Chapter 73. Fever Dream
"Should have bought some poisons at the warriors association," Aiden thought.
His contribution points had been exhausted. Buying poisons on campus was not an option.
"Well, the ones at the Warriors Association are known to have a poorer quality anyway compared to the ones in the university shops. No need to waste my money," Aiden decided.
After changing into a hoodie, jeans, and black sneakers, he left the villa.
"It’s snowing," Aiden said as he moved through the streets of campus.
"They said we are meeting before the Armstrong Skyscraper. A turn left and right should be it."
Eventually, he saw several people gathered in front of the Armstrong Skyscraper. Each of them were in hoodies, jeans, and sneakers. This was to be expected because it was winter. The weather didn’t have much of an effect on warriors though.
But it was simply traditional for people to dress like this in winter.
"The instructors are yet to arrive," Aiden thought.
When he looked at the group ahead, he didn’t see any legendary rank 2 warriors among them.
"Those rank 2 warriors are the top 11 to 25 on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list. I think they were part of the society heads that visited me to invite me into their societies.
The rank 1 warriors here, including Asmodeus and the others, are not in the top 100 of the Heavenly Ascension Ranking list, but they are ranked pretty high. They really went all out to select unique individuals."
Their warrior levels were just like the information had stated too.
Apart from his friends who were intermediate rank 1 warriors, four were advanced rank 1 warriors, 3 were expert rank 1 warriors, and 2 were legendary rank 1 warriors.
7 of them were beginner rank 2 warriors.
5 were intermediate rank 2 warriors.
3 were advanced rank 2 warriors.
"Candice, Luke, and Seraphina have still not broken through to advanced rank 1.
Perhaps, they’ll make use of the pocket world environment to break through," Aiden thought.
Several people in the group saw him approaching.
Their eyes flashed with emotional glints.
This guy... was Aiden Vhorn. So he was actually joining the expedition, huh.
If the rumors were true, which many of them didn’t doubt, then he was actually more terrifying than they thought.
To think he would corner those guilds and conglomerates with just a single tactical and unpredictable move. This was one of the things that made this guy very scary. You could never know what he was actually thinking.
As for Seraphina, Desmonda, Luke, Candice, and Asmodeus, they knew Aiden had definitely pulled it off.
Desmonda did not tell the others about the fact Aiden called her for an anonymous hacker’s number. Aiden didn’t have to tell her that something like that was confidential. She needed to respect his privacy. So she didn’t tell the others.
But she was not surprised they believed the rumors concerning what Aiden did to the guilds and conglomerates in Derulo City.
These guys had worked with him before. Although they were shocked when they heard it, they had an inkling of what he was capable of.
As for Desmonda herself, she had come to understand why he took the hacker’s number.
Just what goes on in that brain of his?
Eventually, Aiden arrived.
"You’re late," Candice said.
"Well, considering the weather. He must have a girlfriend cooked up in his villa," Seraphina said.
"Oh... I see," Luke added, feigning surprise.
"My man... finally a grown up." Asmodeus tapped Aiden’s back.
Desmonda simply shook her head. These guys were full of antics.
"Heh. You guys are full of shit," Aiden chuckled.
"Get a life, man," Asmodeus blabbered. "You only live once, you know..."
"What... you’ve tasted the forbidden fruit of Seraphina finally, so you can run your mouth around, huh?" Desmonda said.
"You..." Seraphina blushed.
"This..." Luke widened his eyes. He turned to look at Asmodeus. The guy wanted to find a place to hide.
Asmodeus felt someone pat his back.
"Will come for tips from you in the future, man," Aiden said. Asmodeus wanted to tease him, huh? Then he won’t have any reservations for the bastard.
"It seems you are a prodigy," Aiden added.
"You vengeful bastard. You are enjoying this, aren’t you?" Asmodeus glared at Aiden.
Aiden shrugged and chuckled.
"Was he good?" Candice whispered into the ears of Seraphina. But everyone here had better hearing than normal humans. They were warriors after all.
All eyes were on her. Literally all eyes. Even the other warriors who were not part of Aiden’s circle, minding their own business, uninvolved in their conversation, and were not standing close to the six of them, were curious. People always loved good gossip.
Shameless as ever, Seraphina replied, puffing up her chest, "He’s a fever dream."
Her five friends, including her boyfriend, were silent.
They had really underestimated her shamelessness.
"Lucky bitch," Many ladies cursed Seraphina in their hearts.
Some of the guys also cursed Asmodeus.
He really had this beauty with dark hair and green eyes as his girlfriend.
Including Desmonda and Candice, she was one of the well talked about beautiful ladies on campus. Of course, they were not the only ladies who were pretty on campus. It was not like people went about worshipping them.
But, because they were popular and came from influential backgrounds, coupled with the fact that they were known to be friends with Aiden Vhorn, they were more talked about.
As for Asmodeus, he felt proud that he did a good job. Of course, the looks he was getting from other ladies after Seraphina’s comment fed his ego more and more.
"Is this how the MCs of anime feel all the time?" He thought. He had no idea some gentlemen were playfully cursing him in their hearts.
The group of other warriors standing far from Aiden noticed that his interaction with his friends was natural. He looked like a regular young adult having a nice conversation with his friends.
When compared to how ruthless and clinical he could be, he was like an entirely different person.
He was a very sophisticated person. A couple of ladies looked at him with dreamy expressions.
Someone sighed deeply, "He’s single, right?"
It was a lady with blond hair.
Ranked 12th on the Heavenly Ascension Ranking list, an advanced rank 2 warrior.
Student Council President. Rexilia Ravenspar.
Scion of the Ravenspar Conglomerate in Tanmun City.
"The only way to find out is to ask him yourself," Tatara Sranak, the Vice President of the student council, ranked 11th on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list, an advanced rank 2 warrior, said.
"I have a crush on him. I’m going there to ask him out," Rexilia said.
"You think a dude like that is looking for a relationship now?" A dude with a buzz cut added.
Joseph Lento, ranked 13th on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list. An advanced rank 2 warrior. He was the heir to a restaurant conglomerate called the Lento Food Group of companies in Froshore City.
These three engaged in a conversation were the advanced rank 2 warriors among the students. They were also good friends.
"The worst I can get is a rejection from him. It’s not like he’s the only guy on the planet. A rejection is not the end of the world. Besides, how will I know he will reject me unless I try to ask him out?" she said.
Her two guy friends nodded.
"I thought you were engaged?" Tatara said.
"It’s a political engagement. I don’t even have feelings for him. Doesn’t mean I can’t have some fun, right? If I can’t decide who I marry, that does not mean I can’t decide who I get to have fun with."
Joseph and Tatara sighed.
She ignored them and walked majestically towards Aiden and his friends.
