Chapter 620: Destruction

Right now, Leo was holding Lily in the air as they waited for Lunaria to return after dropping Patric and the other captives at a safe location.

Since Lily wasn’t [Spirit Integrated] with Lunaria, she didn’t have free elemental control over the wind element to keep herself stabilised in one place without being thrown around, so she relied on Leo for support. Unlike her, he didn’t need wind to float.

"Leo, how are you doing this? You are flying exactly like Niri..." she asked, looking around his body in case she had missed any skill usage.

"Haha, it’s indeed Niri’s power. Don’t worry, it’s related to my talent, and I am sure one day we both can share this ability."

Lily’s eyes glittered.

"This looks way more fun than using wind... like literally flying."

At that moment, Lunaria came sprinting towards them through the empty air in the distance.

"Did you teach her your [Wind Step] skill?" Leo asked after noticing Lunaria creating compressed wind footholds beneath her feet as she ran.

"She learns them automatically because I experiment with them while being spirit integrated with her..."

Leo nodded.

"But then... shouldn’t you be able to do it now without being spirit integrated since it’s a skill now?" Leo asked, looking at her clinging closely to him while pressing all her soft curves against him.

"Ah..." Lily seemed to realise her mistake. She had forgotten that she could do that now even without being spirit integrated.

Without another word, she released her arms from around Leo and formed a wind platform beneath her feet.

"I am sorry..." she muttered with an embarrassed expression.

"Hahaha, don’t worry. You can cling to me all you want, but for now..." He looked down towards the city.

"We have a more important task at hand."

The reason Leo and Lily were distracting themselves with casual conversation was because they were waiting for the real people to escape through the city gates. The demons, which were the soldiers and citizens, were still trying to attack them and Agni while remaining inside the city.

Leo knew the demons wouldn’t flee the city, and while they waited, most of the innocents would have enough time to escape.

Agnivar had already covered more than half of the city’s wall perimeter and was still continuing to complete the ring of fire around it. Now it was Leo and Lily’s turn to do the same.

Lily immediately became spirit integrated with Lunaria as both she and Leo created distance between themselves to cover different parts of the city.

Lily raised her hand, and dark clouds began to take shape, covering around 11 kilometres of space inside the city. Meanwhile, Leo positioned himself directly opposite her and extended both his hands forward in concentration.

He was planning to use his flames to burn the rest of the city.

Lily had 11,000 Intelligence, which meant her reach was also 11,000 meters—more than half of the 20-kilometre-wide city. As for Leo, his Intelligence stat was 10,775, but Agnivar’s [Lesser Draconic Physique] granted him a 50% boost to his mana, effectively giving him more than 15,000 Intelligence worth of reach.

When the couple combined their reach, it was more than enough to cover the entire city.

Crackle!

Lily’s thunderous clouds began to crackle with black lightning as she prepared to strike the entire region, while Leo’s pupils turned bright crimson as he called upon the full force of the [Sunblood Infernal Physique].

But this time, Leo wasn’t going to use his skill [Solarflare Torrent].

He was going to create something new.

Watching Lily had taught him something—that it was quite easy to create skills if one possessed enough control over their element, a vivid imagination, and a strong enough soul to compute the skill’s functions.

Leo closed his eyes for a moment to focus and took inspiration from Naelith’s fire tornado, which she had recently learned in the Ember Family’s Secret Realm.

Just initiating the new magic consumed a huge amount of mana.

-40,000 Mana

But that didn’t affect Leo in the slightest since he had far too much mana to play around with.

That, however, didn’t mean nothing else was affected.

A region spanning more than 5 kilometres suddenly became saturated with the fire element, while the temperature rose by another noticeable notch.

The more area Leo tried to cover, the more mana was consumed.

When a total area of 10 kilometres was taken into account, the total mana cost reached 150,000.

But in return, the entire region became charged with the fire element.

More specifically, it was the Solarflare element that possessed purification abilities.

The demons were already beginning to panic.

"What the fuck is happening?" one muttered while staring at his skin, which had started turning red as though reacting to a severe allergy. This particular demon stood right at the point where Lily’s and Leo’s areas overlapped. One side was swallowed by dark clouds, while the other was beginning to burn their skin.

"Who the fuck are they?! That woman cast such a huge area spell!" another shouted, his pupils already constricted by the sheer scale.

"Shit! I am running away!"

"Fuck! Where are you going?! Our Lord will kill us permanently if we’re found alive after our city is destroyed!"

"Man, fuck you! It took me 100 thousand years to incarnate, and you’re telling me to throw away my life now and go back to that bland piece-of-shit land?!" he shouted while running away.

"I will never come out in daylight, so Lord won’t be able to kill me!"

Crackle!

The fleeing demon suddenly felt a bad premonition and snapped his head upward.

But what greeted him was a thick pillar of black lightning that incinerated his body, along with many others, while blasting apart numerous surrounding buildings in an instant and lighting the woods on fire due to the sudden increase in temperature.

Lily had completed her preparations.

"No one is allowed to leave the city now," she declared as she lowered her hand, as if signalling the beginning of a war.

And that was exactly what happened.

Countless bolts of black lightning—thick, violent lances of darkness—tore through the clouds like the devil’s spears.

Meanwhile, within the area Leo had taken under his command, a gentle breeze began to flow.

Leo was using Lily’s wind element to guide the currents according to his will as he gradually increased their speed, with himself serving as the focal point—forming a large tornado.

Just a moment later, the surroundings charged with Solarflare Affinity began to heat up as flames ignited out of thin air.

Ding!
