Chapter 1592: Part 1: Easy Mode
Puppet Hall
I saw that the puppet was completely built of metal or some kind of artifact.
Boom!
I was wondering whether the puppet would take action first. Then, all of a sudden, I saw the puppet charge at me.
A powerful Red Mark–level pressure erupted from the beast.
I immediately tested the new purple lightning concept. My right hand was covered in a purple lightning film.
Boom!
The humanoid puppet snapped out a punch to attack me.
I activated my perception power. It quickly covered the whole hall. As my gaze shifted to the puppet, I saw its movements clearly. I predicted the attack and stepped to the right.
Boom!
The right metal fist of the puppet went past me, creating a booming sound.
At the same time, my right hand snapped out and struck the chest of the puppet.
Boom!
My right hand was covered in the purple film. Upon contact, a powerful blast occurred.
A burst of visible lightning erupted and blasted the puppet away. It rocketed backward at full force before squarely crashing into the wall.
All of this happened within seconds.
Thud!
The puppet fell to the ground.
A hint of shock appeared in my eyes. I hadn’t expected the newly developed understanding to be this powerful.
Just a point of contact had detonated the destructive lightning. What would happen if I mixed this power with the shock force?
My heart swelled with excitement. Then I raised my head and looked at the puppet. It wasn’t getting up from the spot.
Seeing that, I walked up to the puppet to check. I saw a massive hole in its chest; the puppet was no longer active.
Creak!
Just then, I heard the sound of the platform door opening.
I turned around and saw another puppet appear on the platform. It was another Red Mark Puppet.
Seeing that, I thought of using less of the purple lightning film. I controlled the power until only a very thin layer covered my hand.
Swoosh!
Upon appearing, the Red Mark Puppet looked around and locked onto its target,me. The next second, it bolted straight toward me.
My perception covered everything. This time, when the puppet reached me, it used its leg to swipe at me.
Swoosh!
The kick was fast. I evaded the attack and retreated toward the wall. The puppet came at me to attack again.
This time, I was prepared. I avoided the fist and threw a punch back.
Seeing that, the puppet raised its hand to try to block the attack.
The thin purple lightning film came into contact with the puppet’s hand.
Boom!
The detonation occurred. The power of lightning erupted and destroyed the puppet’s right hand, severing it completely at the shoulder.
Seeing that, I stepped forward to punch its chest.
Boom!
The punch once again blasted the puppet away. But this time, the attack left behind a deep dent instead of a hole.
It was because I had used only a very thin film of purple lightning. I wanted to fight longer to test its limits, so I hadn’t used my full power.
The puppet was still able to stand up, and it was coming at me again.
Seeing that, I decided to drag out the fight.
Outside
Reece and the others were waiting for the result. They knew there were different modes in the Puppet Hall, but those modes were meant for Red Mark Warriors.
If a Purple Mark Warrior entered the Puppet Hall, the situation would be completely different. Even a single Red Mark puppet would be too much for a Purple Mark Warrior to handle.
So they had expected him to be knocked out quickly. Instead, they were witnessing something else entirely: Zack Lockwood was holding out for a long time.
None of them spoke. Even the heavily built warrior who had been rude earlier had fallen silent.
His expression was solemn, showing just how much shock he was experiencing internally.
The female warrior stared at the door, while the lean warrior looked at the difficulty buttons.
There was Easy Mode, Medium Mode, Hard Mode, Extreme Mode, and finally Hell Mode.
In Easy Mode, the warrior faced 10 Red Mark–level puppets. In Medium Mode, the warrior faced 20 Red Mark–level puppets.
This was what had happened with Reece. He had managed to complete Medium Mode by defeating 20 puppets, which had pushed him to his absolute limit.
When it came to Hard Mode, the number increased by 20, meaning the warrior would face 40 Red Mark Puppets.
In Extreme Mode, the number was 80, and in Hell Mode, it rose up to 160.
Not many had completed Hard Mode. The numbers were even rarer for Extreme Mode, and fewer still had ever cleared Hell Mode.
The middle-aged man knew that those who succeeded were all Red Mark Warriors. He had never seen a Purple Mark Warrior do it before.
For a Purple Mark Warrior, Easy Mode was essentially considered Hell Mode. There were not many Purple Mark Warriors in the entire Tier-3 Sub-Post to begin with.
Those present were heirs of influential factions, and he knew that even they would be alarmed right now.
Reece collected his thoughts and asked, "How long has it been?"
Hearing that, the female warrior replied, "It’s only been 15 minutes."
"Is that young man going to complete Easy Mode?" Reece asked.
Hearing that, everyone fell quiet.
The heavily built warrior said, "If the young man is this strong now, won’t he become even more powerful once he becomes a Red Mark Warrior?"
Quiet!
A heavy silence fell over them. They had come to watch the spectacle, but now their faces were dead serious.
Reece didn’t know what to say. With his Red Mark strength, he had barely completed Medium Mode.
Yet now, he was watching a kid, a mere Purple Mark Warrior about to clear Easy Mode.
What did that mean? It meant the kid could already fight evenly against a Red Mark Warrior. No wonder the higher-ups had brought him here.
