Without another word, Lin Mo accepted the quest directly at the Association.

Afterwards, Chairman Vick began to organize the Adventurers who had answered the Call-up Order.

First, they were organized according to their chosen objectives.

Lin Mo temporarily joined the group assigned to defending the front line, which was the most popular choice among the Adventurers.

The first reason was its importance. The premise for all other tasks and countermeasures was that the front line could not be allowed to collapse. Otherwise, if the Goblin Army broke through and reached the walls of Silver Stream City, they would lose all strategic depth. From that point on, winning the war would be incredibly difficult.

The second reason was that for Adventurers, the front line was the easiest place to earn merit and glory.

The remaining Adventurers who had chosen other types of missions also headed to their own assembly points. These were, in fact, also near the front line. After all, neither the behind-the-lines assassination and sabotage missions nor the rescue operations had started yet. They were still waiting for their specific orders, which would likely be issued as the battle progressed throughout the night.

If the situation grew dire, they might be redeployed to temporarily join the main defensive battle.

In terms of tactical deployment, Chairman Vick and his staff didn’t opt for what might seem like a more logical approach—dividing everyone by Profession. Instead, they had the Adventurers maintain their existing squad formations.

Organizing by Profession might seem like the correct approach, but it would also be a sign of inflexibility.

Because sometimes, one cannot only consider what is logical on paper; one must also consider the specifics of the situation and, most importantly, the human element.

After all, Adventurers aren’t highly trained soldiers. If they were broken up and reorganized, their ability to execute orders and coordinate would be no match for the official Guard Team.

However, allowing them to remain in their squads was a much better fit for their typical combat style.

The members of each squad had already honed their skills together over countless adventures, so their coordination was second nature. With their own captains giving commands, they could operate effectively. Although it meant many small units fighting their own battles, this Adventurer Squad format was the best way to maximize their collective strength.

Of course, the main force on Silver Stream City’s defense line was the regular army, the Guard Team. The Adventurers were primarily tasked with reinforcing the flanks and alleviating pressure on the main force.

Lin Mo’s Silver Radiance Squad, along with a dozen other Adventurer Squads totaling over a hundred Adventurers, was assigned to the far end of the left flank.

While it appeared to be on the periphery of the battlefield, its strategic importance was not to be underestimated.

The outermost edges of the front were the most vulnerable to flanking attacks and the most prone to unexpected developments.
