One week later.

A figure stepped out of the rank 1 danger zone.

He had brown hair and black eyes with fair skin. He was clad in a hoodie, jeans, sneakers, and a long coat.

"I’ve managed to slaughter a lot of expert rank 1 chaotic beasts and absorb their blood essence during this one week period. My combat prowess has also improved drastically. Time to head back. I should be on time for the Joint University Pocket World Mission."

This morning, all Derulo City University students had received a notification.

According to the notification, some of the top rankers on the Heavenly Ascension Ranking List were selected for an expedition in a newly discovered pocket world in Harland City. It was a newly discovered rank 2 pocket world. 30 warriors in the top rankers of the Heavenly Ascension ranking list were selected for this expedition.

15 rank 1 warriors and 15 rank 2 warriors.

The warriors were not just selected based on strength, but potential.

They included Asmodeus, Candice, Seraphina, Luke, Desmonda, and Aiden.

The remaining 9 were remarkable rank 1 warriors.

Four were advanced rank 1 warriors, 3 were expert rank 1 warriors, and 2 were legendary rank 1 warriors. Naturally, no one knew Aiden was now an expert rank 1 warrior since he was yet to update his rank.

The rank 2 warriors included 15 of the society heads that approached Aiden politely, requesting him to join their societies.

7 of them were beginner rank 2 warriors.

5 were intermediate rank 2 warriors.

3 were advanced rank 2 warriors.

The top ten on the Heavenly Ascension ranking list were not included because they were on a special mission far from Derulo City.

Harland Metropolitan University and Cosmere City University would be cooperating with Derulo City University on this expedition.

The expedition would be led by legendary rank 2 instructors from the three universities.

Harland Metropolitan University and Cosmere University each had to bring 30 remarkable student warriors on the expedition too. They would also be a mixture of rank 1 and rank 2 warriors.

Also, the notification explained that the joint expedition was to close the rank 2 gate. Creatures and environmental phenomena from the pocket world had started to spill into the western district of Harland Metropolitan City.

A mission task force of rank 1 and rank 2 warriors had already been sent into the pocket world to close the gate. But it had been three weeks since they went in. Nothing had been heard from them. They were assumed dead.

This was why the assistance of Derulo City University and Cosmere City University had been sought.

The rewards for completing the mission were astronomical.

But Aiden did not care about any of that. All he was thinking about was the blood essence he could absorb in the pocket world.

" Also, leaving Derulo City for a while will be good for me. Inasmuch as Vermin guild and the others cannot harm me for a while, staying off their radar for a while is also a good thing," Aiden thought.

He eventually arrived outside the danger zone. After greeting the guards, he left the place and ordered a cab.

" Is that him?"

" Yeah. The crimson reaper. Some say he’s the one behind the incident with the scions of the guilds and conglomerates."

" Indeed. Apparently, they say he engineered everything on purpose. No one knows how he managed to get the scions to kill themselves. But, because of his actions, the investors from those organizations pulled out their support. They were afraid a war could break out between the organizations since their scions killed each other. Even after publicly announcing that they would not be having a civil war among themselves, their investors did not want to take a risk again by reinvesting into them."

" Are you saying he actually used a single action to orchestrate all this by thinking several steps ahead?"

" Yeah."

" He seemed so polite when he greeted us."

" Well, that’s what makes him more terrifying. His ruthlessness is clinical."

The group of guards murmured among each other as they stared at Aiden’s back as he waited for his cab at the roadside.

This young man was really terrifying.

A cab pulled to a stop before Aiden.

The cab driver saw Aiden. His eyes flashed with a reverential glint.

Who in Derulo City didn’t know Aiden Vhorn?

He stuttered, too shocked to speak. It was as if he had met his favorite celebrity.

Aiden was quite surprised by the man’s actions.

"Good morning sir. Is this the cab I ordered?" Aiden asked.

The man came to his senses.

" Arh... yes sir. Kindly feel comfortable sir."

Aiden nodded, opened the door politely, and sat down at the back seat.

The man drove quietly. However, from time to time, he would look in the mirror at the front and shoot a glance at Aiden. He could not believe he was actually driving the crimson reaper. He would brag to his family about this encounter for a very long time.

" He looks very ordinary," The man thought. " And polite. Is this really the guy on the news whose feats literally send chills down one’s spine? One should never judge a book by its cover."

He sighed as he continued driving.

" Breaking news," The anchor on the mini TV in the cab said. "The Western District of Harland City is facing the outcome of a gate that has not been closed on time. Reliable sources state that several rank 2 and rank 1 warriors were sent into the gate, but they have not returned after three weeks. Just this morning, creatures and environmental phenomena from the pocket world started to spill into the western district of Harland City through the gate. The authorities have partnered with Derulo City University and Cosmere City University to lead a joint team of elites into the pocket world a few hours from now to close the gate. Meanwhile, warriors from Harland City are doing everything they can to evacuate citizens from the Western district and kill as many creatures coming out of the gate as much as they can. The driver sighed, " It’s worse than I thought."

His words were directed to Aiden.

Aiden was on his phone.

He simply looked at the man and nodded politely, then returned to what he was doing.

The driver didn’t speak again. Clearly, Aiden Vhorn was the quiet type.

Eventually, they arrived in front of Aiden’s villa on campus.

"No need to pay sir," The man said politely.

" I insist." Aiden sent the man the money.

" Thank you sir," The man said.

"Your change..." Before he could even finish talking, Aiden had already walked off.

The man sat back in the car and drove off.

"It will snow heavily today," Aiden said as he looked into the skies. It was very humid.

" Time to change and head towards the gathering spot for the expedition." He entered his villa.
