke, feeling bored, rubbed his round belly, while Yun Ya went inside to make the bed and smiled at Yan Ke: "If you’re tired, just go to sleep."
Yan Ke dawdled over, clinging to Yun Ya’s arm and acting spoiled: "Sister Yun Ya is the best to me...."
Yun Ya laughed and patted his head, her soft voice filled with intoxicating tenderness, "Go to sleep now."
Yan Ke still wanted to cling a little longer; Sister Yun Ya smelled so nice and felt so soft... until he suddenly felt as if there were needles in his back, and he quickly let go of Yun Ya’s hand, diving into the blanket.
Yun Ya went over to close the windows. The temperature in the mountains tends to drop, and it’s colder at night. If the windows aren’t closed and the wind blows over the bed all night, it’s certain that one would catch a cold by morning.
Yan Song watched the slender figure of the young girl, the dim lights adding a few more layers of hazy beauty to her silhouette. Watching her carefully close the window and tuck the blanket around the little rascal, her gentle demeanor resembled that of a virtuous wife. Yan Song felt a deep tenderness in his heart, an involuntary smile gracing his brows.
"I wonder how your mother’s situation is?" Yan Nanmo asked, noticing there was no response. Yan Nanmo raised his eyes to see his usually steady and cool eldest son staring straight at the room, his gaze filled with gentle warmth.
Following his gaze, he looked over and, upon seeing Yun Ya’s figure, he couldn’t help but laugh knowingly.
Not wanting to interrupt him, Yan Nanmo silently sipped his tea, calculating things in his mind.
After the new year, Yun Ya should turn nineteen; considering the traditional age, she would be twenty. He hoped for the two children to marry early. After all, his colleagues’ families already had grandchildren, and he too wanted to enjoy being a grandfather in his later years. Although this can’t be rushed and should happen naturally.
Thinking this way, he felt increasingly content. The tranquility of the mountains brought peace to his heart; the hustle and bustle of the outside world no longer affected him. If only Yueyue were here, the whole family would rarely be reunited.
Yan Ke quickly fell asleep, but the boy wasn’t an honest sleeper, always kicking the blanket. Yun Ya took a few steps, and he had kicked the blanket again. Yun Ya shook her head helplessly, returning to cover him again.
From behind came Yan Song’s displeased voice: "Don’t bother with him."
Yun Ya shook her head with a smile, covering the blanket well before turning out. Raising her head, she met Yan Song’s sharp gaze, her heart mildly stirred. Yan Nanmo coughed and stood up: "You two sit, I’m going to rest."
Saying this, he swaggered out.
As if deliberately giving the two space, Yun Ya’s cheeks flushed slightly. Would Uncle Yan think she was not proper?
"What are you thinking?" Yan Song wrapped her in his arms, burying his head in her neck.
Yun Ya quickly glanced into the room, giving him a slight push. Yan Ke was right there; it felt like eyes were staring at them...
"What are you afraid of? That kid sleeps like a rock." Yan Song was displeased that her thoughts were focused on another man. He lifted her chin and turned her head back, his deep gaze burning Yun Ya’s heart, laughing softly: "How long are we staying here?"
Yan Song played with her long hair with one hand, while the other hand gently caressed her waist: "About seven or eight days."
Yun Ya was surprised, "That long?"
She wanted to ask why, but the words stuck in her throat. She didn’t care about the reasons; all she wanted was to be with Brother Yan, that alone made her feel safe.
From now on, she wouldn’t waste energy and effort; those grudges and feuds were irrelevant. She just needed to take care of her health, not think about anything, and keep healthy, spending her life with Brother Yan. As for other troubles, Brother Yan would handle them.
