Chapter 1591: Puppet Hall
Training Camp
"Are you Zack Lockwood?" the female warrior asked again to make sure.
Hearing that, I nodded my head.
The female warrior then collected her thoughts and asked, "Give me your access card."
I gave her the access card. She began the formal registration. It took her a few minutes to complete the process, and then she handed back the access card.
"What do I do here?" I asked her.
The female warrior smiled and said, "You are here to train. There are different facilities here that you will not find in a Tier-4 region."
"When it is time for battle, your name will be called," she added.
After saying that, she sent the map of the facility to my device.
"I sent you a map. You will know what to do then. Most of the facilities are free to use, but they operate on a first-come, first-served basis," she said.
Hearing that, I thanked her before walking away. The female warrior then took her device and immediately shared the news with her friends.
Meanwhile, I viewed the map on my device. I saw the names of the training facilities: Puppet Hall, Gravity Hall, Ocean Tide Hall, Volcanic Hall, and Wind Storm Hall.
I read a few names. It was already impressive. There were a few other halls as well, including a large private stadium for warriors to challenge each other.
After reading the stadium’s name, I immediately thought of the warriors who had come to my flat. Maybe they wanted to challenge me to a duel.
I shook my head before heading towards the Puppet Hall, following the map on my device. On the way, I came across other seniors.
Everyone was in their thirties and forties; I only spotted a few people in their twenties. While walking past me, they spared a glance. That was all.
They didn’t know my name. Otherwise, their reaction would have been different. Soon, I found the Puppet Hall. It looked like an office room. I saw three people inside.
I walked up to the place and entered the room.
There were two male and one female Red Mark Warriors talking to each other. My arrival drew their attention.
Their gazes fell on me while I checked out the big door in front of me. There was a large device with many buttons. I got curious and walked up to inspect it.
The three warriors came to the realization that such a young warrior was a Purple Mark Warrior. They were all middle-aged Red Mark Warriors.
"Who are you, young man?" a heavily built warrior asked.
Hearing that, I turned around and noticed the heavily built warrior. There was a faint red aura covering his body, and I spotted a tinge of golden skin.
It reminded me of Giant Tower University.
"I’m new here, so I’m checking out the Puppet Hall." After replying, I turned back to the switches.
I noticed that you could set the difficulty level here, and the Puppet Hall seemed to be a place to fight against puppets.
Meanwhile, the three warriors were taken aback. In particular, the heavily built warrior was slightly displeased. He thought my response was dismissive.
Creak!
Just then, the massive door opened, and someone walked out. The person was a Red Mark Warrior. He looked tired. He had set the difficulty level to medium.
"Reece, how many have you defeated?" the female warrior asked.
The tired warrior was one of their team members. They had been waiting for him to come out.
"I only defeated twenty. Medium difficulty is the limit for me," Reece replied.
Overhearing their conversation, I figured out what was going on.
Then I read the instructions listed above the device.
I took my device and placed it on the scanner.
Buzz!
My name appeared. An instruction prompted me to select the difficulty mode next. I chose the easy one first.
Buzz!
The next instruction was to enter the hall. Seeing that, I took back my access card and stepped inside the room.
Creak!
The massive door shut behind me automatically.
Reece and the others didn’t expect the young man to enter next.
"That Purple Mark Warrior is so young. What’s his name?" Reece asked.
It was not surprising to see a Purple Mark Warrior here. Sometimes powerful warrior families sent their heirs here to train.
"We didn’t ask his name," the female warrior said.
"He acted rude earlier," the heavily built warrior said.
The other warrior was a middle-aged man with a fit build. His gaze fell on the device, and he saw the name.
A hint of surprise appeared in his eyes.
"Look at the device. His name is right there," he said.
Hearing that, the others turned towards the device and saw the name.
"Zack Lockwood," the female warrior uttered.
Reece was shocked as well. He didn’t expect to meet the famous Purple Mark here.
"No wonder he was rude," the heavily built warrior said.
"Maybe he didn’t want to disclose his identity. You know there are others after him," the female warrior said, her tone changing.
"Hmph," the heavily built warrior snorted.
"Now that he’s here, it can’t be helped. Others will challenge him soon. Let’s see why he is so famous," he commented.
"Alright guys, let’s not confront the young man. He has a lot to deal with. We can watch from the sidelines," Reece told the others.
Hearing that, the team members were convinced. They waited there to see the result.
Inside the hall, I found myself in a wide, spacious room. It was like an open field where you could fight a battle. It could easily accommodate more than ten Dead Fangs.
The space was massive.
Creak!
There was a platform ahead. The platform door suddenly opened, and a black humanoid puppet appeared above it.
As soon as it reached the surface, the door closed automatically.
Boom!
The next second, the humanoid puppet opened its eyes. A red light glowed in both eye sockets.
A massive pressure belonging to a Red Mark Warrior erupted from the puppet.
I stood there frozen, confused as to how a puppet could release Red Mark pressure. Was this an artifact? A lot of questions flashed through my mind.
Pushing those thoughts aside, I focused on the upcoming battle.
