Chapter 266 - 170: In the Secret Realm, Space Teleportation?
Inside lay a few Silver Coins and a One-Handed Sword that didn’t look like much.
After all, it was just a Black Iron Level chamber, from a Black Iron Level Treasure Chest...
Lin Mo picked up the Sword and glanced at it. It would have been a decent item for a novice, but it was completely useless to him now. He couldn’t even be bothered to take it with him.
The same went for the Silver Coins. They weren’t worth much, but there were a lot of them, making them too bulky and space-consuming to carry.
’If only I had a Magic Storage Bag...’
But the cheapest one of those things cost two to three thousand Gold Coins, and even then, its space was only one to two cubic meters. They were incredibly expensive.
Helpless, he could only abandon these low-value, Low Level items.
He continued forward, pushed open the door at the other end of the chamber, and was naturally met with another fork in the road.
Again, there were two paths: one to the left and one to the right.
This was different from his last time here... Lin Mo recalled that last time, after the first choice, the second fork had three paths.
He decided to use rock-paper-scissors again.
"Rock, paper, scissors!"
Lin Mo stared at the small, fair palm in front of him, momentarily speechless.
Alright, he’d lost again.
Left it was, then.
After walking for a while, a dark gray door appeared before him. This meant it was still a Black Iron Level room.
Lin Mo pushed the door open and entered. This chamber was lit by firelight, and what appeared before him were old acquaintances, so to speak.
Cat Demons.
There were about ten in total, led by two Cursed Cat Demons.
Seeing an intruder, the Cat Demons instantly bristled, letting out sharp shrieks as they charged at Lin Mo.
Lin Mo snorted coldly and kicked one of the Cat Demons away.
The next moment, he unleashed [Wind-Binding Blade], slicing two Cat Demons in his path in half. Immediately after, the skill’s vortex effect pulled the remaining Cat Demons toward the center.
Lin Mo cast a [Blast Flame Fireball], instantly killing them along with the two Cursed Cat Demons.
’I guess this can be used as a monster-grouping skill.’
In truth, [Wind-Binding Blade]’s pulling effect wasn’t that strong, but it all depended on the opponent. It might not have been able to pull Level 3 or Level 4 Demons, but against these mobs that weren’t even Level 1, it was like a powerful magnet—once caught, there was no escape.
[Wind-Binding Blade] Skill Level +2
[Blast Flame Fireball] Skill Level +16
Unfortunately, it seemed the pulling effect alone wasn’t enough to grant additional Skill Level points.
After easily dealing with the Demons, Lin Mo searched the chamber for a moment. He was surprised to find no Treasure Chest, though there was one that had already been opened... It didn’t seem to belong to this room.
’Does that mean other Adventurers have been here before?’
But the chamber they had just come from hadn’t been cleared by any Adventurers.
This meant the chambers in this Underground Secret Realm weren’t connected by one-way passages. It was possible to reach this room via other routes.
’Now this is interesting.’
From the outside, each chamber appeared to have only an entrance and an exit, with no third passage. This observation clearly contradicted his conclusion.
Lin Mo communicated this information to Shefilya.
Shefilya pondered for a moment before speaking. "If that’s the case, then there’s only one possibility..."
"Space Teleportation!"
"The person who built this Underground Dungeon was highly accomplished in Magic and had mastered Space Magic to some degree!"
In the system of Magic, Fire, Water, Wind, Ice, and Earth are the most common Elements. Light, Dark, Lightning, and Nature Magic are relatively rare. But above all of them, more mysterious and difficult to master, are Space and Time.
The most common form of Space Magic is the Magic Storage Bag.
This wondrous storage device is created by using a space-folding Enchantment on a bag woven from Magic Communication Materials. The process itself isn’t terribly complex, but the reason these items are so expensive—aside from the high cost of the materials—is that very few people can master Space Magic.
Unlike common Elements such as Ice and Fire, the "Space" Element is very vague, as if shrouded in a thick veil. Even those with exceptional talent might be able to sense it, but resonating with it is extremely difficult, let alone mastering it.
Furthermore, most Mages today, in their pursuit of faster power growth and stronger Magic, tend to specialize in a single Element, leading to even less research and development of such rare Elements.
And yet, the creator of this Underground Secret Realm had actually mastered Space Magic!
If he could clear this Secret Realm, could the rewards possibly include a Space Magic Skill Scroll?
At this thought, Lin Mo’s eyes lit up.
’That’s Space Magic!’
’I just wonder how deep this Secret Realm is, and how difficult it will get later on.’
’Anyway, I’ll just have to take it one step at a time.’
Lin Mo pushed open the door at the far end of the chamber. This time, three paths appeared before him.
"We’ll decide the same way as before. If it’s a tie, we’ll take the middle path."
Shefilya nodded, then simply extended her hand during Lin Mo’s countdown.
"..."
The corner of Lin Mo’s mouth twitched. He couldn’t help but complain, "Seriously... do you only throw paper?"
"And don’t you only throw rock?"
Shefilya looked up at him, a hint of a smile in her eyes.
"Alright, fine."
Lin Mo was out of words. He headed straight down the path on the left.
The traps in the corridor were once again not worth mentioning. He soon arrived before the next chamber door. This time, it was bluish-gray.
